Nope, no tourney. Haven't seen any info on when the next is. I'm not even disappointed though. After the dismal rewards for the last one I might as well play single player tournaments. At least they give you something and progress your stats while you play.

This game is so dead. I haven't played in weeks. The lack of online daily tourneys have just run it into the ground for me. I did read there is a new tournament finally though. Qualifier runs till the 4th if anyone is interested.

I still love this game, but haven't been able to play lately. But yeah, don't know how they couldn't handle just a bunch of online tournaments. I was hoping they could do like five a week, but instead they're doing one every five weeks!

I am going to have to spend tomorrow practicing! Forgot there was an International Tournament going on and I have barely played lately.

Anyone know if the Clubs are capped like last time? I am hoping every Tournament will be like that. Nice, even playing field.

Finally got around to playing my Qualifying Round for EG Cup 2 last night...

I got pretty darn lucky with the Strong Wind. It was going with me on a couple holes where I could drive up close for an Eagle. Finished -22... Don't know how I shot much better on a (slightly) harder course compared to the first EG Cup on Eagle City.

Hope I get some more luck with the wind during the Finals!

Spoiler

I believe it ends today? It might have actually just ended. Not 100% sure but I know it was January 4 and the servers usually roll over at 4pm Pacific.

Damn, thanks anyway.

Yeah, I think the score to make the cut is set beforehand. It was EVEN for this event but a vast majority of players did better than that.

I could only go 260 with the 1W in the IT. Normally 280 is the longest distance with the standard clubs. Is that how it is for everybody or did it glitch for me?

I'm a bit surprised at how quickly the buzz died off for this game. I'm curious, why did this one not strike the usual chord with Playstation gamers? For me, it was the lack of an advanced swing option. Hot Shots OOB and WI really hooked me with the advanced swing option (mostly because it's real time and allows me to watch the golfer for cues instead of a meter) they each offered. EG seemed to take a significant backward step without advanced swings, IMO.

For me it was the "pay to win" concept related to gem hunting. Once I reached Level 7 and found out that I had to level up my golf sets (custom golf clubs) to be competitive, I gave up. I get a few hrs every week for gaming and I don't want to spend them chasing gems on the golf course just to level up the clubs.

IMO if they had tied custom clubs to the coins that you earn as part of regular golfing gameplay i would've continued but I can't be bothered performing non-golfing tasks in a golf game. I would still have managed to look past the whole "gem hunting" thing if it had been a one off, i.e. you level up your custom clubs and then you are set. But the fact that the custom clubs need to be "repaired" at regularly and can "break" means that gem hunting would be an ongoing thing which I simply couldn't get into.

Other than the gems piece the one other gameplay related aspect which started bothering me was the random results of nailing the perfect shot. In some cases I nailed the shot perfectly and saw the ball deviate from where it should've gone. Occasionally I found the resulting shot to be more accurate with a bit of an error compared to the so called "perfect" shot. I don't know whether they patched the perfect shot to be perfect and reduce the randomization a bit but it definitely reduced my enthusiasm for the game once I got better at it.

It was fine for me, but once I kind of "finished" the game (and I haven't finally done it yet) it has kind of knocked me off the deep-end there.

I would play it at least a few times a week if they had weekly international tournaments, but it appears they are monthly.

I only engaged in the gem hunting once, and that was enough to demonstrate to me that it wasn't worth it. It's regrettable that the the grinding or pay to win element is so strongly now a part of this game.

I got so little out of these tournaments... I thought the winning scores in most of The Golf Club 2's Official tournaments were ridiculous, but the scores I see in Everybody's Golf's tournaments don't look like a sport I'm familiar with.

I think gem-hunting would have been more fun if you earned them based on good online rounds. When I found out that you can just enter a course and "get them," they didn't seem as great anymore.

Yup the "gem hunting" should've been part of the actual core golf gameplay... maybe you get gems for winning a tournament or winning a round of golf instead of winning coins. Making gems tied to non-golfing activities such as running around a golf course was a ridiculous decision and I'm sure there are lots of folks like me who gave up on the game due to such idiotic game design choices.

It's a shame really as the game is pretty good overall and quite addictive. It's just that when you reach higher levels and have to start gem hunting when you realize the game may not be so great after all.
