NBA 2K17 News Post

NBA 2K17 patch 1.06 has just arrived for PlayStation 4 (7.4GB) and Xbox One (2.6GB). Once the patch notes have been released, this post will get updated. Until then, post what you're seeing!

UPDATE: Here are the patch notes.

GENERAL
  • The Hornets will now have their correct court projection during the pre-game presentation.
  • Fixed an indefinite simulating screen that would occur when your MyPLAYER retired after the completion of his 20-year MyCAREER.
  • Fixed a hang that would occur in MyGM/MyLEAGUE when attempting to enter the Staff Signing experience when the team had no Assistant Coach (retired) and an expired Head Coach.
  • Addressed an issue in MyGM/MyLEAGUE where a league filled with Classic and Euroleague teams would sometimes hang late in the season when simulating.
  • Fixed a MyTEAM Challenge case where the in-game overlay would claim the challenge was not successfully completed when it actually was.
  • Addressed a case where a MyTEAM card that was sent to the Auction House could still appear in lineup menu as being available (when it actually wasn’t).
GAMEPLAY
  • Fixed an issue where pass icons were not appearing for users playing in 4K on the PS4 Pro.
  • Removed some long, drawn out dribble loss (pickup) animations from the body up system to improve responsiveness.
  • Made some aggressive bump back dribble collisions MyPARK only.
  • Prevent defenders from being able to steal the ball from an inbounder immediately after checking it in when playing in MyPARK.
  • Make sure all players are in position before checking the ball when playing half-court games in MyPARK.
  • Sped up the CPU’s ability to get into its offensive sets and run plays.
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause CPU-controlled ball handlers to run out of bounds when attacking the baseline.
  • Cleaned up an issue that lead to unrealistic speed bursts in some size-up escape and combo moves.
  • Fixed a case that caused the wrong dribble move to queue up when attempting to perform driving combo moves (e.g. double crossover).
  • Updated Broadcast Stadium cameras for Bucks, Mavericks, Kings, and Clippers.
  • Beluba camera updated to zoom out more in transition and to have a wider range of zoom and height adjustment settings.
MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
  • A number of performance improvements to solidify the Pro-Am experience.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause some users to hang when attempting to hop from one park to another.
  • Users can now unequip the skateboard and mascot outfits from their MyPLAYER.
Many other small bug fixes and adjustments were also made, game-wide.

NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves unless noted otherwise.

Unless it is "Championship DNA" since I just won the title. That would explain it.
Checked Google and indeed it is Championship DNA.
yeah, its the championship dna.
funny thing, i got the badge by just beeing in the finals.

and i dont want do win, and play more, because i dont want to loose my hotzones. everything is red right now, and as far as i know when a new season begins all the zones are beeing resetted

edit:
and i dont need to, got 42 badges including all hof and the grand badge.
the only badge im missing is clutch performer.

my quiestion: does this badge help at the park? on tight games at the end? really?

OK 2K you need to see to this player collision, 'stuck in the mud' feeling that we're all getting.

Not only am I getting groped by the CPU and slowed down when handling the ball on a fast break. I just experienced a situation where I was impeded by the CPU body, while the CPU was still moving (call it a moving screen if you want). Essentially, we were playing football and DWade who ran the fast break along with Jimmy Butler, blocked my player's progress while I attempted to chase down.

Also, I'm seeing the same as other people, where the animations/collisions happen in the paint so frequently there's almost no point in playing as big men.
- Posting up and getting a few buckets on the post up will result in double teams (so kick it out right?).
- Sometimes holding turbo to trigger Post Spin Technician actually results in a turnover animation where the CPU basically fouls you but somehow gets the steal (punishment for excessive turbo somehow? idk).
- You get bumped like mad in the paint while trying to find a position to receive the pass (e.g. on the high post, playing like LMA or Marc Gasol is difficult and sticky).

I havent seen those really ugly moving screens since this patch hit.

I wish 2K fixes my control settings from switching back to default. It happens so much and I don't really know the causes besides the one if you sit at the main menu and a CPU game start up. But every single time I try and play a private Teamup, my settings are back at default. Also just randomly does it in other online matches. This been happening for a few years now.

and shooting sliders are the easiest to adjust. just tinker with them and also tinker with the consistency slider until you get more realistic shooting percentages.
You're not rude but I have noticed that the animation close too the baseline have them stepping out of bounds more than they should....it is very noticeable and kind of frequent also...

Online is another animal my man. There are still a ton of moving screens and there's no such thing as a moving screen off ball as far as I know.

The moving screen window needs to go back to NBA2K16's way, because screens are still being abused.

Nah, that isn't being rude, but like tyberious4now stated, he is seeing this too and it starts to become annoying if you see it more that 3 times per game.

That is giving up possessions on either end for no reason.

So the double teaming is really out of control on MyCareer for me. I can't really score anymore. I was 10 and 8 in the 3rd trying to get my teammates to make buckets for me, calling plays for them which worked but as soon as I call for a PnR they swarm me like angry piranhas. The red circles due to "Championship DNA" makes it even worse. It's like angry piranhas with laser eyes or something.

Has anyone noticed that there are too many And1s again? Especially for the CPU team.

Now that I'm understanding what ACE can and cannot do (it's smarter than the usual game AIs and relying on less cheese than previous, but it's still annoying as it doesn't beat you on strategy but cheese), I think 2K actually did OK with what they could in that department.

However, the complaints in gameplay are the same.

- Why does the CPU move faster than we do? A CPU player with a lower speed rating is able to move more smoothly (maybe it's not faster, but the animations feel like they do, so therefore smoother) than a human player with a higher speed rating. Now this isn't absolute speed, but practical speed, where you're dribbling around. Feels like the CPU is able to abuse animations (like the lower-your-shoulder, speed-boost dribble animation which triggers from certain dribble moves) much more readily than human players can.
Also, CPU players running in transition are noticeably quicker than human players of comparable quickness (even when the human player has a higher speed rating).
I'm assuming this is to maintain balance in the game (by giving CPU physical advantages as they are strategically deficient).

- Stepping out of bounds on the baseline is insane. The CPU and AI teammates don't know how to stop to receive the ball on a pass. They dribble out of bounds too. Happens in online modes too.
