NBA 2K15 News Post

We recently had a chance to interview Rob Jones, Sr. Producer Visual Concepts and Erick Boenisch, Sr. Producer, Visual Concepts to talk about a new mode for NBA 2K15 called MyLEAGUE, exclusive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Before we get into the interview, here is a quick rundown on some of the options. In a nutshell, it’s the Association Mode that we all know and loved on old-gen consoles, on steroids.

MyLEAGUE offers both a single season or up to an 80 year franchise experience. You will have complete control over every aspect of how your league plays out.

Thank you, 2K!!! The level of customization in this will keep me very satisfied, as I am mostly an Association mode player. I can't wait to get my hands on this!

Fits the naming scheme better (MyCareer, MyGM, MyTeam, etc)

So happy to hear this news. I've always come back to the PC version of 2k over the last few years because I could have so much control over my association with the different patches and tools that were out there. This year might be the year I leave it behind as I'm assuming it'll still be a current gen port.

WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING AN XBOX LIVE SUBSCRIPTION IF COMPANIES LIKE 2K SPORTS ARE JUST GOING TO ***** FOOT AROUND AND NOT TAILOR ALL OF THEIR GAMEPLAY TO BOTH ONLINE AND OFFLINE MODES? PEOPLE LIKE ONLINE MULTIPLAYER, MAKE MYLEAGUES ONLINE MULTIPLAYER. WILL ONLINE LEAGUES MODE HAVE THE SAME CONTROLLING ABILITY AS MYLEAGUES MODE? AND WILL IT ALSO ALLOW YOU TO GO UP TO 80YEARS? IF NOT THEN DON'T WASTE MY TIME WITH YOUR BULL****!!!!!!!!!!

It's not all about you, dude. A lot of us here like offline. I like it because I can customize my own experience (I really can now with all of these new features). I don't know why you're getting angry, it's the first big announcement. Just wait until they do address online stuff. I assure I won't come and yell about how stupid online is and how offline is king. Just let it go, dude. Let. It. Go. I hope you have that song stuck in your head now.

Wow I'm salivating over all of this information. This seriously has so much stuff that I have been wishing for for years. May actually give the offline a try for once.

I'm still more interested in online leagues/associations. Can't wait to see what information is released on how those will be addressed and what changes will be made.

I see you 2K. I've been pretty critical this past year and I gotta give it to the 2K team, they're doing it right so far. It's funny how taking a step back can make so many people happy.

I love the sound of the new injury system, create a player being back is awesome, 30 team control and CPU-CPU trade approval are huge features to me personally. I'm going to be spending a lot of time in MyLEAGUE. All of this and we haven't seen anything from MyTeam, Crew, or MyCareer yet?! We could be in for a treat this year as long as the gameplay is as good as it usually is. I don't want to sip on the kool-aid just yet, but I'm damn close.

I'm crying... Thank you 2k !

"season length set to 14/29/58/82 games per season"

I also offer my heartfelt thanks to the 2K development team. I honestly did not think they had it in them to listen to their customers, but this is just want we wanted. Pre-ordering now is a no-brainer.

Thanks again guys and looking forward to another year of basketball

cheers!

D League and Euroleague would have been the cherry on top of this incredible mode. Im glad they didn't just take it out and bring it back same way and brand it as a new mode. I'm glad it's greatly improved.

# 233 The 24th Letter @ 08/07/14 07:39 PM
So I am assuming with create a player mode and an offline mode...we're back on HDD saves?

# 234 Factzzz @ 08/07/14 07:39 PM
I don't even play association mode or franchise mode in any game. I strictly play modes like MyCareer or RTTS, or online ranked.

But this news is exciting nonetheless, it really shows that 2k has been listening to the fans and want to give the fans what they want.

I hope some of these things being talked about carry over into MyCareer (ie. the injury things, a new create player) and I also hope that the 2k team listened to the fans about some of things regarding MyCareer. Can't wait to get more news.

Yeah, they mentioned local saves in Robs interview. Thankfully.

I was another one who ripped 2K all year long. Last year was a mess but this is game changing news. After that head shaking announcement over last gen this was one heck of bomb they dropped.

Finally CPU-CPU trade override

Trade sliders.

Local saves.

Full editing options.

I hear the guys who want this as an online mode...and who wouldn't but getting all these issues addressed is a huge leap in the right direction. If they can work out the kinks and make sure there aren't any game breaking bugs or glitches I'm sure an online version of this is to come.

One step at a time and this was a huge leap.

I'm so happy. That's all I got to say about that.

Simulated Stats....Anyone who is really down with the Association knows that the simulated stats are always haywire and that you have to spend hours controlling all 30 teams and tweaking rosters to just kinda make it look realistic but it all falls apart after 3-5 seasons.

My question is that of rotation minutes. I know in the interview the question was asked if the rotation min would stay put during simulation but that question was not clearly answered.

I am really, really curious about the simulated stats and if we can get them close to be right this year.

No online, no buy. My friends and I would have been ecstatic for this if it was online.

Now...

Can't even front I have said a few times and even a couple days ago talking to a friend about 2k that unless they at least tune down VC and make some gameplay tweaks that if I got this game it would be later and used.

With this news they have my attention back....no VC and being able to save to my XBOX are 2 things that can allow me to seriously think about getting this again this year. Used to really enjoy the Association but then slowly switched to MyPlayer cause the Assc. Mode got kinda boring and I didn't enjoy it anymore.

Myplayer got VC heavy and was loosing interest in that mode, now at least I can have a mode I enjoyed and not worry about VC. I'll see what the upcoming info brings over the next couple months as to whether I buy day one or wait a little while cause i'm sure my thoughts will change from time to time.

All in all great job so far 2k, let the tug of war begin.
