Grinded it last night and finished my Fishing Encyclopedia Good news is that you do not need the Fish from the DLC Courses (that would have been bad)

I want to go back to something that was discussed earlier in the thread, Custom Clubs. I know there was a lot of commotion when people found out about them but I think it was overblown for the most part. I did not farm gems at all and I have already maxed out my Custom Clubs and will be 'recycling' them for the first time. Yes, some people spent money to max them out right away but if you take the time to farm Gems it will not take long to make progress yourself.

Also, you do NOT level up the Custom Clubs. They use the same Power/Control/Backspin/Backdoor stats as your other ones. The only thing you level up is the overall stat (Big Air has 8 Power, Pin Hole has 7 Control, you can make Custom Clubs with 8 Power + 7 Control, etc.) which cost 10 Gems each time. After that you recycle the Club and level it up again.

You can acquire 2-3 Gems from every item hole in each lobby... So you can farm 20+ Gems by picking them up on the courses. Once you reach Special Rank (Beat Rank 6) you can get anywhere from 1-5 Gems as a prize for completing a tournament. Fishing the rare '???' fish can also reward you Gems.

So yes, there is definitely a "Pay2Progress" thing going on but if you decide to take the time to farm Gems you will have no problem leveling up your own set. I did not farm my gems, I have only gotten Gems through playing tournaments, fishing, and doing the daily tournament.

EDIT: Forgot about the new update. Played a round last night in a 30 person lobby and... had no lag! So happy! Also it looks like when you begin a 9-Hole Round it will default to whatever Club and Ball you used last instead of starting with Standard/Standard which is great.

its back 9.:hole 3.
even the t shot is tough because it can roll down left into the water. second shot is misleading because i always hit it short unless i use power shot or aim way right.

Downloading the patch now, so I'll hop on and check it out in a few minutes.

Okay, so a few things:

1) You're going to want to leave the tee shot as far right as you can without getting in the treeline (you won't end up in the fairway-side bunker as long you don't get that far over) That's because you absolutely don't want to be too far left in the standard club drive landing zone - that fairway area around 250-280 feeds right off the cliff.

2) The second shot is tricky because it's uphill, and the game won't auto select your club to adjust for that height difference (it usually doesn't, so always be ready to adjust for elevation changes). 12 yards uphill is enough to give the shot one extra club and maybe 2 depending on wind conditions. It's better if you go too long rather than too short there anyway. If you've hit your tee shot too far to the right just try to play for the green's center instead of pin hunting - that's a decision you have to make sometimes in this game and it's just not always worth it to go straight for the pin.

Hope that helps!

Came 1.2 feet away from my first hole in one in this game. Was rolling right on line to the hole and just ran out of energy. So frustrating lol

Another irritating thing is on really short putts, having to do the three clicks for a full swing, on a putt thats like a foot, is pretty unnecessary.

Caddies are a huge let down compared to past games, and character creation is not really that great either. Courses are beautiful, and the rest of the gameplay seems pretty on point.
I miss unlocking personalities. I also miss Sakura extensively. I also miss the different seasons.

Game looks and plays great on the pro with hdr and 4k. I also wish there was seasons but regardless it's a darn perty game.

Finally bagged my first Hole-in-One sooo happy I'll throw it in the highlight thread later... Thought I was never going to get the darn thing after putting the ball within a half-foot on multiple occasions.

Still haven't achieved an Albatross or Condor though... I have come within a foot of an Albatross a couple times already but not actually in.

I just read this entire topic trying to get a true feel for this game. I've never played a Hot Shots (Everybody's Golf) game before, but this sounds like it might satisfy my golfing needs for awhile. I enjoy EA Sports Rory McIlroy, but I need something new and different and haven't ever really gotten into TGC.

Is there an actual course list anywhere? I see the two DLC courses on the Playstation website, but what other courses are in the game? I know they all have to be unlocked, but I want to know how much content I'll be getting with the game. Also, has Sony already said they will be releasing more courses through DLC in the future, or is everyone just hoping they will?

I'm sorry for the course question, but after reading everything here, I couldn't find an actual list.

Right now there are 5 Courses with the game that you unlock plus 2 more DLC Courses. In Japan there is actually a Season Pass and they've released a decent amount of DLC in their previous games so I don't see why it would change now. A good bonus is that the game isn't $60 retail which is nice. The only major drawback you might have is that the game uses the old-school '3-click system' for hitting the ball.

I wasn't able to find a list or pictures online of all the courses (and I am not trying to peddle my youtube channel) but in my signature I have a bunch of VS Matches and I have to believe I've faced them on every course by now if you want to see what they look like during gameplay. Otherwise off the top of my head...

1. Eagle City G.C. - First course, very basic. Setting is that of a major city.
2. Alpina Forest - Lots of hills with mountains/forest as the setting. Some holes feature large elevation changes.
3. Kanaloa Beach Resort - A beach (duh) slight bump in difficulty, some holes have unique layouts that use the 'beach' theme well.
4. Vortex Valley - The first Course that has a good spike in difficulty. Definitely uses the Grand Canyon as its theme, lots of changes in elevation.
5. Imperial Garden - Hardest course in the game at the moment. Classic 'Euro'-feeling course that also features pot bunkers and long grass.
6. (DLC) Green C.C. - Original Course from the first ever Hot Shots Golf game. Very basic but features popular background music that was in the original.
7. (DLC) Balata C.C - Course from Hot Shots Golf 2. Another basic course.

