It obviously depends on the difficulty level.

Looks ok 2 me mayne...

Few people talking about the reduced sliding. That was one of the main problems in 2K9. I don't think it has completely disappeared but it's a lot less frequent in 2K10.

I got the feeling that the player movement is way more restricted now (as it should be) because they need to plant their feet before attempting to do another move.

All in all, from my experience with the demo and from what I've been reading here: overall the game rocks; Isomotion sucks; and alley-oops will be exploited online.

I doubt Kobe shot was mo-capped by he himself. If it was, why have devs said they've tweaked his jumper like 5-6 times since the Draft Combine was finished? Doesn't make sense.

Watching my CPU teammates let cutters pass them without any contact and then turning their back completely away from the ball is really annoying.

That "GET UP" chant is absolute trash. So is the sound sclip that plays after the Lakers make 3 or something, I know what it''s supposed to sound like (It's in Live and they record real arena sounds) in 2k it's sounds sorta like a wind chime.

I am not sure why people are saying that this demo is great. Its anything but great. Player movements feel really clunky, gameplay is horrible. I can't seem to have any control as far crossing over. The animation controls you, this is pathetic. Take a look at the way players dribble the ball up the court, it is so unrealistic. The shooting kind of looks weird. The atmosphere in the arena is kind of cool but not as good as live. So far, I am not impressed at all, I was looking forward playing 2k10 but after playing this demo, I am not sure anymore.

Excellent idea I am certain you will enjoy your game much better that way.

jfsolo i hardly think making an observation about your player moving all by himself on defense is in any way "crying". Without seeing pared's one post out of every post in this thread how is someone suppossed to know that ?

Welcome to the OS Ao defense !!! Tad bit oversimplistic reason why someone wouldn't like the game man. LOL !!!

I think they mean for example when you're running and want to stop and pop... the sig shots in 2k makes the player stop, shuffle his feet and square up then shoot instead of doing it all in one motion, which gives the defense that split second to recover to contest

Thank you 23, that's exactly what I'm reffering too. Not leaners. I want to be able to do a simple pump fake, quick step in-jumpshot without having to wait 5 seconds for the player to gather, footplant and take jumpshot. The animation last year was slow enough to allow recovery.

However again I did see Mo pull that off with Roy in a vid so I dunno...I'll have to confirm for myself.

EDIT: I'm glad that strip does not occur as frequent in the retail Pared thanks.

Welcome to the OS neo79. You may want to play it for awhile man especially if you have been playing the other demo. It may just take some time to get used to it to be able to enjoy what the game does do well. Sometimes you can be so used to one thing that it makes anything different seem worse. not invali****** your opinions as you could end up playing longer and hating it even more !

Just a suggestion Bro !

Like I said from certain angles it just looks off for some reason.

That angle looks great but when Kobe's back is facing me and he shoots it his hands look way too spread out.

Lol maybe I'm just crazy

do you think fouls being too low on default was intentional, or an oversight?

it had to be intentional because anyone can spot the issue in a few games.

This confirms my claim that the developers do not strive for a default sim game. I've been saying it for the past year. Every year we complain that fouls are too low, yet the game is never tuned higher in subsequent years.

Lol It's all good...we all view the world thru different lenses

# 316 Jano @ 09/29/09 02:08 PM
Oh well it doesn't bug me much because it feels better when I'm shooting it.

Which is something I couldn't say in 2K8 or 2K9 so this is a step in the right direction.

Well, I have been playing 2k since live kept coming out with garbage every year. The 2k demo feels like the game is going backward as far as controls and gameplay. I enjoyed 2k7 and 2k8 the most. Controls were not perfect but game was really fluid. I am comparing both demos and Live is just on an another level as far gameplay. But I am going to take your advice and play some more and see if I start liking it. Doubt it though

i have played it for 20 games with it today and found it enjoy able more diffcult then 2k9. Didnt see many put back dunks only one by D12 off a missed layup on a fast break. Not many hook shoots mostly from Gasol and some D12, had nice drive into and hook like the one that Ewing has been teaching him. (Now only if Ewing can teach how to shot face up jump shot from 15 feet). Nice spaceing , off the ball d is nice. No more poke and steal. Lot of nice hustle play. Kobe stoled the pass and tight roped the slide line for a nice dunk. All players seem to be playing as them selfs kobe as kobe and VC as the new VC not Half man Half amazing. Did see many cut seens the close up at the foul show the new face experstions they put in , nice. Also noticed some nice momentume base moves , i would line up to take charge and kobe would stop on a dime and shot , move around me or pass. But Artest ran right threw each team.

Took a few games to get a hold of the new control set up. Still cant figure out how to be in the triple threat positon . Before it was hold both LT+RT and left stick. Anybody know how to do it know?

All and all 1st day by like i have been doing since 1999.

See, these are the kind of statements that make me squint my eyes and scratch my head. And believe me, I'm not trying 2 be argumentative...I'm just thinking objectively and speaking openly...

U ask a question that there's clearly no way u could know unless u got the answer directly FROM a developer then u go ahead and say something HAD 2 be the way u hypothesized simply cause that's what u believe. Do u understand that's like standing in a closet arguing with urself then debating over who won the argument? I'll be the 1st 2 say that by default there aren't quite enough fouls called in the game but 2 insinuate a conspiracy theory amongst the developers 2 prevent the game from playing they precise way u want it 2 play is ridiculous man. Again, I don't say this 2 derail the topic (I'm not even gonna speak on it again) or 2 argue but more so 2 make people think about what they're saying b4 they say it...type it...whatever...

I cant wait to get home and play this demo.

For you guys who got the demo and know how to play:

1. Can you break a defender down with a good pg with isomotion ?

2. Do the tools they give you to play manual defense allow such that a good defender will defend a not so great offensive player and pretty much shut him down ?

3. Does the offense move around once you have the ball up court ?

4. Does the defense rotate and generally help you play D ?

I already know from the combine you can body up NICELY in the game.

If you can do all the basketball things in this basketball game and you can counter what ever is happening to you on the court then I would think most people should be for the most part happy with the game. Its doing what its suppose to do.

Cosmetic stuff and sounds and head bands and shoes are all subjective. Everyones opinion on that stuff is gonna vary.

If the game allows you to BALL on offense and defense and looks good while doing it, what else could anyone possibly want ?
