How many fights happen a year in the UFC?

There's probably 100 times that many fights online in half a day in the game.

Even at 1% draws. That's a ****load of draws.

Also i'm confused. You said mechanically draws are in the game, as well as 10/8 rounds. You say the devs could make animations and audio for draws, or they could make a randomizer, and based on time, the devs went with a randomizer... Then you say draws are just an "audio bug"? You're confusing me. Are they there, or not?
You are talking about two different things:

1) You and Gamer 205 said that when Buffer doesnt announce the score in a split or unanimous decision that means that the fight was a draw. I thought the same thing too a while back and I asked the devs. They confirmed that this WASNT the case and that it did not indicate that it was a draw. I was shocked. It was just an issue with the audio.

2) Draws are technically in the game. The judges are able to award 10-8 rounds. When a draw occurs, the game randomly selects a winner. Its all done on the backend so you have no idea that it was a draw.

So it's just an incredible coincidence every single time Buffer announces a winner without a score, it just happened to be a super close fight, with close stats?

My god, making it competely behind the scenes makes things even worse. Winning and losing fights you didn't win or lose, and you don't even know.

I don't see how anyone can think this isn't an issue? Especially in hyper competitive top tier Ranked matches?

I'm just telling you what I was told. I even checked the chat to confirm that I didnt misread it and it confirmed what I was told. I disagree that it only occurs in super close fights. I had one occur this weekend against the CPU in a clear 30-27 loss by me.

I think its an issue but honestly how many people have you heard complain about this? The majority of people who complain about it here (including me) are most are sim/offline players. I think I've seen maybe one or two threads here and on the old site. Really nothing on Reddit. Most of the online players dont seem to care.

When you are trying to add new features and fix issues with the game, you have to prioritize and if the community isnt clamoring for, it falls down the list.

This is definitely a gripe of mine. Decisions are way more prevelant in real life.

I'm sure some would make the argument that in order to allow more decisions to happen in the game would create a scenario where people will walk through punches even more.

The fact of the matter is, a small number of fighters have consistent fight ending punching power in real life and that is not reflected in the game.

In real life you have 4 or 5 ufc / fight night cards a month.
15 matches a card. So 5x15= 75 ufc fights a month.
In the game you have way over 75 matches a month.
So there should be more draws in the game then real life.
But the way the scoring/judges are right now is not correct.
I have over 8000 fights. 0 draws?!?
Ofcourse I want to win my fights.
But if its a draw, its a draw.

I guess what it boils down to is I don't consider a basic facet of a sport to be a feature, I consider it to be a prerequisite to having a complete sports game.

If nobody was asking for ground rule doubles in an MLB game and they decided not to put them in there because it hardly ever happens and just have the ball bounce off an invisible wall instead I would consider that an incomplete game.

They've left one of three potential outcomes to a fight (other than NC which I get being left out) out of the game. That's not acceptable no matter how few people are asking for it. If it's not in 3 then that's a huge black mark to me against the game.

Even if you add No Contests, Its still 1% of the time. I want them in. You want them in. But lets not act as they are "must haves" and on the level of actual submission moves.
i think joint vs choke submissions is a decent enough distinction that it's an interesting comparison but yeah it isn't totally fair. We had a bizarrely low year for joint submissions, the only reason that stat came to mine was they had mentioned on a CME in like June that there hadn't been one yet that year.

I do think draws are a must have but no they aren't on the level of submission moves, but if I had to pick I would choose draws over us getting some new submission move.

i dont know in this game, two equally matched players tend to go to decision. its only if someone is outmatched they get blasted out which happens in real life.

This is because how we as players, play the game. In real life every fighter doesnt want to be hit and doesnt want to be knocked out. They are 10,000% less aggressive in real life compared to how we as players fight in game. It is pretty normal to see both fighters throw well over 100 strikes round 1 in this game.

# 270 iHazCode @ 03/03/17 08:16 PM
I think making the strikes more devastating and adding more options for footwork and handfighting are the key to more decisions. If you don't want to get hit because you know every strike could possible separate you from your consciousness most will inherently play more cautiously. MMA is chess not checkers. Making the damage and stamina more realistic (including stoppages and injury) I think this will be the key.

Also grinding in the clinch and on the ground could feel more meaningful. Yeah it might not be a lot of fun, but making every move strategically will make things count. if I had to compare it, I'd say think of how people run and gun on call of duty vs. something like rainbow six.

I really wonder who is going to do the commentary for UFC 3. If you been watching UFC on tv lately they have been using so many different combinations that it has me thinking who will be the best fit in a video game.

I really hope its Jon Anik and Brian Stann. There my favorite by far and have been a sweet team for awhile. I just like there chemistry they have and the man crush Anik has on Stann. lol

I agree 100%. Unless Mir goes to commentary like he used to do with WEC. Mir is by far my favorite guy on commentary.

Mir is actually pretty decent.

Can we please get a remove hud option for quick match. I'm sure it's been said before, but it would really be a great and fun idea to have a universal hud on/off option for quick match only. (No Stamina meter, No Body health meter, and No clock.) Just call it "Realistic Mode" in the options and people will hover right to it for fights.

I know this is purely cosmetic, but can we have the security guards inside the octagon during the glove touch for title fights and when they announce the fight and the fight winner. Atleast have them standing inside around the fighters, that's a crucial thing to make it look realistic. Its the same way i fell about them needing to add "co-main event" audio and "we are live" audio.

It needs to be in any mma game. It shouldn't be that hard to add.

Let's make this happen EA!
