NBA 2K17 News Post


NBA 2K17 patch 1.06 has just arrived for PlayStation 4 (7.4GB) and Xbox One (2.6GB). Once the patch notes have been released, this post will get updated. Until then, post what you're seeing!

UPDATE: Here are the patch notes.

GENERAL
  • The Hornets will now have their correct court projection during the pre-game presentation.
  • Fixed an indefinite simulating screen that would occur when your MyPLAYER retired after the completion of his 20-year MyCAREER.
  • Fixed a hang that would occur in MyGM/MyLEAGUE when attempting to enter the Staff Signing experience when the team had no Assistant Coach (retired) and an expired Head Coach.
  • Addressed an issue in MyGM/MyLEAGUE where a league filled with Classic and Euroleague teams would sometimes hang late in the season when simulating.
  • Fixed a MyTEAM Challenge case where the in-game overlay would claim the challenge was not successfully completed when it actually was.
  • Addressed a case where a MyTEAM card that was sent to the Auction House could still appear in lineup menu as being available (when it actually wasn’t).
GAMEPLAY
  • Fixed an issue where pass icons were not appearing for users playing in 4K on the PS4 Pro.
  • Removed some long, drawn out dribble loss (pickup) animations from the body up system to improve responsiveness.
  • Made some aggressive bump back dribble collisions MyPARK only.
  • Prevent defenders from being able to steal the ball from an inbounder immediately after checking it in when playing in MyPARK.
  • Make sure all players are in position before checking the ball when playing half-court games in MyPARK.
  • Sped up the CPU’s ability to get into its offensive sets and run plays.
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause CPU-controlled ball handlers to run out of bounds when attacking the baseline.
  • Cleaned up an issue that lead to unrealistic speed bursts in some size-up escape and combo moves.
  • Fixed a case that caused the wrong dribble move to queue up when attempting to perform driving combo moves (e.g. double crossover).
  • Updated Broadcast Stadium cameras for Bucks, Mavericks, Kings, and Clippers.
  • Beluba camera updated to zoom out more in transition and to have a wider range of zoom and height adjustment settings.
MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
  • A number of performance improvements to solidify the Pro-Am experience.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause some users to hang when attempting to hop from one park to another.
  • Users can now unequip the skateboard and mascot outfits from their MyPLAYER.
Many other small bug fixes and adjustments were also made, game-wide.

NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves unless noted otherwise.

Good fix but they still haven't fixed the shot-feedback for non-meter users.

Sweet. Just completed my trophy game in PNO. Super glad that the XB1 don't have to wait once again.

Da Czar said he has made significant improvements to fastbreak logic that he hopes to drop in an ACE update very soon.

The hard hedging, double teaming, and ACE issues do not appear addressed in this patch. However, maybe these things can be updated/fixed in an ACE update, like Da Czar is doing with fastbreaks.

If this patch speeds up the fluidity of plays, improves user responsiveness, and eliminates the CPU sticky defense it will be a win IMO. Hopefully they did not remove the speed burst out of a dribble animation (that was already poor to begin with). We need more offensive explosion from good ball handlers, and less stickiness from CPU defenders (off-line)

Yeah, those situations are mostly controlled by ACE.

EDIT: I thought Czar handled the offensive side while OG handled the defensive side?

This observation may be placebo but I'm playing against the bulls in MyGM (HOF & Custom Sliders) and they ran 3 straight post plays for DWade. This is only 1 quarter in but the CPU definitely gets into an offense much quicker.

I still wish they would bring back the old coach mode were I can watch the players play call plays.. Make my own subs.. The new simcast live is kinda weird to me.... Did the sloppy defense get better.. I saw a lot of times guys just slacking to much leaving their opponent... And under simcast mode the regular version.. Not live.. I wish we could start simulation from any of the things we happen to be on.. I would leave it on game log or maybe the box score section.. Instead having to move back over to where it says continue simulation..... Ido overall like 2ks layout and how much more they have to scroll through and how you can download player training setups and all that.. Much better layout and more to look at the on Madden... I wish Madden had the trade finder thing.. Haa

It does seem like when updates happen it's more heavy sided to online stuff.. My park.. Etcetc.. Or like on Madden usually majority of the update stuff is focused More on mut in Madden.. Things that make people get on and then buy more tokens vc etcetc...

Glad we're making progress on the game. Hope the changes are visible, esp. the reduced pick-up-the-ball and bump-back animations. AI stupidity walking out of bounds was ridiculous as well.

Also hoping that fast breaks get some love in future updates.

Did they fix the ACE menu system? I'm out and about and will check later, I don't see any mention in the patch notes.

I DON'T USUALLY POST, AS I'VE ALWAYS FELT FOR IT TO BE A WASTE OF MY TIME BURIED IN THE OTHER POSTS... HOWEVER, IN THIS CASE...

MAKE UP YOUR MIND ON WHETHER YOU'D LIKE GUARDS TO BE ABLE TO SPEED BOOST OR NOT!!! QUITE FRANKLY, ITS FAIR GAME SINCE EVERYONE KNOWS HOW TO DO IT... THE MOVES I'VE SPENT TIME PRACTICING ARE NOW REDUNDANT...

PEOPLE WHO SUCK WILL ALWAYS COMPLAIN ABOUT GAMEPLAY. STOP TURNING THESE EXCUSES INTO GROUNDS TO 'MAKE THINGS MORE FAIR'. IT'S A COMPETITIVE GAME WITH SOME PEOPLE BETTER THAN OTHERS. WE ALL PLAY UNDER THE SAME GOVERNING RULES OF NATURE WITHIN THE GAME.
