I've been watching some streams and I have yet to see a bad shot. How challenging is this? I understand the arcade look but will it present any type of challenge?

You'll only see the easiest courses on early streams. Later ones should challenge you both on driving/shot placement and accuracy as well as green reading, if series history is any indication.

Getting a perfect meter shot in Hot Shots isn't difficult with practice. But there are a lot of other factors that determine where the ball is going to stop rolling, and it's pretty hard to visualize them all.

I decided to do a digital download this evening and it's taking FOREVER. I'm only at 4GB with a little over an hour and fifteen minutes to go.

So looking forward to playing this game this evening. Oh how I've missed this series.

Loving it so far. Quite a bit more of the "easy" course options than I expected right out of the gate, but it's pretty easy to blow through 9 hole tournaments with Mega/Tornado cup. Seems like you have to play for a while to unlock even the 2nd 9 holes of the first course, let alone other courses.

Use serious mode in the single-player tournaments if you want to gain experience (and therefore progress) a bit faster. It makes the tournament opponents score better, but it's still very beatable espicially with the special cup rules.

I like that they kept the auto-shot-recording features in for this game on chip-in birdie and higher, even though the PS4 has it's own recording options.

Only a few problems I've had with the game so far. It's soft-locking when I go into "Turf War" mode. No one ever joins, leaving me in a menu screen after the course loads and I can only shut down the game. I also notice the frame rate drop sometimes while wandering around the course in open mode, even on the pro. It's a little jarring, but fortunately I haven't seen it do that while actually golfing.

I have a late meeting at work today, which means it will be late tonight before I can play.

Who schedules a meeting on the day that the new Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf game releases?

Couple of quick questions as I won't be able to access the game till end of day...

1. Can you play 18 holes in offline multiplayer mode? Would prefer playing 18 holes over the 9 holes I keep seeing in the gameplay videos.

2. Is the offline multiplayer mode fair to both the players? What I mean is say I play with my character and level up the clubs and my character. And then I've a offline multiplayer game with my buddies, would my character be able to hit the ball farther and generally be much better than the new character the other person will need to use? Is there an option in the game so the offline multi-player match/mode is fair to both the players and doesn't factor in the progression of the characters?

Went through the multiplayer menu screens and I can answer these for you:

1: Once you unlock the back 9 holes on a course you'll have the option to play all 18 in offline multiplayer. For the first course, Eagle City, that means advancing to rank 2 (getting enough XP to challenge and defeat the first 3 Vs. opponents). The preorder course, Green Country Club, is fully open from the outset if you own it. I'm assuming the DLC course is as well, although I don't own it yet.

2. For offline you CAN use your character and progression data, but you don't have to. On the character screen you can choose the character appearance from some presets as well as what progression level you want your character to be at - High, Mid, or Low. Any gear you've unlocked (clubs and balls) will be available here too.

Finally, there's a handicap option which starts players below par depending on what number you set. Just another way of evening the playing field.

It looks like the multiplayer mode's done really well in this game, with not forcing your current character on you. Have fun!

Thanks for the reply. Can't wait to get home from work and teeing off

Very happy with what little I have played thus far (18 holes). This game is just so full of atmosphere and fun. In the two matches I've played, there's 3 other CPU players teeing off at the same time. They're running down the course while I'm taking my time. It can be a little nerve racking, but it adds to the craziness. There's definitely quite a bit of RPG elements to the game. Your clubs increase with greater distance and effectiveness the more you use them, granted you hit a good shot. The game is very accessible and relatively easy out of the gate, but I anticipate the challenge to increase as I level up. Currently, I'm at level 3. I have hit a few balls in to the rough but have been able to save par. I hit a second shot from 137 yards out and eagled the hole. It was a pretty cool feeling. Putting's been fun and I love hearing the other players or fans telling me to relax, take your time, you got this, etc....And when the ball does go in the cup, you hear it from your tv or surround sound speakers, but also from your controller speaker. Love that. I'm ready to challenge the first boss and they each have their own traits and personality. Just another feature that adds to the life of the game.

There's a lot of customization edits you can make for you character. Of course, you earn new accessories and personality traits as you win rounds of golf. Some people won't care about this while others will really create some zany looking characters.

I played last night at 11 and again this morning before work. I'm looking forward to really diving deeper in to this game this evening. So far, it's been a nice change of pace from the serious sports games I'm more accustomed to playing.

I'm joining the club - looks awesome. Does make me miss outlaw golf 1 though, that to me was the best golf game of all time - loved the mechanics as well as the looks and steve carell was hilarious too.

Still got it.

Smoked the all of the CPU's by over 10 strokes - apparently they don't play well in the rain, even on serious mode. Free XP if you get a rainy tournament and swing harder than you normally do.

I preordered the game yesterday, hopefully it will be downloaded and ready to go on my PS4 tonight to play. Loved the PS3 version of the game, never really got into the Vita version but that was just because of the Vita.

Game is fun!-No surprises there.. Probably playing most off the day since I'm off and it's raining.
