Hey guys -

We're back in full force now after our wind-down, and we've been working on a "FAQ" blog to put out. Posting on forums and answering questions directly on Twitter just hasn't been widespread enough (since we keep getting the same questions asked), so this seemed like the best logical idea.

I've definitely been trying to read everything from the community, but I figured I'd open it up to make sure we gather all the most important questions in one place. We'll close this up by the weekend and try to have the blog out next week.

ONE REQUEST: NO DISCUSSION - JUST QUESTIONS.

To get the big one out of the way:

"When is the first title update coming out, and what is in it?"

The first patch is done on our end and in the hands of 3rd party for approvals, so I *think* we'll be able to release all the details about what's in the 1st title update in the official FAQ blog.

So...fire away!

I haven't seen anyone bring this up, yet, so forgive me if it has been mentioned. I returned a kick and hit the truck stick as a defender was tackling me. He did the animation where he kind of stands the defender up and the defender just laid him over on the ground. The crazy thing is, the refs called a personal foul clipping penalty on the ball carrier. It was a tight game and cost me 15 yards in field position.

Is this something that can be fixed? I've played maybe 8-10 full games and it is the only time it has happened to me. I would have made a video of it, but didn't know how.

at this point, i'm actually hoping someone is posting as Ian, but not actually Ian. That they hacked his account or something.

Only because it is extremely disheartening to think a game that was cleared to go gold nearly two months ago has this many flaws in it, and even worse, that the developers of the game are asking for video proof of these flaws.

or they can't fix it, so now they can act like they didn't know until september and to fix it would cut into Madden 11 programming time (which is really going to be a great game, says FIGJAM EA)

that is crazy that they don't believe the gamers. But I feel you on that madden 11 thing. Why you think people will be fool again to buy this game with bugs. Then again people been doing it for 4 yrs. Hopefully we can get patch that works

Will the CPU be able to aim FG kicks? I've played almost 5 full seasons and every FG attempt the CPU takes the kicker just kicks the ball straight, resulting in a lot of easy misses (<30 yards) because they didn't angle their kick. I even had the CPU miss an 18 yard FG because they kicked it straight from the hash and it bounced off the upright.

In the NFL, a kicker would probably get benched or fired for missing an 18 yard FG.

I hate to try to answer a question in a Q&A thread, but I think it is because they can update it easier because it is server-based. Also, the reason why it is lacking a lot of important features is probably because of time constraints (not trying to make excuses). I hope that all of the answers to questions 2-4 are 'no' because it is apparent that you've given up hope and want it to be confirmed that those things are not a possibility.

Here are my questions on what I hope will be fixed in the patch updates. These are in no particular order:

1. Will random freezing in the main menu and during the game be fixed?
2. Will items such as first down markers load faster on the sidelines?
3. Will lame duck passes be fixed so that the ball will float more towards the direction in which the pass is intended?
4. Will OL/DL interaction be improved, such as pass protection?
5. Will adaptive AI affect passes to the flats?
6. Will stadium chants be included to the game?
7. When will the salary cap and other things which were listed as 'possible updates' be added to online franchise?
8. Will sideline catches be improved such as players trying to keep their feet in bounds?
9. Will running backs get open quicker on screen passes?
10. Will issues with pursuit angles be fixed?
11. Will we know what all of the patches will be about when the Q&A blog is released?

same here, but be carefull, Total Tackles are not being track on Madden.

Their are SOLO Tackles In game stat and Off game stat.

The tackling is just wrong, it`s not a "stats bug".

Are you working on a fix for the fact that you can't get sacks without diving, yet CPU players don't dive for sacks?

Will adds be removed from the game? Isn't it enough that you charge us $60 for the game and more for the DLC if we want it and then we have to look at McDonalds Dollar menu popups on our screen while we play? Honestly enough is enough.

why cant more than ten or so CAP be created? My free agent list doesnt say its full, not every team in league has a full roster. When i finish creating a player, he vanishes...

you can only create 10 players? that sucks.

is it possible to update player faces in the next roster update? too many players have generic faces, and i know nobody cares about the bills, but trent edwards looks like a walking zombie, the cutscenes are becoming more than annoying...

i would also love to see the draft info come back! How are we supposed to know if the guy is a bust or a gem if we dont know what round he was drafted in?

can we have the draft info back?

What is the difficulty in creating in-game saves? And, why hasn't it been brought to next gen? Any plans on ever bringing it back?

So, I have sort of a meta-question:

If you're just now posting a thread asking for questions which you can research and answer, what exactly is the first patch that is ready to be released actually addressing?

I would fervently hope that at least some of these things are already being addressed with the first patch. Can you detail a little more the types of issues that are actually going to be addressed with current and future title patches as opposed to issues that are merely going to be researched for future editions of the title? Thanks.

Could the idea in this thread: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...m-ratings.html possibly be implemented? Using a consistency rating or something like it deciding how often a player actually reaches his current rating? would make more consistent players valuable again.. whether they have GREAT potential or not...
