Yeah, I'm probably about to cancel my pre-order, nd I was really, really pumped for this game. It's not like it's going to sellout off the shelves or anything, and with all the problems PS3 had pre-patch the fact they don't even want us to play the game before it releases is ridiculous. I know the demo wouldn't reveal problems like Association Drills and Quick Games constantly freezing (to the point my blu-ray drive broke and I had to repair it for $170), online lag to the point every shot release and free throw is different than offline, fuzzy courts...but still it's unsettling that last season's effort was subpar and now this year they're just totally ignorant to PS3 as if it were the Wii or PSP or something...I miss the PS2 days...

I agree. It was removed for offense as well. Unfortunately the "cheesers" were exploiting it.

As for Sony... this isn't the first game where they've lagged behind on demos, fellas. They just don't have a quick turnaround time on certain things, like demos and the such. That really falls on them...

That could be true except that Sony released a demo for the other basketball game on time.

Well, let's just hope for the best. I have 360 anyway and even if there's some issues they will probably fix them quickly.

That is not a demo, that is a demo of a DLC portion of the game. I want to see a demo, like the 360 got, where I am playing with real players, with an arena full of people, you know, like a demo of the real NBA 2k10 game!

Oh well, if 2kSports doesn't want us to play the game, before we buy it, it just makes my decision incredibly easy! I have a hard time paying $60 for a game that the Developers will not show a demo for, ESPECIALLY when they DID for the other console. I have bought the last 5 2k games, and I enjoyed them. But I also enjoyed the Live demo I got LAST WEEK. If I cannot play 2k10 before I buy it, then I am just a little worried. ESPECIALLY after many of the impressions here about bad framerates adn shooting percentages.

Well PS3 guys, somebody on 2k forums claimed they called Sony and the rep said the demo will be out at 7 PM est tonight...like normal....

Take it for what its worth, but I can believe it.

Hey whats up yall. I know there has been a lot of speculation about if the NBA 2k10 demo will drop. I been reading these fourms and people been saying that the demo wont drop because of the there was a update yesterday. Well I took it upon on myself to stop waiting for Ron and call Sony themselevs to ask about there updates and if they know anything about the NBA 2k10 demo. I spoke to a women and she stated that "Sony will have there regular scheudaled update today at 7 p.m. eastern and unless 2k delays for any reason, NBA 2k10 demo will be avalible for download." There you go because i acutally got banned from the forums because I am a diehard 2k fan and i was angry because there was no info about the ps3 demo. Well there you folks. 7p.m. eastern. Now we all can breathe again.

Mo Williams shot release is even quicker than it was last year. It's literally a flick of the stick or a tap of the button. His leaners are nasty too.
thank u so much for answering that question!

For those of you stroking out over the demo, this thread might ease your nerves (or may not) Zihin did a Q&A, and he emphasized that the retail version of the game is much, much better than the demo...it seemed to make me feel better...

I don't mind that the demo's late; I just find it highly suspicious that there is always a miscommunication between 2K Sports and the PS3, whether we're talking game code or in nearly every case demo/DLC releases. It's so frustrating every time someone asks Ron about a PS3-related situation and, at least when I've seen it, he usually doesn't know. I just feel like they don't invest as much in the PS3 port and consider it a sort of red-headed stepchild.

And if Sony does another update later today (which is pretty rare so I don't especially trust that forum post), then I can take all of that back. I'm just a little bothered as all.

Impressions of the Demo:

Masterful. From the late August impressions I gave until now, I think that NBA 2k10 will be SGOTY(earlier I thought that PES 2010 would have that title). But after playing 2k10, I believe that this iteration of the game will be heralded as an example of a classic. The amount of customization that has been communicated to us on these boards, on the 2k developer insights and on XBOX Live(as I talked to Pared and others lucky bastards that have had the game for about a week now), shows that this may be that one sports game that you keep for the remainder of this gaming console cycle.

Here are a few of my favorite improvements that I've noticed so far in the demo.

1. AI, AI, AI

Despite 2k's robust online gaming aspect, they didn't slack in the single-player's department. It looks like I will really enjoy the unpredictability of the game. I've played games where Howard, Kobe, and Vince all have dominated. I recently played a game as the Magic where Nelson was destroying Fisher, and Phil took Fisher out, put in Farmar and started to double Nelson. It was beautiful and I can see months of replay value. Look out CODMW 2.

2. Overall Graphics Upgrade

I'm not sure exactly what it is the the 2k10 seems a lot more polished than its predecessor. From the projector's reflection on the court to the different crowd animations, I'm scared to think how much trouble I'm going to get into with the wife about "playing that damn game."

3. Animations

I've never seen so much variety in a sports demo. I played the demo for about 2 hours this morning. Yes, a 3 minute demo for 2 hrs. I've done it because every game, I something new. Whether its repeated missed put backs by Dwight or Kobe killin' me with a no look, even a baseline alley-oop over Vince to a trailing Bynum. This game is amazing. I'm thinking my store should have our copies in today or tomorrwo, so I'll see some of you guys on the hardwood then.

It's not just 2k, it's Sony. And this is coming from someone who loves his PS3, PSP and PS2, etc.

Yeah, but I have not seen anyone from 2kSports even confirm a demo was ready for PS3. I will promise you that Sony is just not sitting on it and decided NOT to release it today.

You would assume a 2kSports Dev would be out there raising cane about this if Sony is simply be lazy and not putting their demo up.

Hopefully, there IS a PS3 demo, it is ready and will be updated tonight. I just doubt it since the Store has already updated for this week. It actually updated early this morning with all the demos, games, and PSP games for the PSP GO Launch today.

NBA 2K10 PS3 demo to be release a week from today. Sorry guys, if I could do it any other way...
You haven't looked hard enough.

There is a PS3 demo on the way. Now let's stop derailing the thread.

So, basically, the demo will be available after the retail game.
That's just great .

Whoever's fault it is (Sony, 2k), there is no reason for me to buy a 2k game on this system when it's clear these games are made for the 360 first... I'm glad I'll get my Xbox back in a few weeks.

Edit :Sorry I miss your last sentence Pared..

The key to winning online will be:

1. Post up
2. Hookshot

Your entire strategy will be based around preventing this. Have fun.

damn no demo for PS3 before the game is released eh, just reading through peoples personal opinions sounds like the demo isn't that much to worry about, even though i do live in australia and everyone will have a copy of 2k10 before i do, maybe i'll pass on the demo and just get the full version when it gets here, thanks to everyone for posting impressions though

in the draft combine i got my passing up to 95 and i threw quite a few alleys off the back-board...but my receivers didn't have the dunk rating or w/e to finish it off for me

I think it felt pretty good. The graphics looked great, AI looks improved, jump shots looked smoother on release. It's only one half so I'm not going to say much until I get my hands on the real deal and play a full game. Can't for next week.
