NBA Live 15 News Post

Another NBA Live 15 title update has arrived this morning. It includes Christmas uniforms and weighs in at 948 MB. The patch is currently available on the PlayStation 4.

We will update this post once it is available on Xbox One and/or we get any additional information on the update.

Let us know what you are seeing.

UPDATE: NBA Live 15 title update #2 will be available for Xbox One users tomorrow. Below are the details, taken from the official blog, which contains more than 400 improvements.

UPDATE #2: The blog has been updated. The patch will not arrive on Saturday, it has been changed to "Coming Soon".

Synergy will affect rosters both offline and online. If a player doesn't dress, he will not be available in online or offline Play Now. This will not affect Dynasty, Rising Star or Ultimate Team.

NEW PLAYER HEAD SCANS

Added 15 scanned player heads including:
  • Noah Vonleh
  • Shabazz Napier
  • Gary Harris
  • Elfrid Payton
  • Zach LaVine
  • Dario Saric
  • James Young
  • Nik Stauskas
  • T.J. Warren
  • Doug McDermott
CHRISTMAS DAY UNIFORMS
Added uniforms that teams will wear on Christmas Day

LIVE ULTIMATE TEAM
More than 50 bug fixes, as well as an improved interface for LUT Fantasy Challenges. Also added Quicksell Value view to Items, as well as Pack Bundles.

THREE-POINT SHOOTING
Adjustments to three-point shooting percentage and effectiveness, for both CPU and User controlled teams.

CONTESTED LAYUPS
Tuned collisions and contests when driving the lane and going up for a layup for more varied results. Expect more misses if there is heavy contact in the paint.

SIGNATURE JUMPERS AND FREE THROW ROUTINES
Added more authentic shooting animations for players around the league.

SHOT TIMING
We’ve made timing for releasing your shot more forgiving for both online and offline play. Now, the timing feels more natural and predictable.

BALL TRAJECTORY AND PHYSICS
Tuned the shot arc and rim physics for more organic shot types and results. Gone are the days where every made three-pointer is a swish.

DEFENSIVE BITE AND PUMP FAKE ANIMATIONS
Players will recover much quicker and have better overall positioning while defending dribble moves and fakes.

INBOUND PLAYS
Tuned the AI during inbound plays to be more responsive and initiate more movement.

SHOT FEEDBACK METER
Enhanced the feedback system to include your player’s rating for that particular shot type and whether you were open or not.

INVISIBLE BOUNDARIES
Cleaned up some of the invisible boundary issues when moving along the baseline with the ball.

STEAL ATTEMPTS
Tuned stealing to address spamming issues with results in more fouls being called.

END OF GAME AI
Address late game AI issues where players would not react or respond naturally – often causing them to dribble the ball out or not attempt a shot with the clock winding down.

INTENTIONAL FOUL
Adjusted the intentional foul animation to address player warping issues.

No, I've had a lot of crazy rattle in shots. One hung on the rim for a few

I'm a little disappointed after reading this. In my opinion all they did was tweak a couple of things and add a few face scans. They still haven't even gotten all star players like Rudy gay with even an average look.

I honestly think this game is good. But the one thing that looks so ugly is post animations. You might be able to play in the post.but it looks so ugly and absolutely dreadful that I can't stand to play there.

They need to majorly overhaul the post animations. If they do that, we would have a fantastic game and I would have hope for Live 16. As annoyed as I am that 2k didn't patch Xbox one yet, I am so disappointed that I only see aa few minor changes. 2K changed the way defenders move. Did a 3.2 GB patch. I get live is smaller generally but come on. Your behind. They didn't do much at all.

Rudy Gay has never made the allstar team....just saying.

I have played only one game so this is preliminary observation. I see some good enhancements such missing more shots in a realistic fashion including 3's. Also noted a few new animations, particularly Durant cutting towards the baseline and realistically turning on the dime with both feet set to take the 3! Looked very nice! Also like the new gameplay meter, nice touch!

On the flip side, defense has gotten worse (scratching head). I had to change defensive coaching setting to a higher level to gain any semblance of defense. What happened to better responsiveness and positioning by the defender according to the notes? I simply blew past Kyrie and spun him around like the Tazmanian devil with super ease using Westbrook. Onball normal and off ball tight.

