NBA 2K15 News Post

We recently had a chance to interview Rob Jones, Sr. Producer Visual Concepts and Erick Boenisch, Sr. Producer, Visual Concepts to talk about a new mode for NBA 2K15 called MyLEAGUE, exclusive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Before we get into the interview, here is a quick rundown on some of the options. In a nutshell, it’s the Association Mode that we all know and loved on old-gen consoles, on steroids.

MyLEAGUE offers both a single season or up to an 80 year franchise experience. You will have complete control over every aspect of how your league plays out.

Glad there are sliders for all these options too. Curious if draft class players can have pre-existing conditions (ex. Embid, Greg Oden, Nerlons Noel, etc.)
would be nice if you can draft > 10th pick and get a good player but has injury history

Hopefully the next announcement is that they totally redone controller latency, CPU defensive rotations, substitution logic, coach/defensive settings, USE UP ON THE DPAD FOR CHANGING DEFENSIVE SETTINGS INSTEAD OF SHOWING THE SIG SKILLS, player tendency and player to player animations so that the game plays like a sim

This mode is nice though. Might actually play association mode for once

Very good question. To add on to it what about signing of guys with pre existing injuries? Will it effect guys at that positions morale that you sign Greg Oden or Andrew Bynum?

Extremely happy with this news! Even just the return of normal association mode would have been good, but the the amount of customization looks unbelievable! Can't wait for this to drop!

If gameplay and CPU (perfect/psychic) AI have made similar "huge" strides, this could be special!

Sounds like a pretty cool mode definitely be able to do some cool things. I look forward to hearing more about what they do with the online.

I only play offline, so this is great news. Hopefully there it supports 2 players on a console this year. My former roomie and I were really disappointed we couldn't play MyGM games together last year.

Can we adjust players playing time? If so, is it similar to the way 360/PS3 does it? Also do the changes control the playing time during simmed games as well as played games?

Yes, rotations are fully editable right off the bat. New to NBA 2K15 is our ‘Gameplan’ feature. Gameplans allow you to set highly customized strategies per opponent. For each team you face, you can set a customized rotation to take advantage of deficiencies in your opponent. You can set preferred defensive matchups, adjust coaching sliders specifically for that team, custom Points of Emphasis, and so on. If this all sounds like too much, you can just set a global Gameplan that you want applied to all opponents or even select teams. These Gameplans are in full effect regardless of whether it is a played game or a simulated game. You will have far more control over the outcome of a game than ever before, and we don’t want it any other way.

I didn't even catch this at first. My goodness this sounds sexy

@tmac, my concern there is points of emphasis are making a return.

nothing about if we can set how we defend each offensive player was mentioned, and i am worried

All that was missing at the end of all that incredible info was the Killer Instinct guy yelling "ULTRAAAAAAA COMBOOOOO!"

Are the PC guys getting news on which version we're getting?

Man, this sounds like a great addition. Looks like it's time to get a PS4.

The animations and (possibly control) did look similar to last yr no doubt. Gotta give them more than 7 seconds to judge though.

Yeah, you'll be able to set-up your settings for all your opponents off the bat and keep customizing and tuning over the year so when you finally play against that opponent, your gameplan will be ready for you. So if I play the Knicks twice in 3 games with a game against the Bulls in-between and I want to play them with a completely different set-up, I can setup my Knicks gameplan, use the global gameplan on the Bulls (or setup a different gameplan for them), and then on the next Knicks matchup all my "vs. Knicks" settings will still be there ready to use.

Two things I would have loved to have seen in the mode would be protected picks and the return of the D-League, but even if those two things are indeed missing we still have so much more to work with. Gonna spend hours on this.
