NBA Live 16 News Post

EA Sports has confirmed on their official Facebook page that NBA Live 16 will not feature NBA player or roster editing. That means, no accessory changes, no player rating adjustments, no changing jersey numbers, etc...

Maybe it gets patched in later? Maybe not, but this is not a good sign.

Guys they have automatic (Synergy) server based player and roster editing for the time being. The series just rebooted not too long ago. So their main concern first is most likely game modes for the casuals and gameplay enhancements for the hardcore like us. All the extra "specs" to the game itself such as "Player or Roster Editing" will most likely be implemented once they master the series and reach sale milestones!

.... And I just cancelled my preorder. I'll be happier with NBA Live 2004 for the XBOX. At least there I can edit players and craft my own rosters. Come on, EA... It's 2015. This is an absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable omission. You added two toilet worthy online modes I'll never play only to neglect a fundamental element of any modern sports sim. **** this on the real.

The fact that this topic almost has the same amount of replies as the Pro Am news they released yesterday should show how important this feature is.

I bought Live 15 i loved the gameplay but only good mode was ultimate team the others were so bare bones the big moments are boring nba rewind is not needed because i could do that in tip off and rising star has no purpose at all and dynasty is horrible there is no customizable rosters plus live 10 dynasty was better plus there was no all star weekend and no edit players....... Skip to this year no news on rising star or dynasty plus no edit players or all star weekend what are we supposed to play when pro am gets boring or what happens if a nba player starts wearing a headband and changes his shoes and wears a sleeve i cant update him but i will have to wait and see if ea wants to update that player or not smh im buying 2k16 the gameplay on 2k is worse to me but at least the modes are better

Not surprised with the choice EA has made. They just don't get it. I would give them a pass if Synergy actually worked the way they pretend it does.

Thank goodness for the EA Vault

Only reason why I'm concerned is the fact that everyone else is concerned.. Live has a chance to make a splash and win back users. As long as gameplay is balanced I'm all in for Live.. But I play online a lot, I want so many people playing live so I don't have to wait forever to find someone to play against. First blow against Live this year. Almost everything else was positive
This. I didn't personally care about the customization, but I hate to see EA lose customers when they are on the come up.

This wouldn't be a surprise because these guys never seem to be on the same page with each other

Even with the flaws in this game I'd be willing to bet money they would sale more copies if they would just include editing options rather than rely on Synergy for another waisted year.

I felt this way about Live 15 that the game could be markedly improved with editing options available to the consumer

It does suck that Live is losing customers by this news and I am one of them, but of all sports games NBA Live is the last game that can afford to leave out features, with all the apologies and canceled games in the past you would think by now they would know how to meet casual and hardcore fans halfway.

Still seems they have a one step forward two steps back mentality.

So you honestly think that advertising this game with "NOW WITH ROSTER EDITING!" Instead of pro-am would have given it more sales? Really?

I'm as hardcore into basketball as they come, and I think that's ridiculous.

I've put like 500 hours into the competition, and do you know how many hours I've spent editing rosters? Maybe 5.

Come on Bro your not advertising the game with editing your giving the fans what they desire and what they had 10 years ago on older systems....

They have known this for the past few years how important editing is in all sports games not just Live.

When you go to any roster section for any basketball game on these forums you don't see people talking about MY player or Pro Am edits for SIM gameplay....

If you don't like editing rosters that is cool but IMO there's a great deal of people here who could give 2 cents about putting their face in the game or creating themselves....

There should be options to customize the game to our liking and that has nothing to do with MARKETING and everything to do with not selling the CONSUMER short.

I find it funny that you can create your guy and rate your guy and there's mention of it breaking anything or hurting Synergy.....

Yet you make one change to the actual NBA players and all hell will break loose with Synergy according to EA...

I understand guys will support them but lets not undervalue the IMPORTANCE of roster editing to this community just because they added some feature that allows you put yourself in the game.

There's a reason why this forum goes completely dead after 2-3 months of playing Live and I can assure you not having the ability to edit rosters is right up at the top of the list......while the competitor game forum stays active 365 days a year right up to release of the next version.

Some of you guys are taking this harder than me lol

Let your voices be heard!!! We deserve editing!

Honestly, the only way live can bring in the casual masses is if the hardcore people spend all year raving about it to their friends. The people who don't pay attention are gonna get 2K because its what they know and their hardcore friends have spent the last 5+ years saying it was the better game.

PM, with all due respect, OS is just drop in the bucket of the basketball videogame market. Unfortunately, analytics tell publishers what the masses want. This forum isn't the end all, be all. I wish it were, but unfortunately it's not.

I'd go as far to say that some of the devs want this more than some users even, but they're tied to what the Games direction is.

You all can debate the decision all you want, and feel that you're correct, I thought the same way. But analytics of the masses say what to focus on.

And even though everyone thinks it's as simple as adding a few menu buttons... that couldn't be further from the truth. Sure, editing is on other titles. The code has been in place for those. For this title, it isnt.

I want editing, but the assumptions that they aren't listening is assanine. Once the game is in your hands (for free), you'll see that they listened to a ton of gameplay feedback. This is just a little tougher than adding a few menus.

It sucks but sliders is still good enough. Sliders would have made 15 better

As long as they fix how rotations work I'm good.

Yea I'm strictly online but I feel for you offline guys, maybe it can be patched in.
