NBA 2K17 News Post


NBA 2K17 patch 1.06 has just arrived for PlayStation 4 (7.4GB) and Xbox One (2.6GB). Once the patch notes have been released, this post will get updated. Until then, post what you're seeing!

UPDATE: Here are the patch notes.

GENERAL
  • The Hornets will now have their correct court projection during the pre-game presentation.
  • Fixed an indefinite simulating screen that would occur when your MyPLAYER retired after the completion of his 20-year MyCAREER.
  • Fixed a hang that would occur in MyGM/MyLEAGUE when attempting to enter the Staff Signing experience when the team had no Assistant Coach (retired) and an expired Head Coach.
  • Addressed an issue in MyGM/MyLEAGUE where a league filled with Classic and Euroleague teams would sometimes hang late in the season when simulating.
  • Fixed a MyTEAM Challenge case where the in-game overlay would claim the challenge was not successfully completed when it actually was.
  • Addressed a case where a MyTEAM card that was sent to the Auction House could still appear in lineup menu as being available (when it actually wasn’t).
GAMEPLAY
  • Fixed an issue where pass icons were not appearing for users playing in 4K on the PS4 Pro.
  • Removed some long, drawn out dribble loss (pickup) animations from the body up system to improve responsiveness.
  • Made some aggressive bump back dribble collisions MyPARK only.
  • Prevent defenders from being able to steal the ball from an inbounder immediately after checking it in when playing in MyPARK.
  • Make sure all players are in position before checking the ball when playing half-court games in MyPARK.
  • Sped up the CPU’s ability to get into its offensive sets and run plays.
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause CPU-controlled ball handlers to run out of bounds when attacking the baseline.
  • Cleaned up an issue that lead to unrealistic speed bursts in some size-up escape and combo moves.
  • Fixed a case that caused the wrong dribble move to queue up when attempting to perform driving combo moves (e.g. double crossover).
  • Updated Broadcast Stadium cameras for Bucks, Mavericks, Kings, and Clippers.
  • Beluba camera updated to zoom out more in transition and to have a wider range of zoom and height adjustment settings.
MyPARK/2K PRO-AM
  • A number of performance improvements to solidify the Pro-Am experience.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause some users to hang when attempting to hop from one park to another.
  • Users can now unequip the skateboard and mascot outfits from their MyPLAYER.
Many other small bug fixes and adjustments were also made, game-wide.

NOTE: All patch fixes will work in your existing game mode saves unless noted otherwise.

Looks like this was much needed patch everyone was looking. I'm seeing less and less complaint threads, and I seeing more of the mode specific threads (PNO, My Park, etc) being bumped to the top.

Prior to patch 1.06 all highlights worked fine. Now after patch 1.06 every highlight is gone/cut short. Halftime show goes for 2 seconds and cuts to 2nd half.

It does not matter what Qtr length I have set in game. Happens with 4 minutes, happens with 12. Cleared PS4 cache/old saves/crap data too. Didn't help.

There's a slight increase in Rim outs after the patch. It's subtle, but usually I rim out on putbacks that have crazy traffic involved (Like, I'm trying to throw it back down on 7 people under the rim), or on dunks with 2-3 defenders present. Essentially pressure that would actually cause a missed dunk.

But then I see Curry blow the wide open dunk last night, so I can't be mad

The fastbreaks feel smoother. I didn't notice any of those pass receptions where the guy is walking in mud.

Although I did notice some animation warping; more than usual.

How come on this game when you enter into the paint it feels like you're sledging through mud, it's like you're guy is quick to guard on the perimeter but once you enter the paint it's the complete opposite and don't get me started on the being in the paint on offense and the defender is behind you/side of you and you push your joystick to run the complete opposite way of them to avoid the 3 in the key call but somehow the defender is glued to you even tho pushing in the complete opposite direction, doesn't make sense that they can be able to do that without holding you which should be called for a foul. But I made a paint protector center and like I said earlier in the post , I move pretty fluid and smooth on the perimeter if I need to pickup on a PNR or what not but once I enter the paint to guard, it's like my speed and reflexes drop significantly which is frustrating since that is what my archetype is designed to do but yet stretch bigs are doing left/right step back threes like nothing. Just make defense equal to offense 2k and this game will be in a much better place.

