No. But I thought all of the THQ games were unplayable. I also only play multiplayer so the lack of modes isn't an issue for me.

I can't stand being the same guy over and over but that's just me I guess
You see more ov a variety in quick match unranked.

Edit:

I'm not saying that I think that takedowns should win fights, I'm just saying that I agree it's pretty realistic considering some real life fight decisions we've seen.
But should we use the excuse of "its like that in real life" for anything in this game? Yes, judging is often terrible in real life, but this game doesn't have much in common with real UFC fights. Its just about as far towards the arcade side of the scale as you can get.

I'd rather the game takes into account what you do with a certain situation. If I take you down, then you immediately get back up without me even landing a blow or transitioning to a better position why should that takedown matter? It meant nothing.

so what seems to be the consensus on Accelerated Clock On/Off? Been playing with it off, only seen 2-3 fights go the distance, may have to switch it back to On.

And with my PS+ trial expiring, definitely going to have to subscribe once I get the next paycheck in. Starting to handle the computer on "Pro" in exhibition.

I play with the accelerated clock off for 3 rd fights and on for 5 rd fights.

Unfortunately in real life takedowns without much else still score. Just drill your takedown defense. Ive got mine close to 70% now. Most get discouraged when you show them early ut ain't happening. I usually shoot on a guy early just to see if he has any defense...

Finally made it to black belt and then I get submitted in my first match. Lol damn shame I was trying to get up too cuz I saw my stamina was low. Oh well.

I'm really good at takedown defense and sub offense. Just alright at striking and ground game....

Just made it to black belt with a 28-7 record. Got the division title in all divisions (except black obviously).

Got the game on Friday. Just learned how to do submissions after about 12 matches. Turned out that those challenges really help.

I had not played UFC 3 for a long time when I got this edition, so it it taking me a while to get used to everything. I used to be really good but now I'm stuck at the nooby difficulties. Hopefully I will get better as I play more.

It's really the transition defense I need to work on. I can never seem to hold full mount for a long enough period of time to deal much damage, even when they are almost TKO'd. I get flipped over or the opponent gets up. Also, too many times I get stuck in a Muay Thai clinch and can't get out without spamming L3 and when the knees come, I just seem to panic.

I really wish they brought back that indepth practice mode that was in UFC 3. That would have made sense since they completely changed the controls.

Question for everyone who's finished career mode once: Were you able to max out all of your stats with the tons of points they give out when you win fights? I've been getting a lot and I'm curious. Not even sure the "payout is different" across difficulties.

As for me: I'm 6-1 on Normal, fighting on the undercard. Lost my one fight cause I got too cocky with my standup and got caught in the body. Now winning and getting a ton of points, hence the question above!

# 355 Trevelyan @ 06/22/14 05:26 AM
I think I had my guy maxed out on all stats around 25 fights.

Well I fell off a cliff and might even drop to blue at this rate. I'm a brown belt was doing welterweight and got matched up against the number 3 guy on ps4 and all he did was avoid my strikes and was basically unhittable. That was the most annoying fight I've had so far. I would have rather been knocked out in 30 seconds then deal with his bs.

I really wish unranked kept a fight record like ranked so I could see how well I did on there overall. Unranked seems to be more fun overall and you get to try guys you normally wouldn't.

Did anyone every find out what a significant strike was? I never get very many even when I win a easy fight

While my opponent will seem to have a bunch

Power punches. Strikes that use the modifiers.

I was thinking it was those. Although I don't use them that often, guess I need to start
