I hope to be short and simple. I can only speak on what I've experienced and for the most part that's been online franchise.

-----

In your original OF Q&A you stated that the main reason the team went server based was so you could add more features and do extra tweaks and tuning based on community feedback even after the game ships.

Q: How does/will the team determine what updates will be implemented? There has been tons of feedback but we haven't heard ANYTHING on you guys' end, Should we continue to hope for updates to the system and website or is online franchise set for Madden 10?

Q: There are a TON of questions in this thing...What constitutes a fixable or patchable issue, both offline or online? What determines priority?

Q: Are online updates correlated with patches or will online updates continue after a second patch? (assuming there will be two)

Q: What happened to the stadium sounds (and chants)? I miss hearing the cannons in Tampa Bay, lol.

Q: What happened to team/player specific celebrations? No Lambeau Leap?

Q: Are there any plans to address, or discuss, the blocking logic (or lack thereof) of offensive lineman?

Q: Is practice mode a possibility in online franchise? We get new players via draft and FA, but never have a chance to practice with them before diving into a game...SUCKS when you get a new QB.

Q: Have you guys taken a look at the Online Franchise Issues Thread? No need to cringe, thanks to bgdave everything is all one thread clean and neat.

Thanks for your time Ian (and team).
Bumping this post. Good questions.

Lambeau leap is in the game btw. Just in a cutscene form. Not the hideousness it was in for 09.

Re: Madden NFL 10 Q&A Blog with the Dev Team

Rushing touchdowns are EXTREMELY low in simmed seasons...is this being fixed in a patch? Honestly, if I could just sim a season and see some good stats in passing, rushing, receiving, and defense, I'd be ecstatic.

Is the ability to take a screenshot from a replay and upload it to EA Sports World something that can be added to Madden 11? It really helps out franchise reporters.

Any plans to adjust CPU defenses so that slant routes are less effective?

Will instant replays be fixed so they don't cut off the beginning of longer plays?

Can anything be done in a patch about CPU quarterbacks ALWAYS throwing a wild ball instead of taking a sack? If pressure comes on their blind side, they still sense it, and throw the ball away.

Ian-

I haven't seen anyone bring this up, yet, so forgive me if it has been mentioned. I returned a kick and hit the truck stick as a defender was tackling me. He did the animation where he kind of stands the defender up and the defender just laid him over on the ground. The crazy thing is, the refs called a personal foul clipping penalty on the ball carrier. It was a tight game and cost me 15 yards in field position.

Is this something that can be fixed? I've played maybe 8-10 full games and it is the only time it has happened to me. I would have made a video of it, but didn't know how.

at this point, i'm actually hoping someone is posting as Ian, but not actually Ian. That they hacked his account or something.

Only because it is extremely disheartening to think a game that was cleared to go gold nearly two months ago has this many flaws in it, and even worse, that the developers of the game are asking for video proof of these flaws.

For example: At the snap, USER is controlling a D-Lineman. CPU passes to TE on shallow crossing route. Instead of "Switch Player" giving the USER control of the LB in close pursuit, "Switch Player" will give the USER control of the CB, several yards upfield. What gives?

Question: What changed in Madden NFL 10 with "Switch Player"?

Thanks, Ian! Bring on Madden NFL 10.5!

YES! I want to know this too! It has really hindered my playing ability.

Yo I think that it is crazy that they want video proof of the flaws. That to me makes it seem that they think people are lying or something. All these flaws have multiple people saying the same thing, so there must be some validation to everyones complaints.

or they can't fix it, so now they can act like they didn't know until september and to fix it would cut into Madden 11 programming time (which is really going to be a great game, says FIGJAM EA)