(Edit) Another thing to note, each 9-Hole (IN) and (OUT) are considered their own "Lobbies" during Online play, so when you unlock all 5 Courses and go online there are 10 Lobbies in total (14 if you have both DLC Courses)

Im loving the vortex valley.
Seems like there is alot of opportunities for some bank shots. and lots of different ways to play the holes. Very tricky course.

I want to do Turf War with a bunch of OS'ers. Seems like a lot of fun. Is there team voice chat in it?

Unfortunately, no. You can't pair up with friends either (to my knowledge). I have been able to play with my Brother by having both of us queue at the same time but you can't choose which team you're on.

I really love the game and have put a TON of hours into it already, but it still needs some major changes to Online. There needs to be an incentive to play Turf War... Maybe give a couple gems?

Long time ago I used to play PangYa online and this looks similar, don't know if it's related or not but I picked this up on Monday. Got to rank 3 last night and have lot lots of questions.

What are daily activities that should be done? Found the open course last night and played 1 hole rounds till I got birdie or better to get bonus coins. Didn't play the 9 hole daily though, what's rewarded for that? Found some coins, a couple gems, and some items while wandering the course. I could only access one course though. Do each of the others have daily activities once they are unlocked? Or just one course a day chosen as the bonus?

I see the items of the month page in the store, will these all expire in a couple days when the month ends? I've got to rack up some coins to purchase some things. Only have like 2,500 or so right now.

When do I get to fish?

Last, for now, should I not even worry about leveling up other clubs till I reach max rank? What about balls? Just been using standard clubs and ball for now.

Bonus question for Blzer, if you read, have you tried remote play on the Vita yet? How'd it fare?

Glad i scooped this one up on a sick day. Actually had some time in between naps to play some. And its pretty sweet. Still figuring things out, but definitely worth the $39.99 i paid.

They changed the title but it's a continuation of the "Hot Shots Golf" Series. There have been a good amount of games in the Series so if you really enjoy Everybody's Golf it wouldn't be a bad idea to try the older ones! They have aged pretty well and I go back to play them all the time.

What are daily activities that should be done? If you don't mind grinding then you can grab all the Gems and Items from each Item Hole on every course. Gems are especially useful postgame! Found the open course last night and played 1 hole rounds till I got birdie or better to get bonus coins. Didn't play the 9 hole daily though, what's rewarded for that? You get an item that's only available this month and some coins depending on how well you do. Found some coins, a couple gems, and some items while wandering the course. Every course will have one "item hole" which will contain these, so every course will have one including the DLC courses. I could only access one course though. Do each of the others have daily activities once they are unlocked? Yes, they will all have one "item hole" and all will have their own fishing spots with unique fish Or just one course a day chosen as the bonus? One Course is given the "Course Bonus" everytime the server resets (5PM Pacific) that course will reward you with one of the Monthly Items the day after you complete a 9-Hole Round on it.

I see the items of the month page in the store, will these all expire in a couple days when the month ends? I've got to rack up some coins to purchase some things. Only have like 2,500 or so right now. Not 100% sure since we haven't had it happen yet but I believe those items will change every month. The "Monthly Items" from this month will be added to the store for purchase if you haven't earned them Online. The items removed wouldn't be gone forever though, you can still copy them off of Gallery Members that possess them.

When do I get to fish? When you defeat the VS Character "Kato" found in Rank 4

Last, for now, should I not even worry about leveling up other clubs till I reach max rank? What about balls? Just been using standard clubs and ball for now. You don't level up multiple Clubs or Balls, they just have a Bonus on them. The Power/Control/Backspin/Backdoor of your Clubs are universal, switching Clubs/Balls just gives you a boost (Grass Cutter Ball lets you hit 100% from Rough, Big Air Clubs give you a boost in Power, etc.)

Bonus question for Blzer, if you read, have you tried remote play on the Vita yet? How'd it fare?
Think I covered all of it. If you have any other questions let me know!

So I was writing a response on another computer, but shut it down when I had to leave before I could finish.

I'll just say that it's pretty good, pretty much identical to my TV. My TV isn't perfect response (and by that I mean when I play on lag-free sets, I almost feel like the visual command happens before my input, whereas when I play on TV it feels more so "on-time"), but it works right in sync with it.

What was interesting was when I took my base PS4 on vacation and did Remote Play there, then went back and did Remote Play on my PS4 Pro and was really amazed at seeing how well 60 FPS was handled with it afterward. It's nice that it can do it so well.

Of course, every so often I get connection choppiness, and of course it always seems to happen on my meter time to time. Never actually shanked a shot on this game though, so that's good.

Skill-level wise though, I sit around 40% perfect impact, no matter what set I have played on.

This game is flat out addicting! My son and I are enjoying our first experience with this series a great deal. We haven't played much single-player mode, but I bought both DLC courses to give us a little more to play for now. We'll enjoy it even more once we play more single player and unlock the rest of the courses.

We love it though!! I'm glad I read this thread last week!
