NBA 2K15 News Post

We recently had a chance to interview Rob Jones, Sr. Producer Visual Concepts and Erick Boenisch, Sr. Producer, Visual Concepts to talk about a new mode for NBA 2K15 called MyLEAGUE, exclusive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Before we get into the interview, here is a quick rundown on some of the options. In a nutshell, it’s the Association Mode that we all know and loved on old-gen consoles, on steroids.

MyLEAGUE offers both a single season or up to an 80 year franchise experience. You will have complete control over every aspect of how your league plays out.

Juwan Howard. He retired and became a Player Development coach, IIRC.

No wonder Beasley and Oden never got playing time

Anthony Parker is/was a scout for the Orlando Magic. Actually a lot of former players are advanced scouts for teams.

Fair enough guys, thanks. I'll keep that in mind!

Thanks Leftos.

I haven't looked through the whole thread, but it would be nice to see your team stats from seasons gone by. Say you were ten seasons in, you could look back at your team roster and stats from 10 years ago

Don't forget BJ Armstrong who became assistant GM to Jerry Krause, Scottie Pippen who is currently special assistant to team President and COO Michael Reinsdorf and John Paxson who is a GM himself. Would be cool to see players around the league retire and be GMs around the league competing against you.

Can we edit the NBA Rules again ? So we can choose what rule is on and what is off? missed that in last years version where they took the entire options out on PS4 so I hope that is back in too. Didn't see it mentioned in the list.

That's a good point. Last year on PS3, I had to turn off Kick Ball and Backcourt Violation because they kept happening so much.

I like this idea. I sometimes get deep in association and forget the team I had a few years ago and how I did.

It's probably included in the phrase "fully customizable"

I apologize if this has already been asked, I'm guessing it has. Can anyone confirm if there is local (couch) co-op for the PS4 version of 2k15? I am specifically looking for offline Association, or MyLeague as it now appears to be called. I bought 2k14 for PS3, because the PS4 version seemed to lack it last year.

My preferred game mode was playing Association at my house with my friends. I am hoping it is reinstated this year.

These additions seem pretty awesome but can anyone confirm whether cpu vs. cpu will be possible on the ps4 version? This is basically the deciding factor on whether to buy or not. I wasted 60 bucks on 2k14 when I assumed that would be in the ps4 version since it was in the xbox 360. Don't want to make that mistake again...

Yes, we've already confirmed that side selection is completely open in MyLEAGUE.

That's what I needed to hear! Very cool! Will be pre-ordering today after work then!

Are we going to be able to export the rosters this year? I think that'd be cool to have back.

Hey Leftos I have a question if you don't mind. I read you guys did some work on generated draft classes as far as potential goes. I was wondering has shooting tendencies and sig skills (now badges) been worked on?

I'm asking this because generated classes always have to be edited to be realistic. For example in nba 2k13 and 14 a lot of generated point guards would have 99 shooting tendencies. Sig skills never really matched up with the player. I would get a slow center with a super low steal rating but his sig skill would be pick pocket. A bad three point shooter would have dead eye.

I was just wondering if draft classes would be good enough to not have to edit. Also one question about the sim intervention. Would you be able to start a game and sim to the 4th quarter than hop in or you have to start with sim intervention?

Thanks

We've done work to improve our generated players all around for 2K15 and we're happy with what we have, but of course we'll be looking for feedback.

As to the second question, I don't quite understand. There's no jumping out from gameplay to the simulator, only jumping in. So if you start a game in SimCast you can pause at any point and jump into it.

That's good to hear since some of the generated rookies did not look that great.
