God damn this looks amaaaazing. Ever since i heard of the move to 2k by CZar this is the stuff I've been waiting for! Great to finally see some concrete things put in place already this year! Keep up the sim work man
Czar as a spurs fan I loved that vid but I have one question. Will every team be able to do this? Just asking cause I would hate to see the thunder have good off ball movement after a play breaks down. Wouldn't be realistic.
So don't expect to see Any spacing improvements or any freelance actions by the off ball A.I if the game is played by casuals ? That's what you guys are telling me? That those improvements are only limited to sim style ?
I feel like if that area is improved , which I know it is don't get me wrong , we should see a change whether you , me , Ronnie , or anybody plays the game especially if it's a full game vs a 4 minute bootleg video.
Not basing a decision already got it pre-ordered just want to see it in action more.
I think he was saying that it's not going to be noticeable if you're not playing a realistic style. If you're running around with your head cut off and charging the paint every time your team gets the ball, I wouldn't expect to see the spacing and AI do anything we saw from Czar's video.
He even mentioned at one point in the video that if you just want to play iso all game, don't expect to see a lot outside of your teammates trying to stay out of the way.
That could be a problem. An issue i had playing on line was the usser spamming double teams. If i was trying to run a set the ai would react to the "bad defense" poorly. This year if they are hard wired to stay out of your way what about double teams and zones? Does free lance behave differently vs. A zone? Will they be able to see the double teams? And react properly. I dont want rodo to pass to the wing have his man double so he spots up for 3. Ik you can manualy tell the player to cut, but its quit difficult while being doubled would be nice if theres ai logic thelling them to react to doubles and zones bassed on thier strengths and weaknesses.

I understand that . I'm referring to Ronnie and LD2k .I know they aren't hardcore sim but they won't turbo NBA jam every play will they ?

I think he was only saying that when using the swing motion offense.
I'm noticing switches in defense that are not necessary and not when they are needed - Dirk going throug screens in min 6:05 -... this is because defensive settings or it is going to happen a lot by default? I'm kind of worried. For example, in the last minuts with the Mavs defending, there is a lot of what I'm saying - Dirk leaving Duncan and going to Green (min 6:24), or Crowder going with Ginobili (min 6:55).
What I really mean is, are be going to be able to config the def settings in order to make the defense in this matter work as we want?
I like it overall over 14. The depth of the game makes it hard to determine from just watching videos this year.
What I mean by that is we have stuff like IQ ratings that have an effect. POE which has an effect, Individual defensive settings which also have an effect. So to know how effective the help is you need to know what settings that user has on defense in all those area's and to a smaller extent who is on the floor.
I guess I will have to change my defensive rotations if harden is guarding a shooter.

I think that that is an actual settings thing. It looks like it might be switch all off ball screens because that is what they were doing. When I watch the OKC vs. Spurs when Czar ran the pick and fade play there was no switching. It think it is a screen defense setting

Teams have default freelance offensive sets that they go into when they aren't actively running a play: 3-out-2-in (Memphis, Detroit); 4-out-1-in (Miami, OKC), and Swing Motion (Spurs).
Not sure if there are any others ... those are the 3 I've seen.
bet they will play on allstar level. Its like they are allergic to HOF/SIM settings
Just remember, if they play on anything below SS/SIM, the rate of 3's hitting will be unrealistically high (see my sig.)
My bet, based on the fact that Da_Czar said they balanced everything on the SS level is that they will play on SS - whether they play SIM or not I have no clue.

No. El has it right. Ronnie and LD certainly aren't Japanese women on the sticks, but I'm certain they will do things outside of the flow of the desired offenses they would be running. I'm saying you won't see this stuff any better unless a guy like Czar, OG, or Jones is running it. That's all.
