NBA 2K17 News Post


NBA 2K17 patch 1.06 has just arrived for PlayStation 4 (7.4GB) and Xbox One (2.6GB). Once the patch notes have been released, this post will get updated. Until then, post what you're seeing!

UPDATE: Here are the patch notes.

GENERAL
  • The Hornets will now have their correct court projection during the pre-game presentation.
  • Fixed an indefinite simulating screen that would occur when your MyPLAYER retired after the completion of his 20-year MyCAREER.
  • Fixed a hang that would occur in MyGM/MyLEAGUE when attempting to enter the Staff Signing experience when the team had no Assistant Coach (retired) and an expired Head Coach.
  • Addressed an issue in MyGM/MyLEAGUE where a league filled with Classic and Euroleague teams would sometimes hang late in the season when simulating.
  • Fixed a MyTEAM Challenge case where the in-game overlay would claim the challenge was not successfully completed when it actually was.
  • Addressed a case where a MyTEAM card that was sent to the Auction House could still appear in lineup menu as being available (when it actually wasn’t).
GAMEPLAY
  • Fixed an issue where pass icons were not appearing for users playing in 4K on the PS4 Pro.
  • Removed some long, drawn out dribble loss (pickup) animations from the body up system to improve responsiveness.
  • Made some aggressive bump back dribble collisions MyPARK only.
  • Prevent defenders from being able to steal the ball from an inbounder immediately after checking it in when playing in MyPARK.
  • Make sure all players are in position before checking the ball when playing half-court games in MyPARK.
  • Sped up the CPU’s ability to get into its offensive sets and run plays.
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause CPU-controlled ball handlers to run out of bounds when attacking the baseline.
  • Cleaned up an issue that lead to unrealistic speed bursts in some size-up escape and combo moves.
  • Fixed a case that caused the wrong dribble move to queue up when attempting to perform driving combo moves (e.g. double crossover).
  • Updated Broadcast Stadium cameras for Bucks, Mavericks, Kings, and Clippers.
  • Beluba camera updated to zoom out more in transition and to have a wider range of zoom and height adjustment settings.
MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
  • A number of performance improvements to solidify the Pro-Am experience.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause some users to hang when attempting to hop from one park to another.
  • Users can now unequip the skateboard and mascot outfits from their MyPLAYER.
Many other small bug fixes and adjustments were also made, game-wide.

NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves unless noted otherwise.

Yes, I played five games on SS and it was good experience, fast breaks are tuned a little bit in a better way, off ball movement is improved and overall game feels right and fun now, players not losing ball as much as before because of bumping, CPU goes much less for on ball steals, steals overall have better ratio, I enjoyed this.

What is not fixed: I have to play without hedges at all because it is disaster, full court passes are still there, too much physicality still there also and too many offensive 3 sec. are called because players stuck in a paint.

I know it was not mentioned in notes but will players in MyLeague ever will start to sign for realistic money? Is it that hard to fix?

ksutton or anyone else-Did 2k completely remove forced dribble pick ups from the game or did they just make the animation shorter? I hope they didn't remove it entirely..

I still believe 3 point frequency needs nerf'd. Folks in Park are hitting from just inside half-court at a rate of 60-70%. I don't mind the range, that's whatever, but the frequency is obnoxious. And I have the defensive stopper badge, albeit on bronze.

But when you consider the badge stacks, it's disgustingly OP. Let's say a Playmaker with HOF Dimer passes to a SharpShooter with HOF Catch & Shoot, HOF Limitless Range, and I'm in his face, so he also gets HOF Deep Range Deadeye, that's 4 HOF stacks on top of his 94 rating for 3's, and is being rewarded for an altogether bad shot selection being so far out. That's just dumb.

You're all nuts! Nothing has changed! I just had a game that was ruined buy the CPU constantly stepping out of bounds or me standing in the corner, getting the ball and then magically stepping out of bounds without me having never touched anything. CPU getting stuck on CPU in the paint and so on. I'm still getting sucked to a defender or getting slowed down whenever the CPU thinks he needs to handicap me. The CPU still doesn't know how to defend a simple P&R and thinks it's cool to double team right from the start. Yeah, that's so much fun 2K!

Pretty sure they gave up on My Player. This entire mode, badge system, arch type is a complete disaster.

Just come out clean say we F* up we'll do better next year.

Fast-break teammate AI logic fixed? Do they actually run proper lanes now or do they still drop back or go straight to the corners?

Forced pickups are there just not the one that happens when someone is running right behind you.

Nah its not completely gone but the situatuons it happens in make a lot more sense. Not seeing situations where defenders graze you and you spiral out of control, lol

Still feel the CPU is a bit sticky but happy to see clean blow bys happening more often. There have most definitely been changes.

I'm going to use this previous posted video. Since I played it last night and was kinda sleepy, I'm going off memory now. For fact, I know that I didn't get that long drawn out fumbling animation that starts at the FT line and goes all the way to the rim. Then you're in panic mode, because you're pressing buttons to pass or shoot, and you get a undesired action as a result.

In the video (0:43), I was able to bump my opponent and cut off his driving lanes, but I couldn't force him to pick up his dribble. However, I was able time the steal nicely.

That's so ridiculous, if they wanted to lower the payout, they could've at least cut it in half or something, but this is insane. I feel like i have no incentive to do these sponsorships anymore.

From the game I've played I didn't see it. I am hoping it's still in but you're able to break out of it with a pass like previous 2Ks instead of having to sit there and wait for the animation to play out.

Also miss reading passing lanes off of that because usually when someone is in that animation they try to hurry up and get rid of it lol. Just a tendency that you get used to from years of playing 2K. But removing it completely would be a mistake.

The game is freaking perfect now! Don't dare to touch anything else if not aces and roster updates 2k!!!!!
And don't listen to those childish onliners anymore .

Edit. I received also the Ace update I guess, I don't know what's different but it still works perfectly.

I haven't played in a few days and finally got to sit down and get a game in and all I can say is WOW!!! The game feels amazing now. My players don't feel like slugs on offense and it is a joy to just move up the court and dribble. Second and most important thing: CPU Defensive Awareness seems to have been toned up to a whole nother stratosphere. I had 14 steals in the game total and 13 of those were from the CPU intercepting passes/stripping the ball. I got punished for bad passes into the paint as well. Third thing I noticed: Defenders are no longer sticking to me like glue and I can finally get to the basket with people like Dwyane Wade and John Wall! Dribble moves are effective like they were in the Prelude but good defenders will still give you trouble. Lastly that annoying pick-up dribble animation is gone, so now we are back to 2k16's style of the ball coming loose, which is much more realistic. Now hopefully no more patches

Listening to Patch 6 rage videos...SMDH.

I get having a difference of opinion, but some of the whining and ignorance is mind blowing. Some people actually believe they should be able to hit 100% of their shots when open. Some people actually believe it's okay to speed boost pass their defenders with glitchy animations.

Literally, these people BELIEVE that glitches are fair game, and people just need to adapt. WTF? I see why the developers come this forum to get feedback despite some of the negativity.
