Teams never play the same division in interleague play in consecutive years - the matchups rotate every season. They don't do that in the Show, so you always end up playing the same teams in interleague.

I always thought we would be getting inside edge in play now and season modes too. Maybe for 18?

This x 1000000 I forgot all about promotion night! Why why WHY were these awesome things taken out of Franchise mode?? So frustrating.

In defense, the owner mode stuff was completely cosmetic before. It had no bearing on attendance or budget, hence why it was removed.

On the other hand I would like to see some of the stuff come back, but I am more interested in expanding on trading, free agency, budgets, player development, and almanac.

...which seems odd, in this day and age.

But - in this game why would you ever use pitch count to change a guy instead of energy?

But - why not show both? Pitch count is constantly on the screen in every MLB game now, so like i said, it just seems odd.

You can solve your pitch count discrepancy, by loading the game in the 1st inning, now you can go back into the game with no loading and see the pitch count.

That's silly though. There's plenty of room on the Quick Manage screen for it. Oh well. Maybe next year.

I agree, I just mean that if there was a decision to be made as to one or the other I would go with the one that directly affects the game as opposed to the one that is visual only.

This is going to be the first year I sit out since '06 debuted. As someone who plays franchise exclusively and is obsessed with realism there's just too many obvious glaring holes that haven't been incorporated that I've been waiting for for years. No non-roster invitees, no posting system, no intentional signing periods, No contract options, half the coaches are still fake, no minor league coaches, can't create players with service time or stats, can't incorporate prospects younger than 18, can't offer extensions, editable draft classes, etc... I can appreciate player quirks and game-skipping options, but I'm just yearning for a realistic GM experience, which has been lacking for going on 5 years now. Russell and Co. I sincerely appreciate the work you put into the game the last 10+ years but with less time to play and other obligations, I'm going to bow out.

The ball physics alone should get you excited enough to buy, but to each his own. I suspect you would be happier with something like OOTP baseball.

So, I wasn't able to finish catching up on this stream until a little while ago. I know I'm late to the party, so I don't want to pile on too much with my own list of disappointments (which won't be much different from others mentioned here), but I think I was surprised at just how much the team went out of their way to push simplicity in the mode.

I mean, I'm all for options and understand why franchise could be daunting to new players and people who maybe don't dig into the minutia of the mode, so I certainly appreciate why they chose to focus on that as well as highlighting ways to play, despite my personal preferences for maybe more in-depth features. Heck, perhaps by doing that now it makes it easier for them to expand on the stuff I really want later. Crawl before you walk, etc, etc.

I just couldn't help but chuckle though at them taking the time to simplify the tab system since people apparently found pressing L1 or R1 to confusing (we now have arrows!). Not meaning to be rude, and kudos to the team for being ever responsive to feedback, but maybe at a certain point the mode's accessibility isn't the issue.

That aside, I do understand the constraints and, given all the other changes on a broader level, it's hard for me to be too down on things. The game is shaping up to be as fantastic as ever, overall. Plus, I do really like quirks and the prospects list, so it's not like I don't get anything out of the changes to the mode either.

So, now my hope for the mode in 17 is that it rolls out much smoother than last year. After the patches (including the late one that added back jersey numbers to the player card) from last year plus minimal core changes this year, I would hope the mode is relatively bug free by comparison to 16.

Probably because IRL a manager doesnt have a convenient energy bar to read so that he's sure he got everything he could out of a pitcher. Sometimes managers make a mistake and pull them too early or leave them in too long. I like to replicate that inexactness so I go by pitch count, though it would be more benificial to look at the energy bar. I just dont want an advantage my real life counterpart doesnt enjoy.

I understand this. That being said your opponent (AI or User) has that advantage.

It's the same with balks - I turn them off because the CPU can't do them.

The problem is the Show is married to more than one man lol
and I'm probably the one who likes his Show with eggs and ice cream not bread and milk
albeit on your dime, sorry 'bout that

I don't understand what all the disappointment is about. Other than interleage games not rotating from year to year, I don't really know what else franchise mode needs. The gameplay should now be close to perfect, which is the main selling point in my opinion. I'd rather have killer gameplay than figuring up how much to charge for a hotdog.

Oh, you can practically give those away at wholesale, the real money to be made is in those fountain drinks

Really don't like that guys receive a penatly if they play at night with the day game warrior or whatever. That seems really stupid, because there's no correlation between the two. Just because someone plays better during the day doesn't mean they necessarily play worse at night.

If you're not sure what more a franchise mode needs, I'd reference you to NBA 2K17's Myleague and MyGm. That will show you what's missing.

*Before I get flamed, I understand the 2K Dev team has many more resources than The Show team. I am not saying I expect the same franchise depth, but simply trying to illustrate just how much is left to be explored in franchise mode.
