SEPTEMBER 11, 2009 - Electronic Arts announced today that a playable demo of NBA LIVE 10 is now available for download on Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace for all Xbox LIVE Gold Subscribers. Play as the Orlando Magic or the Los Angeles Lakers and re-write, or relive, last year’s NBA Finals match-up. The demo will be available to Xbox LIVE Silver members and on the PLAYSTATION® Network™ on September 17th, 2009.

With a renewed focus on creating an authentic 5 on 5 basketball videogame experience, NBA LIVE 10 introduces a myriad of gameplay improvements to the long running franchise. Computer controlled players will now move and react like their real life counterparts with enhanced player A.I. (artificial intelligence), and authentic, team-specific playbooks. In addition, all new dribbling, passing and shooting systems now give users more control over individual players than ever before seen in the franchise. Gamers can now control every movement as they break down a defender on the perimeter, drive to the basket, and finish at the basket using their left or right hand. From dishing no look passes to releasing a step back shot early or late to avoid a block from a defender, NBA LIVE 10 lets you to create highlight reel plays on your terms.

NBA LIVE 10 also features significant improvements in the franchises overall presentation. Arena specific lighting and crowd behaviors, signature pre-game rituals and celebrations, evolving storylines, and an all new broadcast package are just some of the many enhancements that will ensure that NBA LIVE 10 looks and sounds like a real life NBA game.

Yeah that was a good vid. Something I noticed about every video thats been posted when it comes to gameplay including the demo is their all playoff games. I'm wondering what a regular season game experience is gonna be like atmosphere wise, including teams that are during poorly in the season. Will be pretty interesting to see. I remember in the demo last year they game you the ability to back and play a couple of regular season games with the DNA for that game between La and the celtics. Only one option this year though.

I more I get used to player control and off-ball control the more I like it. I tried to play this like 2k9 and I got punished.

Iso around with Kobe? Learned not to do it.

Put the ball on the floor with bigs? Learned not to do it.

Chest passes from half-court? They get picked off.

I constantly have to think on my feet and find good shots. It's not so frustrating anymore because if I turn it over or miss a lot of shots I know it's my fault for doing so.

Starting to dislike this game more and more
The rebounding and defense just come nowhere near 2k in my opinion and I like the AI in 2k10 DC better than this demo.

I like the fact that you can't dribble in traffic too much, but I think it's a little overdone, but if touched up a little bit, that'll be a nice feature. Still like the way shooting is done, although I think it gets into the contact shot animations a little too much.

Anyone else diggin' the big man dunks..I threw down the nasiest dunk last night(Dwight from Jameer on Pau) from just under the ring on the right hand side...its actually hard to explain. I wish we had replay in this because that was honestly the best most realistic dunk i've ever seen in a computer game! IMO the rim sounds are fantastic..

just had to tell someone lol

The ball is getting stolen from me WAY to much, everytime i go into the lane seems like. Can someone tell me why this is happening?

Also it seems like the CPU makes EVERY shot!

Can someone please help me with these issues?

One gripe I have is that whenever Gasol gets the ball he never attempts a jumpshot. Even if I sag off him he'll try to drive. If I try bodying him up he run right past me. I have no problems defending the guards it seems to be only Gasol and Bynum I have trouble stopping.

I had the same problems that you had when I first downloaded the demo.
My advice is to 1.) Practice on ball defense, 2.) take smart shots, 3.) As Czar said, "Play basketball, not videogame basketball".In other words, play like you're on the court irl.
And finally 4.) Let the game grow on you.It took me a while to allow for this game to sink in.
Hope this helped!

EDIT: Dang, you guys beat me to it...

Really? Gasol pops jumpers on me all the time cause i try to stop Kobe driving with Dwight.. i'm dammed if i do and i'm dammed if i don't(just like IRL). I moved to a zone but magic seem to suck in the zone(or maybe the lakers are just that good)

what level you playing on? i'm on superstar, maybe thats part of it????

Anyone else notice that Fisher doesn't have a number on the back of his jersey during tip off?

Hopefully just a demo thing.

Ive noticed the dna seems to be focused on layups, because leave Vince open for a wide open shot... more than likely he won't shoot, but will drive. Try it even with Kobe.. it seems as though they just want to do a specific thing instead of taking advatage of being left wide open. Don't get me wrong once in a while they will shoot open but rarely. It's like only for specific plays and a quick three. Even the 5 on 5 gameplay that Mike Wang put out, its mostly all driving to the hoop. (except golden state and knicks as well as CP3) Maybe this is coincidence? We shall see.

I've been playing on All-Star this whole time. I'll give Superstar a try later on tonight.

I was really frustrated until today because I was getting it stolen too much and it seemed like the computer made all their shots.

Stop playing like you have in games in the past. Think about every possession, pass, and dribble you make. Take dumb shots or don't use that shot clock and you'll lose.

# 1135 Bornindamecca @ 09/23/09 01:15 AM
You don't have to use the clock.

I've found that coming down the court and firing up a jumper, even if it is open, too quickly will miss more often.

I was thinking as I continued to play the demo, that I would unveil some fatal flaw that prevented me from enjoying the game.

Instead, it's only gotten better.

If the retail version cleans up some of the glitchiness, Live is going to get great reviews this year.

Probably because you're shooting off the dribble.

Normal spot-up jumpers work fine. If you're playing as the Lakers and win the tip, you can push the ball up the court and find Ron Artest open in the left corner most of the time. That shot is money. It only works once, though, then the AI adjusts.

Has anyone gotten rim stuffed yet?

Oh and did you know you can deflect passes and get steals with hands up on defense (up on the right stick)? This is real useful when guarding the post entry pass.
