Game is extraordinarily buggy this year.
On/Off options that don't work.
Game hard freezing numerous times.
Online games locking up in the later innings.
Extreme framerate issues in certain ballparks.

Conquest mode has given me a reason to care about Diamond Dynasty...and boy do I ever. I'm all in. My biggest issue is 3 innings is too short. It really takes the strategy part of baseball outof the game and just seems like a mad scramble to get a run across. I undertand the good intentions to make it a quick and fun experience. I think what would have been a better option is to have 6 inning games with Quick Counts.

I'm liking the hit variety and the visible but subtle gap between a great defensive player and a poor one. The great ones seem to stand out more this year. Seems to be more dying quails and shots down the line as far as hits go.

This is indeed very interesting observation and I wouldn't be surprised this really is the reason why the frame rate in PS4 iterations have been a bit disappointing. With MLB 14 (the first year The Show was on PS4), I continued to play on PS3 for a while as the difference in the frame rate was quite noticeable and the PS3 version simply played much smoother.
And I think it is definitely correct the PS4 version hasn't caught up in that regard, even this iteration. There definitely are much more graphics to be appreciated, but when some stuttering occurs while a pitch is coming to you or when the camera is panning very fast with a big detailed crowd/graphic elements in the view, I wonder if all that detail is necessary when they are not appreciable in detail anyways.
Some PC games have settings where graphical details can optionally be cut down to gain more processing power for more critical components. I wonder something similar is possible with The Show.

after 7 games (all DD), I can say with a big smile that the hitting is finally everything I ever wanted it to be.
I finally feel totally in control of my hitter. If I guess fastball up and in-- and time it perfectly-- there is a chance I will jack it out of the park-- even with a Jed Lowrie type like I did earlier.
In previous iterations of The Show, it felt like invisible rating calculations affected results more than your own timing, reactions etc. In last years Show, there's no chance I would ever go deep with Jed Lowrie, no matter what I did-- unless it was a grooved 3-0 fastball down the plate and I pressed square at the precise right moment.
This year, when I get jammed, I deserve to be jammed. When I pop up, I deserve to pop up. And when I slam one in the gap, I deserve to slam it in the gap.
Diamond Dynasty has a myriad of issues--- framerate, disconnects etc.-- but man I am loving the gameplay. It's similar to how I felt playing NFL 2K5.

Just played my first 2 games of this years game and on Dynamic difficulty and I won 6-0 and 2-1. I hadn't played Mlb 15 for a while so I am kind rusty more so with hitting as I have always found hitting to be pretty hard on these games. I have to say the game looks better than I thought it would. I played my first game in the rain at night and the rain looks much better. I have felt like from the time they added rain sever years ago on ps3 up threw 15 on ps4 you could almost not even tell that it was raining. Now this year the rain looks much more realistic and is much heaver than in the past. I have been using the fish eye cam but zoomed in and lowered a little bit. I am not sure if I am going to stick with it or not need to play more games first. But man the game looks over all much better than last year big jump. I would still like to see new player models but I felt like before this game mlb had worse graphics than madden, NBA 2k and NHL. Now I would say they have past madden and are close to NHL still well behind NBA 2k though.

Guys, I just played MLB 15 for awhile and then switched right over to the show and I can't tell you how bad I think MLB 16 is compared to 15!!! The framerate is just atrocious!!! I mean 15 had some issues in that regard but 16 is just downright awful! I can't even enjoy the game before I have to put 15 back in. It sucks because I love the series but at this point it's really hard for me to continue to play 16. I really hope Russell is reading all of these comments we post and also hope there is really something they can do to smooth out game play!!

After a week of play I have come to the conclusion that this is a definite upgrade with many features and improvements IMO. I love the new ball physics, seems so much more realistic. Some of the improved player motions are amazing, especially the dives made by infielders, so much better. I see they may have done something to pick-off moves. I have yet to throw one into the stands..yeah! Now, when you play in the rain, you can actually see the rain and the cut scenes to city shots and surrounding areas is too cool. I have yet to notice any of the stuttering some folks are talking of, at least to the degree where it would be annoying.
Now for my dislikes. Flesh tones are too dark making some players unrecognizable. For my home team Rockies, being a season ticket holder from their inception, their black "vest" jerseys have never had purple sleeves. Why did you change these from the black last year? The changes at Coors Field did not make the game. They raised the right field wall the entire length of the bullpen to 30 feet as well as the left field corner. Would like to have seen that. I think they got a little carried away with the amount of "dust" the ball kicks up too. And then I don't know if this is a glitch or of it is how they display it on the board at Wrigley. They show the picture of the player batting, and then under it, says "due up" which I would assume it referred to the batting team, however it is the team in the field. To me, doesn't make sense but , oh well.
All in all, the game more than delivers this year for me.

Zone hitting is definitely easier than it has ever been for me this year especially with fish eye camera. Getting contact on high pitches are no longer an issue for me. I am thinking of playing on Hall of Fame but I need a few more games to judge.

NY Giants I totally agree! Just bothers me so much. Happy for the people that don't experience the stutter! Would love to be one of you guys. Lol
Anyone noticed that the day-to-night transition times seem vastly slowed down this year? Played a 7:05 game in April. It should be dark by the 3rd or 4th inning. In the 7th there was still some remaining glow in the sky.
Time doesn't seem to advance at the correct clip. Even for a low-scoring (i.e. 1-0) game, it should take at least 2.5 hours to play in most cases. But the time in the game is more like 1.5 hours.
I didn't notice this as much last year, and was wondering if anyone has noticed the same.

Haven't played The Show much in recent years. How long does it take to play a 9 inning game in real time? Is it less than 30 minutes?
Also, can you save a game in progress and finish it at a later time.
Having kids makes it tough to play for too long in one sitting.
Thanks in advance!
