NBA Live 16 News Post

No NBA Player or Roster Editing in NBA Live 16 Confirmed

EA Sports has confirmed on their official Facebook page that NBA Live 16 will not feature NBA player or roster editing. That means, no accessory changes, no player rating adjustments, no changing jersey numbers, etc...

Maybe it gets patched in later? Maybe not, but this is not a good sign.

This will be the 3rd straight year i say this...

It's not so bad if the updates are rock solid and complete..... problem is, THERE NOT!

2K's roster forums is like a like sold out concert

Live roster forums is like the concert they give away free tickets but no one even bothers to show up....

Let me, just get this straight we haven't even touched the game yet and it looks fantastic from what we've seen and most of you guys are saying y'all not getting the game because of one little thing like player editing? Smh so if 2k or madden didn't have player editing y'all telling me you still wouldn't get it ?

I just want a game where i don't feel forced to use EA's default rosters as my only option for gameplay.

I would have been content with the ability to have 200 CAPS to create players.

I'm happy to have sliders but that is just half the battle IMO in order for me to play the game over the long haul......

There are things that I don't like about the other game....

But I have to admit their staff tends to get it when it comes to replay value in their game and appealing to the SIM fan base just as much as the casual fan base.

Although this is bad news for me, i'm not too pissed.
I'd rather EA work on the gameplay side of things, then modify modes and roster customizing in the future.

Nope. I buy games every other year and play offline. I like to keep my rosters as up to date as possible. How would I be able to do that without the ability to edit rosters/players?

I bought Live last year without knowing that edits weren't possible. That was my fault. It will not happen again. I was under the impression that roster edits would be in this year's title, wrong. I was looking forward to Live 16 but editing omission killed that dream, dead.
If it's anything like last year it will be on sale by November and half priced by Christmas. That's when I'll think about getting it.

Still very much disappointed but I think these guys still have some heat coming. Apparently there's an article stating no mj but they might be keeping him a secret.

I agree that gameplay is no.1, but editing players, in my opinion, does affect gameplay. The way players play is part of how the game plays, to me. Also, I think that many times the animation that plays is related to the player's abilities and/or signature packages (and also tendencies, when it comes to AI players).

We need answers to why this is not In can someone respond ????? I went on twitter and nobody has yet to ask or I'm not seeing any feedback about this .....I wanna know EA live team response to why we gotta go 1 more year without ability to have options in our game that's what this is all about having option and the ability to customize your game without having to wait for patches and inaccurate roster updates ...I wanna change jersey #'s or edit player minutes or make trades smh EA Your Better than this

Gameplay and player editing go hand in hand.....

In order for "game play" to be good "individual player wise"basically (lebron to"act/play" like lebron on court )there has to be some sort of customizations goin within player editing correct????

Sig shots
Player tendencies
Awareness
3pt ratings
Dunk ratings
Dribble ratings
Steal ratings
On ball def ratings
Etc...

All these can have an effect on the way your player or a.i behave during the game....

So for the people that are saying its not needed or they are glad that they are just focusing on gameplay..how??? When player editing is a factor in driving gameplay....that goes for majority all sports titles not just live....player editing is more than just accessories...

Ppl that only care about gameplay or play online modes shouldn't respond....If u play dynasty mode and u want ya pg to play 30 mins a game u should be able to do that ....if u watching a game on tv and see that lebron is no longer wearing a sleeve or changed it to specific color u should be able to fire up ya console and update your player it's about having the option to control rosters in your game and not have to wait for an update or a patch it's simple but important and users should be able to control that THE OTHER GAME ALLOW U TO DO IT... ME BEING A HARDCORE LIVE FAN IS REALLY PISSED ABOUT THIS .....

Not trying throw EA under the bus most of there roster updates the accessories weren't on point Myself and few others are why we had accurate accessories update I posted plenty pictures which allowed the Devs to get the correct accessories on players go to forum look it up I'm not taking all credit but I don't feel I have to do that we should have the ability to do it on our own so yeah this is a big deal for the community for 60 bucks things like this should be standard with sports game think about it NHL 15 took alot of heat for not having player editing and other game modes I would of thought nba live would learned a thing or two from them ....Live is now only next Gen sports game without this feature SAD !!

I am pretty upset about this. The people who say "well Synergy updates players for you" miss the point. If you are playing Dynasty mode, it does not update. Traded players have the wrong numbers, equipment, the whole nine. There is only so much Tip Off games you can play before the game gets redundant.
This was a deal breaker for me last year, and a huge deal breaker this year. I will not buy the game. EA has yet to grasp how important customization is to us, or they just don't care. It shows in Madden and in Live. All my excitement for this game is gone, and once again EA has me in "wait till next year" mode, like always...
