The kicker is how they said in the developer streams how much better the announcers were going to be this year. Liars!
I still can't believe they haven't addressed the Ivy in Wrigley yet. Not a major problem but it was fine in years past.
The lighting in this game is second to none, not only with the proper sun and shadows, but even the hue. I noticed this as I was playing Game 5 of the 1989 NLCS as I had the actual game on Youtube on the computer. The lighting hue even changes depending on if you're playing in June, or if you're playing in October.
It's why I get so aggravated when the game has all these issues. It wasn't like MLB 2K6 where the game was just terrible, so it was easy to just stop playing. The Show 16 has so much going for it, making the bugs that much more frustrating.

Just bought the game today & I've only played the start up game. I was Kansas City & believe it or not I threw a no hitter with Edison Volquez first thing. Lol I'll be honest it was on beginners but I was just trying it out cause of the new batting angle etc.. It would've been perfect but a batter reached on an error.. Great way to start a game & purchase. Lol

Bump thread time!
I thought that for those of us that are still playing '16 for one reason or another, I would revive the impressions thread. We could discuss, ask questions, or share our experience.
Anyways, if you are still playing '16 and would like to talk about it, well here you go.
Currently in mid-April of my franchise and finishing up a four game series with the Cubs in Wrigley. The first two games have been crazy...
I won the first game of the series 7-3 in 10 innings. Scored the go ahead/game winning run on a ball hit back up the middle that hit the pitching rubber and skied into the air. Sierra who was on 2nd, and who is fast, was able to come around and score. Randall Grichuk then followed that up later with a 3 run homer that put the margin to 4 runs.

I had forgotten I had 16 in last and I just cut it back on to get todays live roster update. I knew something was amiss when I didnt hear ''Its time for Dodger baseball" but couldnt put my finger on it til I startted looking at the the update. Also I'm still impressed with how much better 16's opening is compared to 15. ughpuigh lol

Yes. Actually gave it to a friend. I prefer '16.
'16 is fairly cheap right now. If you have GCU at Best Buy I think you can get it like $12.

I am still rolling with 16. 17 is the first show I did not purchase at release.

I have to say this is surprising to see people still playing this. Especially Countryboy.
What are the reasons you guys went back? For me, ball physics alone makes 17 much better.
I guess if it's server issues I can see it, but imo gameplay is much better in 17.

My main issue with 17 is the QC issue. Loved 16 but 17 is a better game but I should have stuck to guns and waited a while for the issues (there's already some) to get ironed out.

For me, I think that '16 is the more balanced game and provides a better game of baseball on the whole.
There is no doubt that '17 offers things that '16 cannot but the overall feeling I got when playing '17 is that balance was off.
I guess the best I can describe it is that '17 feels more "arcadey" to me than '16. Couple that with a few of the bugs and I feel as though '16 provides the better experience.
My personal opinion is that because of ball physics and humanity AI that '17 needs more tuning then I think they can do via patches.
And honestly I'm not one to wait on patches to play a game. It either entertains me at the start or I move on.
As I've said before '17 isn't a bad game, it's actually a good game. It just isn't my game.

I was playing 16 solidly for the month prior to 17 releasing and was enjoying the hell out of it and that enjoyment has certainly dampened since I've been playing 17

I think I'm going back to 16. If 16 had just a little bit of a ball physics tweak, 17 would have nothing at all on 16.
I can't help but think SCEA has gone without competition for too long now; a little pressure from another game developer might do them good.

Agree 100% with capa. But I too am holding out hope that a patch or two will bring game/realism on par with or even better than 16.

Just finished a crazy game against the Cubs where I won 13-5. Started out with 4 in the first and then they scored one in the bottom half. I scored 1 in the 2nd to make it 5-1. They scored 2 in the 4th to make it 5-3. We score 2 in the top of the 5th to make it 7-3. They score one in the bottom of the 6th to make it 7-4. But we blow it open in the 7th scoring 5 and putting the game out of reach.
Neither pitcher got past 5 as both hit 100 pitches in that inning.
Game saw a combined 5 homeruns and 11 walks.
Craziness

I wouldn't personally go back to '16 but I understand why some are. '16 is a cleaner game right now with all of the issues with '17.
I respect country boys opinion and I'm thinking of downloading 16 again (I am a digital download guy). Are there current rosters?
