NBA 2K15 MyLEAGUE Interview

We recently had a chance to interview Rob Jones, Sr. Producer Visual Concepts and Erick Boenisch, Sr. Producer, Visual Concepts to talk about a new mode for NBA 2K15 called MyLEAGUE, exclusive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Before we get into the interview, here is a quick rundown on some of the options. In a nutshell, it’s the Association Mode that we all know and loved on old-gen consoles, on steroids.

MyLEAGUE offers both a single season or up to an 80 year franchise experience. You will have complete control over every aspect of how your league plays out.

OMG. Where has this been?! Just when I start to lose hope in these guys (I hated 2K14). They do some stuff like this.
I'm sure we'll still see canned animations and some stupid AI, the CPU you're playing against, and your own teammates. But all of these improvements to Association make that a moot point for me (well... as long as they've improved the AI a little bit at least).

WIll you be able to pass this file between friends/console, kinda to create a multi user association between friends?

I understand that but I just love making realistic trades that could happen in a season or offseason. No more 4 PG's on the Mavs and The Lakers not resigning Kobe.

I also hope we can edit all the accessories including headbands. I can see LeBron opting out next year and the headband is suddenly gone lol

I really hope that the old face customization is back so we don't see ayers with the same face on every team once you simulate a couple seasons.

When a player gets hurt, you’ll often (not always) see him nurse that body part back to health with the aid of an accessory. Sleeves on elbows, pads on knees.

I had that on a wishlist like 2 or 3 years ago too! Wooo!

Maybe I didn't see it but, what about trading future draft picks (more than 1 year from now), protected picks, etc?

I still want to see gameplay improvements, but this sounds amazing. I just really want that in-season player editing. Hopefully it's in when they say "custom rosters". There's some amazing roster makers here but I've never played with a 100% perfect roster that didn't need tweaking along the way. JMO.

oh and THANK YOU LD/Simballer, Leftos, and the rest of 2K! This is mind blowing.

I like the new injury system, as it reminds me of what was in NFL Head Coach 09 (a very overlooked game).

It is weird, though, that a basketball game is the first sport this generation to have a wear-and-tear injury system that can affect a player's ratings in the long-term, while we are still stuck with antiquated injury systems in collision-heavy sports games like Madden NFL and EA NHL.

Hopefully this inspires the collision sports games to get their injury systems up to par next year.

@jyoung, but if those injuries dont effect animations and what not in game, it really would be a let down for me.

If a guy is playing on a hurt ankle or knee i want to see him limp/drag his leg a bit

I would love to find out if 3 team trades are back. If so this will be loads of fun especially with what is going on in the league right now.

Can you say KD to the Wizards and Russ to the Lakers (if those knees hold up, I can't believe I can actually say that!!!!!)
