EA Sports UFC 3 News Post

Along with the Madden NFL 18 frostbite news and the delay of the next NBA Live, EA also announced, during today's Electronic Arts Q3 2017 earnings conference call, EA Sports UFC 3 will ship in fiscal year 2018, which runs from April 2017 through March 2018. Of course when an official release date is announced, it will get posted.

We will continue to drive innovation and competition in our EA SPORTS franchises. FIFA 18 will build on the foundation we created with story mode this year, bringing players back to The Journey with Season 2, featuring new characters and new storylines. Our development team in Vancouver is delivering deeply innovative new experiences across this year’s game, including in Ultimate Team, and creating the most emotionally immersive and connected FIFA we have ever produced. Our Madden NFL franchise will transition to the Frostbite engine with Madden NFL 18, unlocking major visual advancements and new gameplay experiences that will excite dedicated Madden players, football fans, and sports fans overall. Our complete roster of EA SPORTS titles in FY18 will also include NHL 18, a new chapter of our UFC franchise, and an all-new NBA LIVE game launching in the fall.

They just want that rush from Ultimate Team sales.

Hopefully they fix a lot of the issues from the current game. Career mode for one.

Well lets hope there is more to it than holding a stick in a direction and that the input lag is gone.

Honestly I wouldn't set my expectations so high. At this point , if they didn't fix it with EA UFC 2 after all the requests from EA UFC 1, i doubt they'll be focusing it on 3. Maybe i am wrong and the fact that UFC got sold for 4 billion $ made EA think "Hmm the sport is worth that much? Let's give em money and make a career like the new FIFA games".

Personally though, i feel like the devs will make sure the gameplay gets the biggest focus and not the career/offline, because at this point, i am kind of convinced it'll most likely just be a gimmick.

I am sure they'll touch on it and put on some improvements, but i still think the game is gonna be online/multiplayer focused and me personally i am fine with it, although having seen Fight Night Career, i know it would be awesome if we also got one with UFC or if we got a similar career to Undisputed.

One of the devs already confirmed on OS that they were interested in improving career mode. Its likely to be a focus with the next game given those comments.

Heres hoping for a Create-A-Fighter share option, better career mode and a universe mode!

I really would like to see a mode like fight card from ea mma. Could invite tons of friends and make a card that everyone could fight on or watch. Was really awesome for us guys in leagues.

Sent from my iPad using Operation Sports

The only thing I could really ask for in UFC 3 is for smooth online gameplay.

Like making slo-mo laggfests like this...

... a thing of the past.

At the very least we need better matchmaking regarding ping and a mutual "friendly quit" that we can use to both leave a match with nobody getting the loss or a DNF if the connection just isn't working.

There could still be trolls/gameruiners that are using the terrible connection to cheat.

There should be an automatic system for that.

Currently, the way things are in EA UFC 2, the inconsistency of the lag/glitches that force you to restart the game/console, it should have been the norm, to be able to erase at least 2 loses per week.

That way everyone is standing on the same planefield. Everyone gets the option to delete 2 loses per week from his record or smth, just because of all of those inconsistencies that make competitive ranked games frustrating and keep people away.

Am i mistaken in remebering something about GameplayDev saying he is working on the striking for this iteration? If so, i have high hopes for UFC 3. He did wonders for the grappling.

Damn, so I guess its really a wrap for the Fight Night series huh?

If it happens this time it would be nice to see it with characters with finer adjustments.

I can part with my Gumby and Pokey action figures.

It's almost impossible to do anything interesting or informative using those toys for anything standup up related.

They fall over way too easy and they don't articulate well enough to really convey much.

You could show off a Larkin spinning leg kick or something, but nothing of any real substance.

The ground on the other hand had thousands of animations to tease over a long period of time so it was perfect for that.

Word, I liked those videos but figured they were labor intensive. I don't expect striking videos, but I'm always looking for an excuse to post about Gumby and Pokey.

unfortunately Larkin was removed from ufc rankings, might be heading to bellator. Surely another ufc fighter has thrown a spinning leg kick.

leg punches would be neat.

Well that sucks. I can't think of anyone else having done it yet, but I could be wrong.

That was a Benson Henderson thing wasn't it? Whoever is going to make a Bellator game will get all these custom strikes to add to their game.

Allow us to block and switch stances at the same time please. These are mma fighters were playing as.

Thank you.

Benson got the leg punch technique from Alex Caceres.
