Game looks great. Only concern is that the organ doesn't sound authentic in Staples. Live 10 nailed it, as it sounds exactly like it was ripped from a Staples Center Laker game.

Demo looks great though, but I won't have a chance to play it because I got the RED RINGS

I'm just happy they gives options through sliders to make the game as realistic as possible.

This demo is so stripped down and restricted, it can wind up doing more harm than good for 2K.
I'll take your word for it because I've been enjoying the demo very much. Can't wait to play listening to Harlam and Kellog...

Only if Isomotion didn't suck this badly.

I feel like 2K has began to rely very heavily on word of mouth and past success to push their marketing these days.

I think the result is that we end up with very little info until close to the release date so that any "issues" are minimized.

The issues are coming, as they do every year, but in this year in particular, 2K has done a terrible job in selling this product.

I do see what people are saying about the alleys but the ai isn't exploiting it. I can do them at a pretty good rate (just hope it's because of difficulty level). I've never really had a grasp on isomotion so that hadn't changed (though I wish they could implement something like live has). But what's there is very solid for a bare-bones demo. Can't wait for oct. 6

Well, after probably 10 years I'm finally going to defect I think. The game is robotic and nothing really feels satisfying. It may just be a bad demo, but that's the fault of 2k.

Actually, the crazy thing is if they hadn't released the demo so late I would have never given Live that second chance, so if my experience is any indication they may have just screwed themselves.

Is 2k supposed to have the lakers signature sounds? I know I heard somewhere that MSG's organ will be in the game, but I don't know about the lakers. I have heard a sound from the Utah Jazz's arena in the game so maybe other teams such as the lakers have some signature sounds too?

It's the new clients to 2k like I was last year (live forever) that they want to bring in and I'm sure Kobe already has commercials set up along the season.
Them promoting after the fact is like someone trying to sell you the cheese after you've taken 3 bites of the burger.

The demo is part of that promotion. This is an incomplete demonstration of the game that leaves me a little puzzled.

Maybe I'm playing Devil's Advocate, but I want to know why it's so bare.

Are they hiding something? Do they anticipate that something may be an issue but don;t want it to reach the public until launch?

I think the community does a nice job of scrubbing a game pre-release and the comments are usually spot on.

I can't help but think 2K isn't as enthusiastic about this game as they should be, and there may be a reason behind that.

im not sure whats going on but Vince carter can do one head fake, drive past kobe or ron, and dunk it down.. not ON anyone, like a dunk in traffic. but this demo feels very much dumbed down at TIMES.. other times the CPU is keen on the deflections and picking up who they need to. its very dr. jekyll and ms hyde. leaving me in silence many times.

I have never in my time with 2k games had it this easy on my driving ability, on default for every game. this demo proves to be the easiest. it almost feels like somethings broken.

I must be in the minority, but I'm really digging the demo, barebones and all.

I feel like I'm in total control of my player (maybe not so much as live, but defintely more than 2k9), and the visceral package is just awe-inspiring. I've only played 5 games or so, and I don't want to play it anymore because I want the game to feel fresh next Tues. I'm known to wear out demos.

Game is just super fluid....really smooth anims with great variety. Colors look really vibrant. Crowd response is a lot better. Rebounding is tight, and ultra realistic. The sig jumpers are out cold (esp. Kobe).

For those who aren't feeling how the demo plays, it seems like sliders would be able to cure any qualms you'd have playing it out the box. Once the fouls are upped, defensive assist is turned down, and the speed is set to your own liking, I'm not seeing how this game couldn't spell a WIN.

Back to playing the combine, think I'm going to re-do my character so I can initiate him right for My Player mode (this could be the first year where i don't play association mode!)

Cheers VC/2k Team

Fatal,

This is your last warning. You've gone from impression to marketing to cover ups.

If you don't have any more impressions for this thread, please post your thoughts elsewhere. Create a new thread if you'd like. This isn't the place for it.

You feel like you're in control of every move that you've commanded into the controller. I don't know, maybe in your case you need to get use to the controls, but when I turned on the demo and saw that I couldn't do the size up dribble, I immediately turned it off; maybe my time with the retail have me spoiled a bit. Anyhow, glad that you and others are able to enjoy this demo, I think once you play the retail however you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about, and yes the commentary adds that much more to the game .
No doubt E!

It seems liked they rushed the demo out as if they didn't really intend on releasing one. I certainly see the benefit that 82games.com has made with this title and the pace is much better than 2k9. No size up, no playcalling, no commentary- you take those out of any hoop demo I will understand people being underwhemed/disappointed.
