Few thoughts:

I like the critical situations option...I think I'll definitely use this.

The quick manage option is a really good addition.

I was really hoping for more stats and such.

No mention whether the quirks could be edited by the user; they said they can update them thru roster updates though?

Overall...I love the game and have bought it since 2009...but this is the first year I've been underwhelmed by the reveals of the game this close to release. I'm still going to buy it because it's still a great B+ game but there's still a few things that can be done with franchise in terms of overall team depth that can be done (advanced scouting, training, coaching, add'l stats, player tendencies, etc.).

We would really like to know if rotating interleague schedules are in?

I'm wondering if the budget changes including Cash Flow is groundwork for more extensive changes in MLB 18 - owner like features that some people are wanting, maybe more detailed contract logic like extensions, etc. Just a thought.

Pretty underwhelming stream. Was hoping to hear information about online franchises as well. Everything they covered was already covered in the short clips released earlier this week with the exception of prospect screen and money screen. Did like the information on quirks though.

I'm really looking forward to quick manage but I wish there was more in depth features regarding FA, so on. I'm in the same boat as you...

Have to admit I was a bit disappointed with the direction that stream took. I know they had to show off their new features but I was hoping we'd get more of the obscure, smaller things that the videos earlier in the week didn't cover. The closest we got to that was the PCI size comparison on Player quirks (which was nice to see, granted - it was something I was curious about and it's good we'll be able to see the difference in-game).

I'm glad I went into the stream not expecting anything else being revealed. The stream was mostly about the quicker ways to play the game.

Here's the HDR confirmation.

Did they touch at all on player progression? I missed some parts

Another reminder of how many PS4's have been sold in the last year (I believe it was around 10 million consoles just in 2016??). Tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people will be buying The Show for the first time ever, or at least the first time this generation.

interesting how the game views prospects, Margot at #2 and Benintendi not in top10.

Dang. No mention if interleague schedule was fixed. Really wanted this in.

So no change to the mechanics of team building or how the AI makes decisions. Disappointing but I know I'll still have fun playing franchise since it's already pretty good. However the little things missing are annoying. Hopefully it's the focus of next year's cycle especially scouting of the draft and player development.

The top prospects list, quick manage, and quirks are good additions. Once the rosters drop, I be spending most over my time in franchise like usual.

So basically, they added 3 new ways to play the game faster, without actually playing the game, and left the rest of the mode essentially the same. Did they not realize all the actual FRONT OFFICE tasks that should be in franchise mode are not there?

Don't get me wrong they have worked their butts off this year. They have added new items and fixed a lot of the big legacy issues. I'm just disappointed that this is what they chose to put their time into for franchise mode.

I'll give you a like but also hate you at the same time. I've never missed a giveaway on any stream since they started doing them and have won zilch.

Not that I expect to win with as many viewers as there are in the stream, many who are there only for the giveaway, but there is always a tiny bit of hope that just maybe it could be my week.

Not much of a Deep Dive. Same stuff as the Franchise Mode Tour videos posted the past 2 days.

Quirks are cool, Top Prospects list is nice (wish it also showed season stats)

No mention of Inter-League Schedules Rotating.

No mention on how Critical Moments work in 30-team Franchise.

Weekly Cash Flow is nice but does it really change that much during a season? Unless you make trades/play well it will be the same each week.

No mention of Improved Free Agency/Scouting/Drafting/Progression, Editing Coaches.

As mentioned by a lot of us, they are really catering to Casual/New players which is understandable don't get me wrong. Just wish they also took some time and considered the experienced and die hard Franchise players.

I'd be very surprised if the mode doesn't get a lot of love next year.

Im hoping there were a lot of tweaks to the mode that was not mentioned.

Yeah I try every week, and was really surprised not only that I won, but that it was the grand prize. On topic, I'm pretty happy with the changes this year. Critical situations and quirks are nice additons

From a purely self centered point of view, from the perspective of a veteran player who plays every game, there is not a lot been done. A few more screens that make it easier to access information about morale or top prospects (who are at least ranked now as well) but other than that the only change at all seems to be the addition of being able to save money one year to spend the next, which is a very welcome addition for people like myself who like a rebuild.

The lack of talk of changes to the AI is very troubling, in respect to computer free agent signings, morale, trading and roster management. All these needed seriously altering but no mention of them at all is a major disappointment.

The vast majority seemed aimed at new players or people who sim.

EDIT forgot about quirks, which might be slightly interesting, but it's a bit muddled with most being just badges to highlight high stats. Wasn't clear if the significant ones that actually effect the game can be gained or if they are set in stone and not for propsects and draftees
