NBA Live 15 News Post

Another NBA Live 15 title update has arrived this morning. It includes Christmas uniforms and weighs in at 948 MB. The patch is currently available on the PlayStation 4.

We will update this post once it is available on Xbox One and/or we get any additional information on the update.

Let us know what you are seeing.

UPDATE: NBA Live 15 title update #2 will be available for Xbox One users tomorrow. Below are the details, taken from the official blog, which contains more than 400 improvements.

UPDATE #2: The blog has been updated. The patch will not arrive on Saturday, it has been changed to "Coming Soon".

Synergy will affect rosters both offline and online. If a player doesn't dress, he will not be available in online or offline Play Now. This will not affect Dynasty, Rising Star or Ultimate Team.

NEW PLAYER HEAD SCANS

Added 15 scanned player heads including:
  • Noah Vonleh
  • Shabazz Napier
  • Gary Harris
  • Elfrid Payton
  • Zach LaVine
  • Dario Saric
  • James Young
  • Nik Stauskas
  • T.J. Warren
  • Doug McDermott
CHRISTMAS DAY UNIFORMS
Added uniforms that teams will wear on Christmas Day

LIVE ULTIMATE TEAM
More than 50 bug fixes, as well as an improved interface for LUT Fantasy Challenges. Also added Quicksell Value view to Items, as well as Pack Bundles.

THREE-POINT SHOOTING
Adjustments to three-point shooting percentage and effectiveness, for both CPU and User controlled teams.

CONTESTED LAYUPS
Tuned collisions and contests when driving the lane and going up for a layup for more varied results. Expect more misses if there is heavy contact in the paint.

SIGNATURE JUMPERS AND FREE THROW ROUTINES
Added more authentic shooting animations for players around the league.

SHOT TIMING
We’ve made timing for releasing your shot more forgiving for both online and offline play. Now, the timing feels more natural and predictable.

BALL TRAJECTORY AND PHYSICS
Tuned the shot arc and rim physics for more organic shot types and results. Gone are the days where every made three-pointer is a swish.

DEFENSIVE BITE AND PUMP FAKE ANIMATIONS
Players will recover much quicker and have better overall positioning while defending dribble moves and fakes.

INBOUND PLAYS
Tuned the AI during inbound plays to be more responsive and initiate more movement.

SHOT FEEDBACK METER
Enhanced the feedback system to include your player’s rating for that particular shot type and whether you were open or not.

INVISIBLE BOUNDARIES
Cleaned up some of the invisible boundary issues when moving along the baseline with the ball.

STEAL ATTEMPTS
Tuned stealing to address spamming issues with results in more fouls being called.

END OF GAME AI
Address late game AI issues where players would not react or respond naturally – often causing them to dribble the ball out or not attempt a shot with the clock winding down.

INTENTIONAL FOUL
Adjusted the intentional foul animation to address player warping issues.

Yeah, the 1.04 I'm seeing some very smooth stuff I didn't see last night. I saw a new cutting animation that was perfect coming from the weekside.

# 262 WTF @ 12/20/14 12:33 PM
Oh, and the lighting I see is in replay mode. Not actual in game

Was there a new update for PS4? Details? I saw on my notifications tab that a new 981 MB update was being downloaded. Don't have time to try it out.

Better post defense on All star so far. Alot more fluid motion and new animations observed as well!

Got this update on the xbox one this afternoon.

User defense is better.

A few things remain wrong, these are things I check each update.

Nba rewind still doesnt work for all games. The jump in feature. Its works on a few games but it should work on ALL of the games.

Tip off still goes right to the pg every time.

When a qtr starts and you are on D your PG is still turned the wrong direction, he then rotates in place to face forward when the ball is inbounded by the cpu.

Overall though the game is much better. Shooting release makes sense now and my cpu team mates seemed more aware on both ends of the floor.

In the two games I played there were a few more blocks for me and the cpu than I would like to see. van gundy even commented on it in the 2nd game saying something along the lines of "these teams would be glad to get this amount of blocks all season but to get them in one game, who would have thunk it?"

Mine not updating

Game is playing pretty good, just wish I could get more of a challenge....the best teams in the league will compete but I'll still win by a 9-10 margin. I think if the strengthen the mid range game a bit and reduce the penalty for lower contested shots the CPU would have a bit more to work with....as of now if I'm locked in I'm not losing to the CPU on Superstar...