The paint is a joke on this game... way overpowered for the attacking team. Same old legacy issue of this 2k franchise, but more present than ever... :-(

Agreed. And I still see some pull 3's by the CPU, but they are make more sense when they happen for me offline. But like you, I have dropped pull up in transition tendencies to zero through the league in MyLeague.

I sometimes feel like when I get the ball under the basket in the protected area on offense though, I get stuck in an animation and my input to shoot is delayed or doesn't get through. I end up getting blocked or stripped or 3 second violation.

I feel like it happened sometimes before but maybe I'm just noticing it more now because there are other bigger problems that have been addressed a bit. Dirk, does this happen to you?

Nah, I haven't made one. It's just places in a game when I know I'm inputting a shot command with right stick but the shot doesn't come.

It's not a huge deal. I don't know if I'd make a clip, though if one comes along maybe I will. Just thought I'd check to see if you or anyone else has come across it, because for all I know it could be a byproduct of my individual slider adjustments.

This happens to me, but on the other end ... I mean I press the hands up animation or a jump to try and contest deep paint shots and nana, like it doesnt register, it doesnt happens a lot but it does frequent enough for me to notice it ... specially on teamups, proam, player lock modes but on all really. On the O side, what I have encountered is more of a, from time to time, imput delay but less frequent than the one I described.

I know a couple of iterations back there was a simillar bug, maybe is back on both ends.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I get that no hands up on defense in the protected area too. It's got to where I stopped the game and went into the controls menu to make sure the input commands had not changed this year and I didn't know it.

There may be some kind of right stick input delay or bug down there for the user.

Using shot stick, in airballing a ton of jump shots. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips? Thanks.

I picked up the game again during the black Friday deals and there are a few things that still stick out with me that led me to trade it a month ago.

The out of bounds AI is still very much lacking. Players go baseline and step out of bounds, it happened four times in the game I played.

Plus, I still see the CPU get a few cheap buckets after a basket is made.

I know da czar is working on defensive AI, so, I won't discuss that, but, I will say, the game seems improved from about a month ago.

Da Czar works on the offensive side of the ball. OG is defense.

Ok, thanks for setting me straight on that. I haven't visited here in awhile and I did see a thread that with the title, Da Czar updated ACE for fast breaks, so, yeah, that would make sense.

This game is so close now. Some of the wonky legacy moments that are just totally nonsensical still on occasion, but the main thing that is holding it back for me are the all those little advantages that the CPU has that User controlled teams can't do. Winning 90% of the 50/50 balls, sliding back in front of you or holding in place from behind when you have your whole body past them while on the other end being totally immune to contact on many plays, every CPU player making pinpoint passes while your guys inexplicably throw the ball right into defenders hands, plus a half a dozen other things.

The thing is, that stuff isn't needed anymore. The A.I. is seriously good enough now to win without those advantages. So I don't know if it's just the producers not trusting that A.I. or the engineers not being able to get rid of that stuff yet, but it really needs to go. Mike said in the blog that that stuff would be gone, but it's still there keeping the game from true greatness.

When did they add the red circles back in the game, that signal a double team? Double teams have been even crazier since then. They literally chase me over the court with two people. Before that I could break the double team by moving to the other side of the court, now it's like playing catch me if you can. Also I feel passing out of DT is worse now. The ball goes flying more often than not, almost like in 2K16.

Lol!!! ok are u playing the warriors? check Curry's badge. u need to have that badge so the player can see that two red circles.

i dont want to sound rude, but i havent had any issue with players going out of bounds on the baseline. maybe every once in awhile but nothing crazy. that might have something to do with how you personally play the game.

and shooting sliders are the easiest to adjust. just tinker with them and also tinker with the consistency slider until you get more realistic shooting percentages.

Well I play MyCareer and the red circles just started to show up. Does this mean I unlocked a badge? I can't remember seeing anything on screen. Maybe my imagination but I feel like they DTs have been even crazier since then lol

Unless it is "Championship DNA" since I just won the title. That would explain it.
Checked Google and indeed it is Championship DNA.
