Yes there are current rosters in the vault. I haven't downloaded any but there are 3 that I saw.

Also OSFM rosters are there for anyone interested

16 was ok if you don't mind the crappy framerate.

I followed up my 13-5 win over the Cubs with a 13-0 win over the Reds. We banged out 20 hits and all the sudden our offense has caught fire!

All of this without Holliday who was out with Lat Muscle Strain. He will be back in the lineup tonight for game 2 vs the Reds.

I'm disappointed bunting is so bad. Playing as an NL team is terrible right now. If I get the guy on base in front of my pitcher I don't even consider sacrificing because of the rocket bunts.

Ended up getting the digital version this time, I will miss the updated player models.

I was really looking forward to experiencing the new ball physics in 17. After watching the streams and seeing how the game was not as balanced as it has been in the past, along with questioniable descisions in implementation I decided to keep going with 16.

I'll add my mlb 16 roster to the vault. It was done at season end of 2016 and is based off OSFM & hybrid.Started with correct default roster and imported players from various rosters including from mlb 14 & 15 with corect service & stats.with all SCEA added players from all LRU for MLB 16 included. It is a full 90 man with 40 man roster with players on DL at start of season in A ball.Got rid of all FA that didn't play in 2016. Added players that played on each teams AAA & AA team during year. Some are in FA pool due to roster limitation. There are some joe randoms and gg playersin FA pool so you can edit some new players in. That's what I'm using for my franchise.Also. all audio names are added where available plus jersey numbers ,pitchers as sp,rp,cl, and secondary positions during season. As complete a 90 man roster as you can get.I'll wait till 2017 season is done to even start a frnachise with mlb 17 so I can have all SCEA players added. My owner name is TB6G55N3QF2 titled mlb16 90man. Loaded to vault now. enjoy.

I'm having a tough time getting into the game this year. The franchise mode feels untouched and in some ways worst. I really don't like the budget system. I don't feel like I have a true idea of what the team has to spend in the off-season.

I miss the emails.

I played 16 and still love it to death. I'm really trying to force my self to keep playing 17.

I know the feeling. I really wanted '17 to work but just couldn't get into it. It just feels off this year.

Came back to '16 and have no regrets.

Some of the things that are really bothering me about this year's title that I hope are changed are;

1. Rocket bunts. The intent may be to limit online cheesing but offline it's awful.

2. Past balls and wild pitches. Base runners advance immediately.

3. Matrix like slides at second on stolen bases. Feels so arcade to me really takes me out of the immersion of the game.

4. Ball physics are nice but seem like they need to be tuned, not sure if I can really describe it but it feels off. Hitting feels too easy and almost everything down line seems to hook foul.

5. Would love to see the old display back for budget.

Well it took until the end of April but Adam Wainwright got his first win of the year as we beat the Reds 3-2 to sweep the series.

Wainwright is now 1-3 with a 5.32 ERA.

I thought I would hate the close play slides but I actually find myself enjoying them. should have been optional though.
The only thing is I see it triggered even on non-close plays

I would kill to have 16's budget system over 17's.

Just beat the Phillies with a pinch hit walk off homerun in the 10th by Matt Carpenter.

Holliday tied it in the 9th with a solo shot of his own, his first of the year.

So glad I switched back to this game

Yes I am!

Even though I lost the rubber match with the Phillies as Franco doubled home the go ahead run with 2 outs in the 9th off of Rosenthal. Lost 3-2.

These are the two biggest issues I had with '17. Like you, hitting feels off to me this year. I feel as though its too overpowered, and not just in terms of hitting homeruns.

Also, I HATE the new budget system in '17. Way too confusing. Simpler is better. And hopefully they will revert it back to the old style in '18.

Well I am now about 60 games into my return to '16 and I must say that I've settled in and any thoughts that I've had about returning to '17 have diminished. I'm firmly committed to playing '16 for this year and will wait to see what '18 has to offer next March.

I recommend that anyone who may not be finding as much enjoyment in '17 as they did in '16, to consider making the switch back. While there are definitely things that '17 does that '16 cannot do, '16 plays a solid game of baseball that can carry you through until '18 hits the shelves next March.

Patch has been good. Not having a single problem with '17. Just can't go back.

I went to a two year cycle since '13 and was pretty happy with that decision. The initial "shock-that-I-don't-have-the-new-mlb-the-show-game" was the hardest part of the decision but I was able to get over it and enjoyed '15 for the last years. Now I'm loving '17 and will probably stick with it until '19. I've heard a lot of bad press on the online part, but man I haven't had too many bad experiences with respect to gameplay. It really plays a fun game online and that was never even my first game mode to play but it has me hooked.

I been doing the same since '10 (except '14 & '15. I bought both). 18 would have to blow me away with Franchise improvements to purchase

Played a game last night against the Reds. Amir Garrett had given up 4 runs in the first 4 innings and was trailing 4-0. He had thrown 70 something pitches after the 4th. He stayed in the game to throw 5 1/3 innings and get to 98 pitches.

So satisfying.