# 268 Calvenn @ 12/20/14 05:45 PM
The lack of mid range and long range to a certain degree really handicaps the cpu on Superstar! I've been saying this since the 2nd patch was released. It would help the cpu tremendously imo if they loosened these areas up for cpu. Have you tried All Star? Cpu makes more mid and long range shots and not cheesy either. Post D has also improved in All Star after todays patch! Got tired of winning all games on Superstar simply because of these cpu deficiencies! It became too easy to defennd against them. All Star is less predictable in that sense! Untiil they can address this in another patch try it out!

By the way the cpu steps it up a notch in Dynasty! Also, since Post D has been improved I will also explore the coaching Strategies for Defense again on Superstar level. That's the main area of the game that broke down as I made these adjustments. Crossing fingers that it remains intact because the mid/long range balance was good and quite challenging with those setting.

I am LOVING both the recent patches on the PS4 version thus far. This latest one seems to have added some different animations, more realistic shot selection/FG% (for both user AND CPU), a few more added signature shots/actions for certain stars/superstars, and the overall smoothness of the game is unreal. I literally have had NO hiccups or weird animations after the first 3 hours of playing after the latest patch installed.

This game was fun BEFORE all of the updates, but is now a legit contender next to the "other one" that was released a little bit before it earlier this year. IF another "big" patch/update is in the works and continues to improve upon an already stellar title, I may never touch any other b-ball game BUT Live again (unless they somehow manage to take two steps back somehow in the near future).

Keep up the phenomenal work over there at EA on the "Live" front, fellas. I've already convinced three of my buddies to pick up this game for the holidays after these latest updates. 👌👍

I concur with your assessment and have also made the same observation after this recent patch update. Shot selection has definately improved and it is quite amazing to witness!

We all want different things to be addressed in this game and so far they are listening and making improvements ccontinually and truly changing the face of this game. Let's all pause for a second and really give credit where it is deserved but hope they continue down this excellent path for future updates.

Lag is quietly sneaking its way back into all my online games do far.

It still needs a lot of work, but online gameplay is better. Cheesers (which is almost 90% of everyone I played against lol) are gonna have a harder time trying to run over everyone and chucking up contested 3s without consequences.

That is one benefit of these new patches that hasn't been talked about. Great point!

I won't be playing my copy until after xmas but has team/player differentiation improved? It's one of my biggest issues.

Uh, some teams that have good PF/C feed them in the paint other than that not much tbh.

Sadly no. When they take this next step it will be a huge step forward for the series.

On a good note, kudos to the Live team. I've played multiple games now and the transitional animations are legit improved. Adds a LOT to the game. I would've never thought things like this and the pick and pop could be improved mid season.

Also, can you not select the person you want to pick and roll with? This was never an issue since the curser is naturally over the PF/C most of the time, but I was trying to pick and pop with Ryan Anderson at the 3 spot and it was near impossible, lol

Highlight the player like you would if you were passing to him, then press the the LT for the pick.

You can also initiate a play with anyone, love this feature. Even a center or PF can start the play.

I haven't seen the changes most of your are talking about. What I've noticed is:

-Human 3PFG% was lowered drastically.
-CPU 3PFG% was increased. Kyrie hit three 25 footers on me. The fact that he was even taking shots from that far out is a problem.
-CPU PGs are more dominant in an unrealistic way. Corey Joseph of the Spurs led them in scoring.
-CPU Offensive rebounding is still too high.

I haven't noticed any new animations or anything like that.
Patch notes would greatly help.

To me the game has gotten worse. The previous patch opened the game up a lot. This latest one was a regression IMHO.

You mean like facing them so that the white circle is under them? I got that, but it's hard to do when they're at an angle like the 1-3's usually are...was wondering if there was a manual way...

I'll have to play with it a little more

The interior game seems to have more " beef" to it, seeing more contact animations, fouls, and charges inside, and what appears to be better rebounding battles, and I am seeing more mid range shots. I think it's shaping up to be a good/great purchase choice for the holidays. (Xbox one)

# 280 cherone21 @ 12/21/14 10:26 AM
The game needs three things:
1. More of a midrange game by cpu. Kurt Heinrich isolated and tried to drive the ball to the basket on most plays during the game I was playing against the bulls.
2. CPU needs to play through Stars
3. Better plays. Need more plays that have players cutting to the whole using screens. Plays also need to be less sluggish as they develop.
