NBA 2K15 MyLEAGUE Interview

We recently had a chance to interview Rob Jones, Sr. Producer Visual Concepts and Erick Boenisch, Sr. Producer, Visual Concepts to talk about a new mode for NBA 2K15 called MyLEAGUE, exclusive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Before we get into the interview, here is a quick rundown on some of the options. In a nutshell, it’s the Association Mode that we all know and loved on old-gen consoles, on steroids.

MyLEAGUE offers both a single season or up to an 80 year franchise experience. You will have complete control over every aspect of how your league plays out.

It's not about that there "is" an Association mode. It's what the Association mode entails.

From my quick skim of the interview, it looks like an NBA version of MLB The Show's franchise mode.

But you can spin it all you want. I know some of you guys will only be happy with a Crew mode and that's it.

So we still have no "new" game modes. We just have association mode returning.

I really don't play this mode but for the guys that do, I'm happy for you. It sounds real nice.

It would be sad if we literally got the same thing from the 2k13/12/11,etc.

Reading the interview, it sounds like they've tweaked a lot.

Looks like MyGM still exists, but thankfully these two modes are seperated.

Seriously, this sounds like the mode that I've always wanted. It's like my personal wishlist made it into the game.

The only things that I would like to see, although I may have missed them because that was a lot to take in, is a) the ability to give players injuries manually (example: Paul George) and the ability to intervene in games.
Add those two things and I may not purchase another game until NBA 2K16.

I'm so pumped!

The Show does not have even 10% of the options described in the interview.

I am absolutely in heaven right now. I have been begging for YEARS for developers to just give us full control of how we want to play. And 2K has done it. You can customize almost every single aspect of your league.

Incredible work, guys. I am beyond excited to dig into it!

Okay, this is good. Association was always the most replayable mode for me. The removal from 2K14 was outrageous.

This is simply a SimHeads dream come true. My faith in 2k has been restored. They gave us settings to combat the logic and everything. With no VC involved.

I could cry right now. This is the best news I've heard from 2k in a long, long time.
