Lol I was complaining to my wife last night around 1 that I wish I had a crappier job because I would stay up all night playing.

I've never played a Hot Shots before. I have always kept my golf games pretty serious - starting with the Nicklaus game on Nintendo when I was like 8. But, this game is great! The sound of the perfect impact really hits a reward center in your brain.

I went 3-0 in Turf War last night - that's a pretty fun mode. I did an 'open course' online, but that was just me playing against other hole scores posted by people. Where do I go to play simultaneously with a bunch of people running free on the course?

This series (AKA Hot Shots Golf) always sucks me in also. It's silly and goofy and yet in depth and so fun to play. Not sure if it's as good as my favorite Hot Shots Golf 3, but a much needed game for the Ps4 and took so long. but finally here!

I need impressions please.

I think it's because EG is more of a video game. There's a lot going on with things to unlock, leveling up, etc. TGC is just golf. It's all there for you at the beginning, and the lack of a real reason to play single player catches up pretty quick.

I haven't played much TGC2 since I am still waiting on TGCTours to kick off. Next week, I will have to find a way to play both games because EG doesn't feel like it's going to take a back seat.

Everybody's Golf has always been the best since Hot Shots on PS1. The ball physics are 2nd to none.

I got several hours in last night. Early impression: I love this game. There are some issues and questionable design decisions but the bottom line is it plays a fun game of golf.

I'm currently at level 6 and ranked up to 2. The challenge is starting to increase now that I'm playing on the Amateur courses. Birdies are not coming as easily as before and I've had a couple bogeys. I'm missing putts I normally would have had no problems with earlier. The greens are a little trickier and less forgiving. I'm not complaining. I'm actually pleased to see this. I'm still trying to figure out the backspin because several of my approached are going further than I would like.

I unlocked a new caddie and have only played one round of 9 with him. Not sure if he brings any further benefits or not. It is a nice change from the overly cheerful Suka. By the way, I experimented in trying out solo play with the pre-order DLC court. Can't remember the exact course name but it was pretty unforgiving. The greens especially were not easy!

Loving this game! I will say if you don't like to grind to level up your player, you may not enjoy it as much as I currently am.

All I can say is the game is addictive and fun. Can't wait to rush home from work

By the way check out reviews of the game and the lowest review score i was able to find was 80/100 with most ranging from 80-90. Truly one of the better games out there.

I'm level 3 and several guys on here say a new caddy appeared to them at that level yet I don't see anything. Where do you go to see the new caddy?

If you are a fan of the series already (Hot Shots Golf) then it's a slam dunk.

I thought leveling your character would get tedious but it's actually pretty interesting how differently I've attacked certain holes based on how leveled up my clubs were. I also find myself changing clubs to specifically level them up.

As long as you don't mind the cartoon-y characters the gameplay is top notch. There is also enough content Offline on its own if you can't hop Online.

How's the soundtrack? Out of bounds had the worst soundtrack I can remember. I enjoyed Hot Shots Golf 3 and Fore's soundtrack extensively. Custom soundtrack would be so amazing. Imagine playing this game with Mozart or ACDC in the background? haha.

Are there 6 courses?

I don't know if it's a new caddy but I unlock 2 new characters but I still have the generic female caddy from the start of the game. I'm at level 4.

I pre-ordered the game digitally and it was already downloaded by the time I played the game so can't say how long the download took. The download size is just shy of 16 GB.

They will appear in your "Home" Area after ranking up. Once you talk to them they will join you. After that you press Options then go to Customize>Caddies and there will be a list of the ones you have unlocked.

If you don't have any of them standing around in your home area it might be bugged

EDIT: Also, do you mean Level 3 or Rank 3?

ok, well I haven't really walked around and talked to some of these people so that may be the case. I'll have to get on that and see if that is where they are lurking.

I think there are 5 with 1 more as a pre-order bonus. plus there's one more (or two if you didn't pre-order) that's available from psn store as a DLC. The problem is that initially there will be only one course open to you and you have to play through the single payer mode to unlock the courses.

That leads me to the things that could've been improved upon. They are minor but definitely something which would improve the overall experience...

1. All the courses should be accessible in offline multiplayer mode at least. if i want to play an offline mode with my buddies or want to have a quick round of golf,i should be able to select any course I want to choose.

2. In game instructions could be enhanced. As an example the game told me to "it's a low lie and you need to increase the elevation" or "you would hit the obstacle and need to lower the elevation" but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to increase or decrease the elevation. maybe the game should have a pop-up which says "hold the d-pad down to increase elevation" or some such.

3. The "3 click control" doesn't work as well for putting, especially the gimmes. The game actually penalises you for hitting a great approach shot coz if you are within 2-5 feet of the ball, it's difficult to mash the button to get the right amount of power. I missed a couple of easy putts coz I wasn't able to nail the power accurately owing to the power indicator/flag too close to the start of the meter. Maybe a bigger impact zone for easy putts is the way to go.

But that's nitpicking coz the game plays really well and guarantees you hours of fun.

I got a new caddy after I reached Rank 2 and he's an improvement on that default caddie who starts grating on your nerves after a while

You will have to find the caddy in the home/hub area. I was looking around in the home area coz the game told me "a new item is available in the home area" or some such. I came across this bloke standing there and I pressed X and the guy said he could be my caddy. After that all you need to do is go to the customization menu by pressing options and go to "caddy" and select the new one.

By the way i was never able to find the item that's supposed to be somewhere in the home area as I keep on getting a pop-up for the same but finding this new caddy was worth it.

Finally unlocked Karts! Pretty sure I am only missing Fishing now...

There are a couple things I have noticed while playing, maybe it'll help a few of you guys too.

1. Even if you hit Perfect Impact you might slightly push or pull your shot. If you look in the bottom left corner after you swing there is a picture of the club you're using and a small meter with a line in the middle of it. If the dot appears in the middle it should go right where you aimed, but it will not always be there. I am pretty sure this is the 'sway' mechanic that's talked about when leveling up the Control of a Club. Sometimes, even with Perfect Impact, I will notice I am still hitting the ball off center.

2. It seems like Backspin Shots will cause more 'sway'. I find that whenever I hit a Backspin Shot I will hit it off center 8 times out of 10. This has caused me to miss the Green quite a few times already so sometimes it will be better to simply run the ball up to the hole.

I couldn't get the Manual to load at all so maybe it covers these things already but they are really sticking out to me at the moment.
