impressions so far
the floor spacing is good
players move smoother (thank god)
the magic play like the magic
the jumpshots and dunk look good and put putbacks look awesome.
the net looks awesome
negatives:
i cant get to the rim or blow past anyone with isomotion
isomotion sucks after playing the nba live demo
a lot of lay ups on fastbreaks (kobe , artest)
arena looks ok NOT GREAT
the atmosphere isnt the best either compared to live
bottom line i think the atmosphere cant change due to no annoucing i hate isomotion tho i really do wow
i think the nba2k and the live gap has become smaller

Aside from the obvious points in this thread, I wonder if 2K corrected the minor issues that seem to go unnoticed when summing-up the depth of their product.
1. Did they fix the player progression and the insane number of trades?
2. Did they address the problem where former rookies going into their sophomore season would have marginal stats at best?
3. Did they address the glitch where the shot chart would be missing some "X's" and "O's"?
4. Did they fix the substitution issue where subs wouldn't enter the game sometimes if you used the D-Pad?
If anyone has the game and has info on this, please comment. These are just a few points that I expect to be cleaned up for 2K10.

The demo is meh for me too. I can beat Vince Carter off the dribble over and over, but he will absolutely not back off me on the perimeter.

Usually when a player releases the space is pretty small it makes the jumper look funky from certain angles.
It feels good when shooting it but it doesn't look all that great imo.

Didn't Mo_Cap (I think they didn't)
So why would any ASSUME Kobe did?

Presentation is a plus
Solid graphics on players and the court
My only gripe is that I could go to the basket at will, and I'm not even using isomotion, I can't stand that.
@Pared: could you lower the game speed?

The game is awesome with a capital A. I love the movement of the players feel like they have weight . The AI plays like the real person ,help defense finally animations are not so canned my only problem is the high shooting percentage too easy to dunk on 2 or more people but I know that is the lower difficulty of the demo, and the demo is a stripped down version of the real game just wait until the commentary and presentations are added oh my god this is gonna be the best b-ball sim to-date.The reason you wouldn't like this game is you can't do the cheese tactics from last year. but for the sake of the thread, lets keep it on the demo
- 2k just feels better to me. The demo is good, but I have a feeling that the game will be better once we can change difficulty and game speed.
- I'm having trouble with this camera angle performing any moves with the PG. But if you tap the right trigger you can do some dribble moves through the legs and some stutter-steps. I think it will be a lot easier from the 2k camera angle though.
Demo didn't blow me away -- but I like it more than Live because of the fluidity. Also, the presentation with the commentary will be worth the $64. Even if gameplay is just like 2k9, because I loved that game anyway.
I'm going to avoid the 2k forums for the next week because I think it allows me to find things out that I like/don't like on my own.

Yeah, the more I play the demo, the more crazy stuff is happening. Either that, or I'm running the offense like normal and hitting every single open shot, which just becomes predictable, unrealistic, and boring.
I'll keep playing, as I didn't like the Live demo initially either, but early on it's not looking good.

i'm loving the demo thus far and all the issues that seem to be bothering me (alley-oops mainly) are things that can easily be fixed with a patch. I'm loving the feel of the game and how the AI works on offense. Kobe feels like Kobe and the magic play like the magic. 2k10 is looking great.

The "patch" excuse sounds good on paper but given 2K's history with patch releases, I wouldn't get my hopes up....

Priceless.
At any rate, I also like the fact that in 2k this year, it seems that cheesing will be kept way down. I absolutely love the way this game feels.

Back on topic: I only played a few games but I think I got a feel for the direction of the game. I'm definitely turning off Defensive Assist when I get the game. Overall the game looks better, the facial animations really make a difference IMO. The CPU was still doing a lot of backdoor cutting lead passes, but there's a slider for that now. The controls around the bucket are better.
It is after all a 2K game, and it feels/plays like it. I don't think people should be surprised that it plays similar to 2K9, except refined. For some it will be a reason to pick up Live, as the series is becoming a little stale. But I can only see that as a positive, as it will force 2K to re-examine the mechanics and engine as a whole.
2K10 is the correct step in refinement. They weren't required to do a mass-makeover ala Live, so they took the good from 2K9 and fixed the bad. Personally, I may just end up getting 2K and Live simply as a change of pace. Nothing wrong with having 2 solid basketball titles.

yup cheesing is gonna be toned waaaay down this year. I tried seeing if i can abuse the Magic with Kobe and quickly saw how he became fatigued and slower. And dunks have been toned down ALOT as well. Can't wait to crank the difficulty up and have commentary to add to the atmosphere of the game.
