NBA Live 15 News Post

Another NBA Live 15 title update has arrived this morning. It includes Christmas uniforms and weighs in at 948 MB. The patch is currently available on the PlayStation 4.

We will update this post once it is available on Xbox One and/or we get any additional information on the update.

Let us know what you are seeing.

UPDATE: NBA Live 15 title update #2 will be available for Xbox One users tomorrow. Below are the details, taken from the official blog, which contains more than 400 improvements.

UPDATE #2: The blog has been updated. The patch will not arrive on Saturday, it has been changed to "Coming Soon".

Synergy will affect rosters both offline and online. If a player doesn't dress, he will not be available in online or offline Play Now. This will not affect Dynasty, Rising Star or Ultimate Team.

NEW PLAYER HEAD SCANS

Added 15 scanned player heads including:
  • Noah Vonleh
  • Shabazz Napier
  • Gary Harris
  • Elfrid Payton
  • Zach LaVine
  • Dario Saric
  • James Young
  • Nik Stauskas
  • T.J. Warren
  • Doug McDermott
CHRISTMAS DAY UNIFORMS
Added uniforms that teams will wear on Christmas Day

LIVE ULTIMATE TEAM
More than 50 bug fixes, as well as an improved interface for LUT Fantasy Challenges. Also added Quicksell Value view to Items, as well as Pack Bundles.

THREE-POINT SHOOTING
Adjustments to three-point shooting percentage and effectiveness, for both CPU and User controlled teams.

CONTESTED LAYUPS
Tuned collisions and contests when driving the lane and going up for a layup for more varied results. Expect more misses if there is heavy contact in the paint.

SIGNATURE JUMPERS AND FREE THROW ROUTINES
Added more authentic shooting animations for players around the league.

SHOT TIMING
We’ve made timing for releasing your shot more forgiving for both online and offline play. Now, the timing feels more natural and predictable.

BALL TRAJECTORY AND PHYSICS
Tuned the shot arc and rim physics for more organic shot types and results. Gone are the days where every made three-pointer is a swish.

DEFENSIVE BITE AND PUMP FAKE ANIMATIONS
Players will recover much quicker and have better overall positioning while defending dribble moves and fakes.

INBOUND PLAYS
Tuned the AI during inbound plays to be more responsive and initiate more movement.

SHOT FEEDBACK METER
Enhanced the feedback system to include your player’s rating for that particular shot type and whether you were open or not.

INVISIBLE BOUNDARIES
Cleaned up some of the invisible boundary issues when moving along the baseline with the ball.

STEAL ATTEMPTS
Tuned stealing to address spamming issues with results in more fouls being called.

END OF GAME AI
Address late game AI issues where players would not react or respond naturally – often causing them to dribble the ball out or not attempt a shot with the clock winding down.

INTENTIONAL FOUL
Adjusted the intentional foul animation to address player warping issues.

The problem with these title updates is they are essentially somone ELSE imposing THEIR sliders on you.

I had got my defense down really well and had the cpu shooting sub 45% most games.....but now the devs decide to tweak cpu shooting to miss open shots and now the cpu is shooting aroynd 30% when I play them.

Honestly, if you double team on drives and close quickly on shooters, you can keep them to absurdly low levels now as they brick open shots. The 3 point cheese and drives were 'all' they had.

It is ridiculous that we get someone else's sliders imposed on us and are stuck with whatever they update. The game desperately needs to allow the user to edit their own Settings.

I like that the release isn't so quick and you can get a green release at the top of the jump more effectively but releasing early needs to be tweaked...I think the made the window bigger for green release but it's not accurately working as far as make or miss on release...I guess what I mean is it feels like a false positive.

My second issue is that way too many easy shots two feet from the bucket are missed as it says contested when really the guy isn't defending it enough to make the guy miss. A good shooter like Kobe should not miss again and again from 3-5 feet from the basket. The cpu is almost un-shakable, even when I do get them on a hesitation they recover so quickly an easy pull up jumper is contested from the side and missed from 3-7 feet....terrible and annoying. The other part of this that sucks which many are mentioning is that the cpu is not effected as much they've knocked down shots with 2 and 3 defenders contesting...all I can say is WTF!!

Lastly...this has made the ultimate team challenges impossible for me....even some of the easier ones...like rookie 2 using all bronze players...no one can make a shot while the computer just rains buckets and drives through the paint with ease.

Player vs player online it's not bad because it's fair game, but have similar stats...but against cpu it's horrible.

Please EA fix these issues ASAP...I have not been happy with these issues. Rosters I'm good with but the game play right now is jacked up.
Ok so I played a few more games last night and outside of ultimate team things seem pretty good...I was able to win a few games on all star and the stats were pretty good. I think my issue was I was mostly playing ultimate team mode. Maybe it's just me, is anyone playing ultimate team mode noticing that bronze or even silver players cannot make a guarded or contested shot ever? I mean before the patch bronze players like Billups could play reasonably but post patch....the highest rated bronze players can't make a damn basket.

Anyway...outside of ultimate team I like the new difficulty and having to work to get open shots...there are some things that could be balanced a little more but overall it's pretty good.

Online shot release is way better now. It feels like I at least have a chance (pre patch was nuts).

