My posture on RMPGAT is this, until I get an option to turn off the post shot celebrations, turn off the tempo meter in the HUD during the swing, and real time, hole-by-hole scoring updates are added to the online tournament leaderboards, RMPGAT won't be on my shopping list.
This is the case for me to a "T" as well.

Also, although I know it will likely not happen, some semblance/simulacrum of a playoff has to exist for me to really get into a career mode.

I think EA Sports has pretty much given up on the career mode playoff situation, but they've got bigger fish to fry right now with this game. Now that the "bug fix" update is over, it will be interesting to see how or if they address the three areas of concern I listed earlier. I've come to learn that these are also on the minds of a number of others, particularly the first two.

I can't see why they couldn't at least tell you what the other playoff competitor(s) shot on a hole when you get to the first playoff hole and allow you to at least go after that. It would certainly be better than just being awarded a win for a tie.

25th wedding anniversary and bride picked this up for me. (After little cruise through Caribbean...). Prior to 1st shot I switched everything over to max difficulty, no zoom, no loft trail, no beads on greens. IMO It plays a very good game of golf. I played a steady 15 favourites on TGC so I can live with courses for now. Online is ..... lacking fun factor. Maybe I don't have it set up properly I dunno. No commentary just golf. More clothing options and game face would be welcomed.

Tried the Early Access demo, didn't like that all golfer models are still way off.
Seriously why are all of EA's games going backwards with simple stuff.

Got through season 1 in fine shape. Made it to East Lake and finished dead last. Now in season 2 and have won 1st 5 tournaments where unfortunately only 1was by a close margin. The other 4 have me winning by 10 or so strokes. Golfer up to level 87.

Is the game's competition going to catch up or is this what I can expect from here on out?

Played an online "tour" daily. Came in at what I thought was a respectable 5 under. Leader was -22. For 18 holes....

-22? in Tour?? Whoa! I hope the additional advanced difficulty options that can be added to Tour ratchet the challenge up a bit...

In standard TOUR difficulty online and depending on the course and conditions, I can see someone doing this every once in a while, but at the majority of the real courses, especially East Lake, Chambers Bay, etc I would have to see that to believe it.....

And I do hope they add an "Advanced" difficulty online, but I am beginning to doubt it which is a shame.....

We need an option to turn the tempo bubble off.
I think looking at your golfers swing would be better.
Like The Golf Club.

Don't look at it. It took me a whole season to get to where I didn't, but now I don't even notice it.

I don't accept this. It should be an option to turn it off. I don't want to see it on the screen, I should not have to ignore it.

That's not what I said.....I agree that it should be an option to see in the game as a minimum. But it IS doable until then.....

Well I certainly spoke too soon. After winning first 6 tourneys in season 2 I promptly missed the cut by 2 strokes in week 7 at Sawgrass Couldn't hit a fairway in round 1 finding pond after pond... Makes me happy!

Its early days since I just picked this up on psn 2 days ago but it's one of the most fun EA games I have played in a long while.

I am at the players championship, first season in my career.

Last tournament at quail hollow was amazing. I have been doing quick rounds all 4 but I was 8 off the lead at -2 heading into the final round so I decided to play all 18.

I made a furious charge and posted a number in the clubhouse, the excitement kind of fizzled after that and the game just simmed whoever won gaining two more strokes on my number and event over.

But the ride on the way was really fun.

Round 1 holes 1-7

I apologize here, I had my phone out and set the timer for 15 minutes for ps4 vid capture.
First one upped fine and I continued playing after resetting the timer. I upped this vid with 1 minute left on the timer. No clue why it cut off 2 minutes of gameplay at the front of the vid so this picks up with me putting on 9. Hole 8 is a mystery, lost forever.

And for whatever reason, stopping at 15min and then upping and then resuming worked flawlessly here. As it should. Not the first time this ps4 vid save has done this odd stuff.
Holes 16-18

Sawgrass career mode all assists off. I dont like it.

Pros know where to hit it. So zoom should be on at least to get your bearings. If the hole overhead view showed your shot trajectory that would be sufficient. But it does not.

Green grid should be on because with zoom off you can't even look at your putt from the side, which is dumb since pros look at the side and from the reverse angle all the time before putting.

Round 1 quick rounds

Round 2 quick rounds

Round 3 quick rounds

Opinions vary. I can putt almost as well without a grid as with. I do think an additional behind the cup camera would be beneficial. Give it time, grid less greens are very playable and challenging once you play enough.....

# 456 BL8001 @ 01/03/16 11:29 AM
Yes but what pro golfer doesnt observe his putt from different angles before putting?

I guess the one who is making a living teaching the swing in some remote town and not playing the tour.

Zoom just needs an option of on/off/short game only (any shot with 30yds)/only putting

I'm not arguing about this. Just saying it IS playable currently. I have been beating the drum for more cameras since release here and in other forums.....

I have also been playing around with settings trying to figure out the appropriate settings to start my career with. Currently I have everything off and I have been doing practice rounds to mediocre results. I may need to leave Green Grid on because with the lack of cameras you can really find yourself guessing.

Yep, I don't mind turning off the assists but life on the pga tour is built around having more info, every bit of knowledge they have leads to lower scores.

They all strike the ball well enough that the game really is putting and who makes the fewest.

So being blind on the greens serves no purpose to me.

I know you can putt with it off, I did it. And it just felt dumb.

IRL some players have their caddies stand on the high or low side. You can use the human form to vizualize the slope. It's a little secret. Just look at shoes as the first indicator.

I was really hoping EA knew this and had the caddy staying to one side. For the first 5 holes I played after thinking to check this he stood on the lowside in the game and I was so happy. Then he didn't, then he did, then he didn't and I knew it was just random caddy placing.

Can't expect EA to know that trick.

Your choice of camera also has alot to do with being able to read the greens. While you say it feels dumb to you, I feel going gridless feels more like how it is to putt IRL, there is the element of surprise and chance. I have completed two full seasons in Career on Xbox One and PS4 and I can read the greens almost as well as with a grid on. It simply takes practice. LOTS of practice.
