NBA 2K10 Q&A: Retail Copy in Hand

I and a few others were lucky enough to attend the NBA 2K10 launch party here in NYC.

We were given full copies of the game and are willing to answer questions.

The only thing I'm going to tell you guys right now:

NO QUESTIONS ABOUT RATINGS. We already post them in the NBA 2K10 screenshots section.

I don't know if this question's been asked but I just noticed something pretty damn cool...

I'm playing the Lakers using the Spurs in San Antonio and I'm getting cracked by 20!

So, the 4th quarter begins and all the starters are on the bench. I figure, they'll probably put em back in on the next dead ball or after enough time passes. Nah, I got about a minute left in the game and they were never re-inserted.

I think that's damn cool....

Yeah, it was one of those games...Kobe got me 4 like 12 in the 1st quarter and it was all downhill from there man

I made a sick move with Ginobli though...uploading it now..

Yes, the CPU forces some fastbreaks. They are perfect on others. So there's a balance.

The nice part about it is you can certainly counter. But I have seen some passing get a little predictable...

Also, for the person that asked YES, you can turn off the passing icons and still use icon passing for that 100% broadcast feel. And there's a setting for offense and defense, so you can eliminate one and not the other.

1. Have any of you (with the game) notice true signature team play ?
Like SA & BOS & CLE harrasing and playing sofocating D ... or NY & GS & PHO playing O in a hurry ... PHI not taking threes ... and so on ...

2. Could you please confirm if the AI uses the plays on their teams playbook ? ... if you edit them, do they take this into account ? ... or is it like 2K9, where all teams just seem to play the same 8 plays, regarless of your edits ?

i've been hearing a lot about framerate issues, especially in my player mode. can someone try out various camera angles like the 2k cam in different arenas and let us know? this problem was supposed to be fixed last year after the patch but it wasn't. i'll be pretty pissed if this is still a problem.

Hey guys, I'd like to ask....if you've done anything with online play, is the default difficulty setting for online ranked games still AS? If so, is there an option to change the difficulty for online ranked games to SS or HOF? That option was available for all 2Ks except for 2K9. Just wanted to know if they put it back in the game.

How come when I downloaded the momentous trailer on xbox live For 2k10 I noticed that the Lakers paint color is the correct shade. But the vids i've seen of gameplay it has been purple. What's up with that?

The purple they were using in the early trailers was way off too.

It needs to be lighter than what they have now and more of a blueish purple.

If you've played the Live 10 demo, they have it pretty well replicated.

Ok well ive read all 52 pages and first i would like to say do jersey's headbands and accesories affect the game that much? nah jus kidding but my thing is more of an addition question. Do they do the weekly wrap-up in association mode? I have been pushing this for bout two years since college hoops incorporated it in their game if it can be in college i kno it could b in the nba. does anyone esle other than me feeling like they are interested in highlight about other games round the league atleast the good ones from the week if someone went to overtime buzzer beater high point game wateva that would be cool to see atleast to me. hopefully someone else feels like me and wants it in the game. and top plays of the week i wanna see bron bron dunking on damon jones for his 28 10 10 game and not read bout it but maybe i this will get pushed to 2k from this forum cuz i dont kno who to contact and if i in the game den forgive my rant but i wanted to kno if weekly wrap ups were in the game? also jus thought do players show emotion after a game winner immediately or do they still let the ref get it b4 they start celebrating? thanks.

okay, i've read the initial demo impressions as well - and i feel a little nervous as my demo d/ls.. most of my concerns sound valid..

mo/pared, i know you guys are really stretched catering to everyone about here - but any comments on my original post will be much appreciated.

The commentary is just flat out amazing. You'll see in the full game.

I think only you will be able to be the real judge on what you're asking. The weight of the players is very noticeable to me, but I also don't go around trying to cheese the game. I've tried to do it, haven't had much success, but that has never been my MO when I play a game. I don't try to test out things typically. I check things here and there and post what I see. That's how I found the AI not reacting to the PnR accordingly.

Was just wondering if it was not to much to ask if you could let us know about the Free Agents in the game? maybe a list at each position or a couple Screen Shots if you have time?

Out of curiosity, what difficulty level were you playing the game on? I'm assuming the demo is on Pro, and not only is it extremely easy to score, but the CPU has been able to score effortlessly as well.

Any thoughts?

I got one question! Does 2K10 feels a lot different than 2K9?