Will post more later but mixed results thus far. Definitely not subscribing to this new Synergy roster control approach. This, I hope, will be addressed soon. Having said all that, it is very encouraging to see that a patch was released and that they are standing behind the product. Just wish they would tune into this board more. They mentioned taking suggestions from facebook, did I miss something?

Bad late game AI is still present. Down three with 10 seconds left Chris Paul drove and pulled up for two.

Anyone had a chance to test the late game AI? The patch notes mention it, but they also said the out of bounds stuff was fixed and that is simply not true.

I am glad they have at least acknowledged it though.

If anyone has a close game and the AI plays appropriately, please try and video the last min

Did anybody else notice that, on the website, they changed the patch release for the Xbox from tomorrow to "coming soon"?

I really hope it still drops tomorrow.

For all those who didnt read ...

We also received some questions from fans about how the update is affecting rosters.

Synergy tendencies have always been a part of making NBA LIVE play like the real deal, and today we’ve added some new features to make the integration even better.

Synergy feeds us roster data every day so lineups reflect the real world:

- We reflect the last game played. That’s sometimes that can be two or three nights ago.
- All players are always available in Dynasty, Rising Star and Ultimate Team
- If a particular player didn’t dress, he will not show up in the lineup when entering Play Now (Both Offline and Online)
- If a player DNP but was on the bench, he’ll be available (unless there were 12 active players who played in the game, then DNP won’t be in the lineup).

This allows us to be in lockstep with the NBA, and always reflects the actual starting lineups on a day-to-day basis.

Some of my main complaints were addressed. Thank you!

Love that the field goal percentages are no longer sky high in every game I play.

Props to EA for addressing a lot of the concerns the community had! A lot of things were smoothed out, sadly, some were not. Random tidbits:

The game has a smoother feel to it overall...from the movement to the shot releases and it makes a HUGE difference in the feel of the game, great job there. Like how good the pull up and step back game is now...

The pick and pop game is now there! I don't know what tweak was made to make this possible but it is definitely alive and well post patch.

I like the misses from 3 and inside...but unfortunately, this has made the A.I a complete non challenge. They have nothing for me now that they miss 3's and can't spam points inside. I haven't won a game vs. CPU (SS/6 min qtrs) by less than 12 in 5 tries...and that's not to brag, they just don't have a way of scoring.

If they were going to nerf these other aspects of the game they should've given a boost to the mid range game. That probably would've helped balance things out.

In the worst news, the late game A.I, (as well as the post up glitches) are still there. Tested this in my 6th game. A 2 was taken down 3 by Rose...

Thanks for the detailed impressions....that is a huge letdown re the late game AI.

As you know, it has been there for 14 and 15...and the fact they have not fixed it basicaly means they can't. Which means Live 16 and any other Live using this engine is stuck with it also. Late game AI broken = worst possible game killer in a sports game. It just does not get worse that the cpu taking a 2 down 3 as the buzzer sounds....completely ruins the experience.

Re the difficulty...I know WTF uses the Cavs and you use the Spurs...and I have wondered for a while how on earth you both could possibly be having close games etc. This game was too easy using the Knicks even as Melo is bacially unstoppable and can spin off and dunk at will. I had to switch to the T Wolves to get decent, close, games.

# 96 WTF @ 12/12/14 10:25 PM
I use the Bucks mostly.

I don't see taken a 2 point shot with 10 seconds left necessarily a horrible act of AI, if they try or try to foul on the inbound. Meaning the two was the good shot at that point in time, so they took it and to prolong the game they foul to and see if they can get a better 3 point shot on their next possession or pray for a missed free throw. Hmm maybe my basketball logic is messed up, but that sounds right to me

Those saying that at end of game 2s are taken instead of 3s how much time is left? If there are 7-10 seconds left I think taking a 2 is ok...if it's occurring with less time than that or at the buzzer that's a problem...

If that was the logic, yes....but....

That is not what happens bro...they take the 2 down three even if it is the last shot of the game.

I.e. 3 seconds left...down 3....they drive for the lay up 2.

One second left....last shot...down 3....they take a 2.

The issue is that the cpu has no idea about the score or time left.

... they just call a random play like they normally would.

And 95% of the time that random play is a 2. If they are down 3 with 4 seconds left and the cpu sees the lane open they always drive and take the 2 as the buzzer sounds.

I have had the cpu call a time out down 3 with 7 seconds left....call a post up play...post up their big, who backs down and shoots a hook shot as time expries.

Down three...and they post up a big for a last second hook shot 2.
