NBA Live 15 News Post


Another NBA Live 15 title update has arrived this morning. It includes Christmas uniforms and weighs in at 948 MB. The patch is currently available on the PlayStation 4.

We will update this post once it is available on Xbox One and/or we get any additional information on the update.

UPDATE: NBA Live 15 title update #2 will be available for Xbox One users tomorrow. Below are the details, taken from the official blog, which contains more than 400 improvements.

UPDATE #2: The blog has been updated. The patch will not arrive on Saturday, it has been changed to "Coming Soon".

Synergy will affect rosters both offline and online. If a player doesn't dress, he will not be available in online or offline Play Now. This will not affect Dynasty, Rising Star or Ultimate Team.

Added 15 scanned player heads including:
  • Noah Vonleh
  • Shabazz Napier
  • Gary Harris
  • Elfrid Payton
  • Zach LaVine
  • Dario Saric
  • James Young
  • Nik Stauskas
  • T.J. Warren
  • Doug McDermott
CHRISTMAS DAY UNIFORMS
Added uniforms that teams will wear on Christmas Day

LIVE ULTIMATE TEAM
More than 50 bug fixes, as well as an improved interface for LUT Fantasy Challenges. Also added Quicksell Value view to Items, as well as Pack Bundles.

THREE-POINT SHOOTING
Adjustments to three-point shooting percentage and effectiveness, for both CPU and User controlled teams.

CONTESTED LAYUPS
Tuned collisions and contests when driving the lane and going up for a layup for more varied results. Expect more misses if there is heavy contact in the paint.

SIGNATURE JUMPERS AND FREE THROW ROUTINES
Added more authentic shooting animations for players around the league.

SHOT TIMING
We’ve made timing for releasing your shot more forgiving for both online and offline play. Now, the timing feels more natural and predictable.

BALL TRAJECTORY AND PHYSICS
Tuned the shot arc and rim physics for more organic shot types and results. Gone are the days where every made three-pointer is a swish.

DEFENSIVE BITE AND PUMP FAKE ANIMATIONS
Players will recover much quicker and have better overall positioning while defending dribble moves and fakes.

INBOUND PLAYS
Tuned the AI during inbound plays to be more responsive and initiate more movement.

SHOT FEEDBACK METER
Enhanced the feedback system to include your player’s rating for that particular shot type and whether you were open or not.

INVISIBLE BOUNDARIES
Cleaned up some of the invisible boundary issues when moving along the baseline with the ball.

STEAL ATTEMPTS
Tuned stealing to address spamming issues with results in more fouls being called.

END OF GAME AI
Address late game AI issues where players would not react or respond naturally – often causing them to dribble the ball out or not attempt a shot with the clock winding down.

INTENTIONAL FOUL
Adjusted the intentional foul animation to address player warping issues.

The biggest miss step was the first Live on the 360 (in my opinion). They seemed to have righted the ship with Live 10, then the company went in a different direction and went through the Elite phase. 15 is a game I enjoy, and I'm looking forward to the patch for the Xbox One.

They messed up the moment they came to PS3/X360, and then killed themselves when they decided to abandon Live and go with Elite, sucks cuz Live 10 was finally showing signs of revival and then they crash and burned, this game (Live 15) really should be what should have been Live 11, imagine what we could have had by now

I really wanted to get a franchise going with live but I might have to go elsewhere for that. I can't deny the fun of the game but the little things are adding up for me.

No consolation but I'm sure it's just an oversight??

They have no doubt moved in the right direction with Live 15 but when this type of stuff happens you can't help but to get frustrated again with EA

Ah, gotcha.. I saw him in my earlier Mavs/GSW matchup so it threw me off...guess they really updating real time...

Still a huge oversight. It's not good enough.

You are telling me if Lebron, Rose, Durant, Harden etc all go down with season ending injuries, EA honestly remove them from play (quick game that is).

We paid money for an NBA game and deserve to play with any player we wish.

Many gamers prefer a simple 'quick game' without having to go into Season or Dynasty modes.

I can forgive sliders missing, but not allowing manual roster options in a sports game in 2014, is just poor.

I'm honestly a fan of the new roster update change. Hated how I would have to wait a week for an injured player to be placed back in the lineup.

So do they update once the official game time decision is made? I know Parsons checked in during an earlier game I had...but I see Black is still starting over D12. Kind've thrown off by how it works now..

Yes, the cpu is too easily stifled post patch, simply atrocious fg%'s. It may play out OK cpu vs cpu however vs human is TOTALLY a different story. I have devised global defensive strategy modifications that actually make this issue more tolerable until they can release a fix for this. There is a thread for this. The main changes are onball defense> Tight(or Normal if you need more offensive output from cpu) and off ball defense> auto.

I just wish we didn't have to resort to these steps to address a problem created by a patch.

This doesn't carry over to a Dynasty that you've already started right?

The gameplay feels better in Play Now than when in my Dynasty.

I can see the positives of this approach to roster updates however they should have at the very least provided some sort of alternative for the population that prefers to have original starters in the game. As it stands, it's an alienating move on their part. Hope they address this soon.

Remember if u wanted if it's in the game it's in the game, well u got it w the rosters. I'm a huge 2K fan, but I got this 4 30 bucks and having fun w it.

I swear in 2K if there is an injured player you can't play with them in play now/exhibition mode. I remember in 2K14 I wanted to play with bulls but rose was hurt

They give you the choice to select the roster with or without injuries though.

2K has active and injury free roster options when you load a quick game.


It also has tonnes of community rosters you can use for quick games.


LIVE has one single opition..........and that means you are stuck with whatever roster played last night's NBA games. If LeBron gets injured for 6 weeks, you won't be able to use him etc.


They really need to allow community rosters via share.

On the plus side with the Synergy Rosters I'm now seeing new faces that were buried deep in the bench previously especially for the cpu. Big baby Davis in this game is scaled accurately my goodness . They should simply give us the 2 roster option to allow us well...options! I must say, the game is playing very well at this moment (and I can say this after having just played the other game with it's recent fantastic patch update!). I previously refrained from updating from Synergy due to the whole LeBron not being in the game debacle. However, I must be honest here and say that this game is playing the best basketball yet ( I'm guessing Synergy and coaching defensive strategies modifications and off course the patch all contribute to this experience)

As WTF pointed out I'm now seeing the quick decisions by the cpu on offense, some very nice sequences and animations that are clearly new. On defense, no more automatic points as pre patch especially in the paint, more contacts and collisions leading to body contortions and missed shots, good results! Even seeing double blocks and behind the back blocks now! On the subject of defense, teams that are highly capable defensively truly shine post patch ( have to utilize more screens and create better spacing etc while playing against such teams) and it really shows up in the fg%'s! Prior to the patch this was less evident it seemed due to a lack of defense all around. The best thing is that games have become somewhat sufficiently challenging again! More patches to address other issues hopefully soon and I expect others to give the game due credit. Still more work to do. Steals are still a bit too easy to accomplish.