I did see some 3 rattle in, not a lot but at least it happens here and there so at least when I see the ball touch the rim, there IS A CHANCE it can drop, unlike before.

Synergy seemed correct (in terms of the Raptors always). It had LAndry Fields starting at the 2 (because of the Derozan injury). pre patch this would've taken weeks to change, so this is good.

Lastly, just a little observation (I'm a jersey head, as many of you know). I was using Toronto and chose to wear the purple throwbacks (which are slightly incorrect, in regards to this 20th anniversary season anyways). But when actually "playing the game" it looks to me like the NBA logo is above the name on the back of the jersey, but when I go to instant replay or see a cutscene, the logo is not on the back of the jersey but back to the front ?? Am i just tripping out ? Anyone else seeing this ? Did they fix this jersey only when your playing the game but not for replays or cutscenes ??

Did the update come for Xbox One yet? This thing has been out for nearly a week for PS4 already.

I don't know why sometimes I can't commit to this game for some odd reason.

Did someone from EA sit down with the live team and tell them "come on guys your game is too fun and has none of the patented EA frustrations. What the hell are you playing at?"

Because that is exactly what the patch has addressed, now this feels like a typical EA sports title where as before it didn't.

I think they need to raise the open shot percentages like 5 percent. Keep the red contested ones the same, and raise the yellow guarded or like 8 percent. Free throws definitely need a drop in percentage. And bad free throw shooters perfect release window needs to be way smaller. Timing is too easy so guys like Dwight are good Frethrow shooters. Also mid range and inside needs a Like 5 percent increase.

Also perfect release window needs to be smaller.Q

Wish they would allow some community members to test before patch releases! All this headache and issues would be reduced especially if they're unable to allow edits and sliders this year!

Am i the only one who plays with automation OFF? I like it a lot better....honestly it seems like it gets me a lot more open looks.....

So for those that have played post patch is the shot timing a little more normal now? To me it was way to fast and you had to release at the start on the shooting motion instead of the top.

Also I just don't understand the offline roster "fix" of not being able to use injured in a offline quick game. Who is asking for that? Is EA really that out of touch?
If I can make simple roster edits I should at least be able to decide if I want to play with an injured player off line. Surely I'm not the only person who feels this way.

Post patch the option to add them in the lineup is no longer available at least for quick or tip off games.let me know if I missed something.

Game since the latest update has been fine for me. The one thing that I would like to see is more difficulty when shooting FT's. Pretty much $$ no matter who I use. I need that feeling of when a game is close and my worst foul shooter goes to the line I want to know that this is not gonna be good. Also adds to the strategy late game.

Still no update on the Xbox patch

Has anyone playing on Superstar post patch tried All Star? I played only one game at this level and was quite pleasantly surprised. The defense, though a bit looser, is still in tact but open enough to allow for a decent experience in terms of shot balance for both sides ( I'm especially concerned that the cpu is able to capitalize on opportunities and provide a good challenge). The one thing I didn't like as much was that players did not move around as much even with auto motion. However, that was only a 1 game observation! Also, some prefer the game with this feature off. Post your thoughts about this observation when you can.

Anyone experience a player get injured?

# 217 The 24th Letter @ 12/17/14 01:18 PM
Auto motion OFF works a lot better for me because it automatically maximizes the space on the floor...and if need be I can call a quick L1 play or pick to get some offense. One thing Live does well is when you go to a spot, your team mates do a good job of relocating, so you can create natural openings...Auto motion crowds the floor a little too much for me...and seems to make players cut at the worst time...

Whats funny is that the game tends to remind you that you can press L1 for a quick play when things start to stagnate...so it seems to have an idea of when you need some help. It would be cool if your team mates were programmed to start moving at these times to create some offense.

Played a couple of games while the patch was downloading to try to make a decent observation of the changes included in the patch. Havent played the game in over a month so it was a fresh experience either way.

In the games I played pre-update I was pleasantly surprised at how well the game flowed. After watching a lot of NBA so far this season I really felt like the pacing of the game was very realistic.

Teams like the Thunder are really fun to play with in this game because I love the one-on-one/iso aspect of Live 15 as well as the pick and roll. I feel like those are reflected well in this game.

I had difficulty scoring on superstar so I will bump the difficulty down to allstar after the patch is installed.

UPDATE:
After one game with the patch I am very optimistic about the future of the franchise. The improvement from live 14 at release to the game at its current state is pretty incredible.

The guys at EA deserve a lot of credit, and I am proud to say this game is headed in the right direction rather quickly.

In my first game I was beaten by the bucks on allstar. It was a fun game. Still some wonky shot attempts and disorganized possessions but I got better as the game went on.

But man, this game is looking good and playing pretty damn good as well. It doesn't have the super simulation aspect found over on the dark side, but this game does A LOT of things right. Looking forward to spending more time with the game.

My biggest issue right now is the lack of customization and the depth of the game. Quick games get old rather quickly. Thinking about diving into a dynasty but that mode isn't so deep either. Sliders would be nice, but mannnn if we could edit rosters/players/attributes and sig moves we would be set.

I highly recommend the release of another big patch in the future. Give us some ability to customize our game with player editing could do wonders. PLEASE EA! You are finally on the right track.

Will post a few more impressions after a couple more games.

Glad you're enjoying it. You're in a small, but devoted club!
