NBA Live 16 News Post

EA Sports has confirmed on their official Facebook page that NBA Live 16 will not feature NBA player or roster editing. That means, no accessory changes, no player rating adjustments, no changing jersey numbers, etc...

Maybe it gets patched in later? Maybe not, but this is not a good sign.

If it's a big deal to add editing of players/rosters, don't expect the ability for cameras either; they probably would have touted it by now.

Is there any way we can get threads like this noticed by major videogame industry media outlets like IGN and GameSpot? I just want the uproar to be heard, we are not some ignorable percentage of the sports gaming population.

NE cams have been confirmed by ppl who have played it. Apparently there's a new one that looks really , really good.

Do outlets that review these games ever mention editing in their reviews ? the reviews are so vague now that's why I asked

Assuming it's synergy that's the issue.

The only way this will be cared about is if hundreds of thousands of potential customers will not buy the game because of that, and each one them will email EA to let them know the reason.

Do you really think they don't know people want editing in the game? It's just doesn't really hurt them, because the very most of those who buy the game every year will still buy it.

The concept of "we need to let them know" doesn't help, since they know. I'm sure some of these guys are die-hard basketball gamers themselves (but maybe they're not the ones making decisions). It just hasn't really affected them so far. If it did, this was in the game, or they just would decide that it's not profitable enough to keep making the game.

Great post man...

That was my thinking they are still going to get our money so really there's no urgency to allow editing back into the game unless there's a public out cry.

I also agree that hey have been aware of the importance of editing for the past few years so threads that lead to petitions on here at OS are redundant because it's nothing that ea reps haven't read before

I hate the decision they made but i don't expect anything to change....

In fact the way things are going i'm not even sure we'll ever see player editing in Live until new consoles are released again...

I think they are locked into this synergy system for the long haul

Is there no middle ground? Can't you all just at least try the demo they are giving us and see if you like it. I'm sure if the gameplay is tight you can find some things you like about this game.

I've always been a 2K guy myself but I like Live too and want them both to be successful. I just hate seeing all the absolutes in here.

Just a thought

I was literally about to post the same thing. If you were excited to play the game don't let the lack of editing turn you off. Yes I know it's a big deal to some but it shouldn't stop you from playing the game. Lots of you guys were getting super hyped for stuff that had nothing to do with editing. Now that you know there is no editing it's like all the other good stuff that was exciting no longer exists.

LOL. @ post like,

"This was a Day 1 buy, but now i wont even buy the game"

comon. for editing? not even gameplay, but editing? like i get people are mad, but i swear some of you guys are getting overdramatic about this or just trolling/ being silly. if thats all it took to take this game off the list of to buy or not, was this game REALLY even there?

Yeah because the roster section in the 2k forum is dead quiet.....The sig shot thread by itself has over 3000 posts in it....

But people are clearly just trolling...no one really cares about editing...

it's 2015, why wouldn't the game let you edit players? Seriously! Live is no longer under consideration for me.

I honestly thought EA had 2k worried for a min then they pull this crap and now everyone is like "don't worry you can edit in 2k"

Well player/roster editing does affect other gameplay MODES so I can see why ppl are changing their minds..some ppl value dynasty/franchise modes over online my career crew/pro am stuff....If it doesnt appeal to them why buy a product that doesnt support the modes or features you want?? Just like people have the right to say "i wasnt getting live, but now its a day one for me" same can be said about those "who were buying day one and now arent"...both parties have valid reasons in which they would or would not decide to spend their hard earned cash on live 16 ....now if they were jumping ship because anthony davis's eyebrows werent bushy enough then i'd definitely say thats overboard/petty

Exactly. How many times do we need to do a survey asking what would we like to see in the game, only to be told next year and its still not in?
The excuses people are making is so laughable for the 3rd year in a row, you don't even realized you've been milked along for 3 straight years. They are def gunning for your pockets, before they consider the little stuff.

Gameplay first and foremost. Then I want that damn live run they promised since elite! Online franchise with community settings/edits with offline option.

In this case it's a example of the interest there is in editing....not the usual "that's ok, I rather have this than the other option" post...

but I'm sure you understood the context of my post already.

Synergy was in live 10 and 11 and they had roster and player editing and they had an online share feature but you could still save locally. I don't believe in the synergy conspiracy I just think that if they had to choose between modes and gameplay vs customization because of the 1 year cycle, they had to choose what sells. At least we have sliders, just gotta wait till next year I guess

True...good point.

I've been all about showing my support for Live for their advancements & improvements. But maybe I'll do what I am doing with Madden 16 this year, i.e., wait a few days to buy the game pre-owned -- no sale for you, EA! But I still get to enjoy the game [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38]
