Gotta beat Rank 6. Was kinda weird they decided to give the course out that late but you'll play it a lot during Special Rank after beating the game

Disappointed towards the end and not too much into it after getting Custom Clubs. This whole thing about ramping/building up custom clubs using Gems reeks of "pay-to-win". I play the game to golf and not to hunt around courses for gems and other stuff. Or let me upgrade custom clubs using coins you get while playing the game instead of gems.

Im hoping for some DLC courses down the road.
Would like to see a course where you can hole out doing bank shots off of different items. sort of like a mini golf course but for actually golf.

Just beat my final Special VS Character... Now I just have to get those Condors and I will have my platinum. Really not looking forward to it, already tried it for 2 hours the other night and lipped 3 of them

You just need to max out your custom clubs once, which is 110 gems. If you're going for the Gallery Members you'll end up getting a lot of them during the Special Rank tournaments.

Just put everything into Power and you'll have pretty much the same Clubs as everyone else. The only difference is how lucky you get leveling them up (it can increase by 1, 2, or 3 every time you level it up. So you can end up anywhere between 11-33. Most people end up around 16, I think mine are 17 iirc)

The highest I have ever seen is 22. Purchasing tickets instead of using gems doesn't increase your luck.

Getting to 110 gems is what bothers me. I played a few special rank tourneys but I barely get 1 or 2 gems after completing one tourney. That will take me forever to get to 110 gems. I'm not the one to run around or hunt for gems and IMO devs should have linked coins or playing golf to getting gems/upgrading club.

Have barely touched the game over the last couple of weeks and if some new courses don't drop soon that will be it for the game. I guess will move on to FIFA or Madden in a week or two depending on whether the upcoming Madden patch fixes the major bugs. If it doesn't then will will go for FIFA 18.

But yeah EG devs had a great chance to make this game a classic but the "pay to win" aspect sort of killed it for me. How the core gameplay (special clubs with enhanced attributes) is linked to gems/paywall concept is disappointing.

That’s the one I used. Hole 12 on Alpina. You don’t have to actually hit the house but you have to skip the water with top spin. I got all three of mine doing ultra top left spin and had my ball go over the left side of the roof but to the right of the tree. Calm wind and short tees would be perfect but you can do it on long tees with normal wind (I did them all last night those settings)

You’ll need a club with at least 348 power (long tees or short) and lots of patience. Pick a spot on the tee box and stick to it, also remember where you aim. The wind is always changing but you can usually get a shot or two off under the same wind conditions.

I’ll upload my condors tomorrow if you need more help visualizing what I mean.

I don't understand custom clubs at all. I need a good tutorial on them. Even articles online don't help.

Why do they need repair? What if I don't repair them? How will I know when they need repair? How much does it cost to repair?

Does using them help upgrade them as well, or does it upgrade with gems only?

What happens if I recycle my clubs? What happens if I continue using them then recycle them?

What are the custom clubs like if I collect 50 gems? Are they "higher up" and have more potential to upgrade?

It seems with my base custom clubs, I can only get to about 330 yards on my driver if I kept upgrading power up ten levels, whereas I see other people get 360 yards on their drivers, etc.

It is just such a confusing aspect of the game to me, and yet I barely ever get any gems. I might have collected 15 total since playing this game, though as I understand it you can collect a lot in Rank 7, though I'm still not seeing too many.

"Custom Clubs" is nothing but pay-to-win embedded within Everybody's Golf. You need to hunt around for days collecting gems, which has nothing to do with golf, to upgrade your custom clubs. You need upgraded custom clubs to get various trophies and compete with opponents in Special rank. If Custom Clubs was a one off thing I would still be grudgingly ok with it but unfortunately a set of custom Club has a life of 10 rounds (180 holes IIRC) based on what I read on neogaf. If this is not "pay-to-win" I don't know what it is.

I was hoping for Hot Shots Out of Bounds with new courses and better graphics. Not too crazy about what they've done to this game at all.

They will wear down randomly after being used in a number of rounds and it costs 10 gems to repair them. When 'broken' you can still use them, but it will no longer have a little flag icon on the power bar telling you how far away the hole is.

Does using them help upgrade them as well, or does it upgrade with gems only?

