NBA Live 16 News Post

EA Sports has confirmed on their official Facebook page that NBA Live 16 will not feature NBA player or roster editing. That means, no accessory changes, no player rating adjustments, no changing jersey numbers, etc...

Maybe it gets patched in later? Maybe not, but this is not a good sign.

*YOU* damn kids are the problem!!![emoji13] I'm kidding. 2 days later and I'm still upset over this. My only somewhat remotely reasonable hope is that this can be remedied in a patch. But I know I'm better off not holding my breath.

Not a problem for me. Still a day 1 purchase

I highly doubt by doing that it would've taken away from development time on Pro Am. Let's face it, Live 16 is still barebones compared to the competition (no allstar weekend, Euro teams, modes, etc..) so I'm finding it hard to believe that after 3 years they still don't have editing in. Editing may not lead to more sales but I guarantee you not having it in will hurt their sales.
Yeah the game is definitely barebones offline point agreed. I know editing is huge around here.and I know you guys weren't saying it was a bigger seller than pro am but I really feel like EA made a choice to focus on online modes rather than the offline experience based on time and resources . That's the point I was making . I really do think it would've taken development time away from Pro Am and not a case of them being lazy this time lol

But when you're implementing big modes from scratch, those take a lot of resources/manpower. That doesn't leave a lot of your crew to work on this other huge task of custom editing, etc.

Myself, I'd 10:1 rather have editing than online, as it isn't my niche. Unfortunately, I'm not in the new age of creating a youtube series broadcasting my Rising Star/Myplayer or Live Run games. But there are a whole lot of people who are in to that sort of thing.

I'll reiterate, although it doesn't take the sting away from it not being there, just try the demo, experiment with the 6 included teams, and see if the gameplay is something that you can support.

It's not the same game as the past few yrs that needed a ton of editing.
why does everyone keep saying this game was built from scratch... that's so not truth. the game is still built of code of elite 11 and thus far......

I'm as hardcore into basketball as they come, and I think that's ridiculous.

I've put like 500 hours into the competition, and do you know how many hours I've spent editing rosters? Maybe 5.

Not really but you are under estimating how much ppl like to update rosters own their own. If EA keeps everything up to date then these complaints won't mean anything

What i was saying is that by Adding Editing, we could have so many more options to choose from in Rosters, making the Longevity of the game last Longer. We could ADD back Legends/College/High School/Fictional/FIBA Players that USERs, including the Younger Generation would enjoy.

IF Servers go down, what are you going to do with the Game? Having your CORE Modes attached to ON-Line is a Issue waiting to happen. Look at the Backlash when guys cant get on Servers. Basically the game is USELESS.
Tell em again B!!! Attachment 104515

So.. no editing, but what about cameras? Will we have more options to choose from and more camera angles this year? Does anyone know anything? Not being able to zoom in or out or having just 4 or 5 cameras to choose from is extremely weak.

My reasoning for adding editing: http://theeditorscorner.com/forum/thread-1686.html

I dont want to drive the DEVs away from OS, so feel free to comment there as well, as I am Tweeting the DEVs.

I didn't say it was built from scratch, but a ton of the code was. When you omit it in the earlier games, and add new code on top, it gets more difficult to code in.

It stinks, I know. Big time. I have asked til I'm blue in the face. Unfortunately, for those like us, we aren't getting what we desire. But for the games own good, they put the resources where it needed to go, to cater to that crowd.

I just don't get it. Does Live even want to compete? I mean I'll admit, I think 2k has been superior for a long time, but it looked like the graphics were improved and it was finally establishing something that the Live followers would like.

And then they go ahead and do this...

I've just been sitting back and reading a lot of the comments, some of them are funny to me.

It went from OH MAN IM SO HYPE to Dude EA is awful this is a definite NO to me.

Is there no middle ground? Can't you all just at least try the demo they are giving us and see if you like it. I'm sure if the gameplay is tight you can find some things you like about this game.

I've always been a 2K guy myself but I like Live too and want them both to be successful. I just hate seeing all the absolutes in here.

Just a thought

^ I agree with the sentiment to try it. However for me, if the franchise modes aren't up to par with the things i like/need/want, then i really don't want to play. It ends up being a bunch of exhibition games that i'll lose interest in very quickly no matter how good it is on court.

No player or roster editing is a pretty absolute thing. It's a pretty big deal.

# 176 KingTocco @ 08/15/15 12:27 PM
I didn't say it wasn't a big deal, I understand some care about it a ton and others don't.

I think it's a no brainer that it would be in the game but it's not. I'm still gonna check the game out and be hopeful the rest of it is pretty dope.

I'm not with calling the devs this and that....that's extreme...

but I don't even blame anyone for deciding against buying because of this...it's a big part of some users experience..

I dug my feet in the ground and refused to buy 2K15 if DRM returned....despite buying every prior edition...everyone has their priorities and what not...

I'll be getting Live this year, but this is a major blow towards its longevity for me personally...

I will still check, out the free download and,i might even enjoy the gameplay but Still with no editing in the game it wont be enough too keep my attention esp with the, competition giving me all the options i want. I wanted to buy Live this year in support of them actually putting competition back into sports gaming but with this news its still not as competitive as i thought.

I agree completely, my post was mainly made towards trying to get people to at least check it out.

And to also be constructive with feedback.
