Ok can someone help me

Yesterday I went up against a guy twice who would spam the Clinch whip then knees to the head

Once they whip you, you can't block the first strike sometimes the second or third for some reason. Even when I would try to counter it like a transition or try to escape it was like the whip broke my attempts

The first fight he just beat the crap out of me. The second I lasted 2 rounds and had him hurt most of the fight because that's the only thing he would do. I would just keep him at a distance the best I could but he got me in the clinch a few times and the only way to escape seemed like pure luck. Needless to say he beat me again

Is there a way to stop them from getting you in the clinch or a easier way to break it? Maybe he was just good at it I'm not sure

R2 + RS-UP only way to prevent clinch grab.

As far as the whip, I'm not sure. I've yet to have it done to me. I've done it only twice, what is the button combo to do it? All I know it has something to do with the left stick.

Thanks

According this it looks simple. It also says to break the clinch Hold LB plus back but it never seem to do anything for me. Take it I am bad in the clinch so maybe I'm doing it wrong

The guy did it to me without much effort at all it seemed. He would whip me 5 times or more sometimes before I broke free

PS. I know you're Ps4 but still should be similar

Breaking the clinch is done by pressing L3 (clicking in the left stick).

It's the same as standing up from the ground.

Just saw a scorecard that ended up 29-26. I didn't think the 1st round was worthy of a 10-8, so I'm wondering if my round 2 finished as a 10-7.

Changed some of the records. Ben Henderson now has his new record.

I'm not convinced that a significant strike is a modified punch. Last night I purposefully unloaded the mod punch and after the fight it said I threw 1 significant strike.

I'm wondering if it's a certain timing with the punch.

Me and a buddy had a conversation about blocking. Just the normal RT button and how it seems almost impossible to get a punch past it. Even though in the tutorial it says doing it for long periods it becomes less effect, but seems that is not the case

We first noticed when I was teaching my buddy how to play. I told him blocking was a very big key, so naturally he would just hold the block button. Anyway we set a fight where all he did was block all fight while I punched

Needless to say the stats showed I only landed about 10 shots per 120 thrown. Some where around that number anyway I'll have to do another test when I have the game in front of me

Has anyone else noticed this? Or is that how it's supposed to be

You still have people justifiably pissed if they aren't getting a win when someone quits. For me it killed my entire interest in Championships. It should be a submission win, since they quit.

It's not like you can defraud the leaderboards by facing your friends or dummy accounts. Championships is a completely random opponent.

The issue is that stamina won't recover and you can keep the pressure on for a easy KO. This is a tactic I use online pretty often. Most guys will throw bunch of kicks or highlight moves and drain their stamina. I dash out the way and let me stamina stay full, then start pouring on the light fast strikes like jabs and straights. They can block all they want holding the trigger. I'm scoring damage and their stamina won't recover. You can now keep this relentless pace on them allowing your stamina to recharge at key moments and they will continue to stay in the sub 25% stamina if you put the pressure properly.

All you can KO or knock someone out while blocking. I've done it several times, here is a quick clip of GMSS rocking me and I was holding RT.

Skip to 1:56 in this video to see it(at 1:58 it happens).

Really enjoying this game so far. I'm working through career mode and I'm about 10 fights in. The only thing I would want to see added is the addition of Fight Nights to Career mode. Not everyone starts out on the undercard of a PPV. I would want to start on maybe a UFC Fight Pass show (not reaching as many fans) and working my way up.

too bad fight pass was not put into affect until after the game was already being developed. I like your way of thinking though. Getting into the undercard of a PPV is a big thing upon itself

Sorry if this was already brought up, but what I hate more than TD spamming sub spamming is body shot spamming. It seems to happen alot in HW but i ran into 5-6 straight fights where the guy threw only modified body shots, was gassed out but kept throwing. I could only block for so long then I would get gassed too. Ive been better at dodging strikes and keeping distance, but there's no way that should even be possible.

My biggest pet peeve at the moment is sometimes when you just want to throw 1 punch or kick, 3 of them come out in a row even though you only pressed the button once.

First I've heard of this complaint and I haven't experienced it myself. Are others finding this to be a problem as well?

yes i am as well. its as if the game is letting you input combos and plays out no matter what sometimes. The only reason i pressed a string of buttons was because they were not registering to begin with. this seems to be tied to the low frame rate. Apparently the game actually runs at 900p so why did we get stuck with 30 frames. This game would have performed a lot better at 60 frames and no one that knows the difference will argue this.

OK that is intentional and it's exactly for the reason you noted, so you can queue up combos. You can even queue up things like jab-lunge left-upper cut. I know some high level players who use this as a strategy because they've reported a but where sways don't queue properly.

However, I can see how you could do it by accident if you weren't aware that it happened.

A bit more detail here...every action in the game has a different tuning parameter for how long it will live in the queue before it gets removed and forgotten.

So it's not that you can queue up 50 moves all at once and watch them play out, but there is a window where inputs will remain queued to allow for combos of actions to be input.