It only upgrades with gems, but your Power/Control/Backspin/Backdoor stats are universal so you will still be leveling those up.

What happens if I recycle my clubs? What happens if I continue using them then recycle them?

Recycling just lets you level them up again. If you don't like how your Clubs ended up or if you want to level it differently then it's smart to recycle them. Every time you level up the Club it will gain 1-3 points in whatever stat you choose so your Club can finish with anywhere between 11-36 points.

What are the custom clubs like if I collect 50 gems? Are they "higher up" and have more potential to upgrade?

Just another set. Some people like having a couple sets with different stats (One with nothing but power, one with some power some control, etc.)

It seems with my base custom clubs, I can only get to about 330 yards on my driver if I kept upgrading power up ten levels, whereas I see other people get 360 yards on their drivers, etc.

It will randomly level up the stat 1-3 points when upgrading, power maxes out at 25 so you could get a Driver that can hit 380 if you're lucky enough.

It is just such a confusing aspect of the game to me, and yet I barely ever get any gems. I might have collected 15 total since playing this game, though as I understand it you can collect a lot in Rank 7, though I'm still not seeing too many.

In Special Rank you will generally get 1-3 Gems for 9 Hole Rounds and 1-5 for 18-Hole Rounds. Atleast from my experience... When I was leveling up mine I just grabbed the free ones from each open course Online (You can get 1-4 from each, sometimes it will give you 2 gems not only one) so if you grabbed them from every stage you could get around 30, the DLC courses also have item holes so that'd be another 8-12. It took me about an hour to collect them each day until I fully upgraded my Clubs. I like where they're at so I don't farm the gems anymore

Thanks. Still a bit confused about the recycling. Is it like prestiging in COD?

And thanks, I think I meant Special Rank, not Rank 7 (unless they're one the same).

Recycling doesn't do anything special, it just resets your Club to 0 so you can level it up with gems again.

Are they recyclable an infinite amount? I thought I read they don't upgrade the same or something after being recycled.

I'm only rank 5 so my question is about the other clubs. Is there a drawback to using clubs like the Big Air set over the standard clubs? From what I can see they don't degrade and they have the same impact zone as standard clubs.

Big Air, Pin Hole and other clubs can be used indefinitely just like Standard clubs. I initially favored Pin Hole as it gives you more control and then started using Big Air exclusively for extra distance/power as I got better. Custom clubs are the only ones which need to be recycled/repaired and degrade over time.

Some info on things to come. A national tournament mode coming next and three new courses. Google translated from a Japanese site, http://www.4gamer.net/games/272/G027216/20170831177/

Quote:
Also, information on the update was released here.*At the moment, updates such as "national convention", "expansion of competition room", "function expansion element that can be played in open course", "one-shot mission", "avatar copy ranking" and "additional course delivery" are planned.*
The national tournament competes with the players nationwide on the online for a certain period of time.*It is divided into qualifying and main battle, and it seems that there is a possibility of getting rare items if it keeps good results.*We are planning to hold this national competition in the future.

Haven't played in weeks.

Really need to get back into this.

# 399 WooCRISPY @ 10/29/17 04:53 PM
Huh... I recently stopped playing this because I already have my Platinum and my Playstation Plus ran out a couple weeks ago. I hopped on the other day and to my amazement I was still able to hop Online and do the Daily Tournament.

Today I was given the Participation Bonus for playing the Round. It appears that you do NOT need Playstation Plus to play Online. I don't know if that'll be different for the Online Tournaments when that's released but as of right now you can access everything without PS+

National Tournament update and a new course DLC, Namron Bay Country Club, will be on November 20th.

https://www.jp.playstation.com/blog/...newmingol.html

Quote:
"National Tournament" delivered by free large update of Monday, November 20 (Monday) is an online only mode where all participants compete for scores.*It is a two-part system of "qualifying" and "final", and the top scorer in "qualifying" advanced to "final".*The regulations differ for each competition, as there are restrictions on clubs and balls (gears) that can be used, and it will be a game in bad weather.
So club and ball restrictions can be in place for tournaments. Very good.

Also of note, looks like we'll be able to move from open course to open course without returning to the home area. Will save a lot of time collecting gems.
