I thought so too and then I increased my modified strikes and it didn't seem to reflect. But guys online use them a lot.

(This is the part where I ramble about stamina and how a significant strike shouldn't be so easy to release).

How do ppl guard themselves with a red flashing head like nothing happens??? They are just holding auto block and survive every attack.

When i get a red flashing head my hands drop everytime and i get a knockout shot

At first I thought it was after I countered and landed a big hit but that for sure is not it

You need to mix up your attacks. If they are blocking the head, attack the body or throw more diverse strikes at the head. Or take them down and attack the head from there.

I noticed you can't knee the body from back side control. That blows because quite often I would get a guy on all 4's and I will spin to their side and want to blast them with knees to their side but can't. All you are allowed to throw are punches......

Also noticed in regular side control you get stood up pretty quick if all you are doing are throwing knees and elbows to the body. Shouldn't be like that all....

Next game they need to make some serious changes:

1. More cage interaction, wall walk, sit up along the cage, severely limit the type of submission moves you can do off your back stuff up against the cage.

2. Sprawl animation

3. Knees to the body from back side control

4. Being able to work the body on the ground without getting automatically stood up.

5. Change the single leg animation.

6. Add more takedowns in general.

7. Limit the type of takedowns different fighters can pull off. Some fighters in real life are good at single leg, some are only good at double leg, etc.

8. Leg kick TKO

9. Dedicated run button

10. Standing submissions

11. Full mount reversal and side control reversal should be eliminated completely or limited to once per a round. I say eliminate it though. Just seems unrealistic to me to see a weaker guy flip a much bigger guy off of him.

12. Fix the permanent damage and stamina issue. Modified strikes should cost way more energy then regular strikes.

13. Instant replay system with full camera control for we can take better pictures.

14. The ability to throw standing elbows. Not spinning elbows, but forward elbows like Faber and Jon Jones do sometimes in their fights.

So only 14 things to fix?

Really can't stand the ground game anymore. It's a transition/sweep fest because you have to try and guess which direction to block on the ground. Which is impossible in certain positions (like transitions from half guard). Also sometimes the camera swivels around and gets stuck in certain places so you can't see things like the fighter on the bottom or how a guy is trying to transition.

I love the game so far, sure theres a few things that are corny like the handful of takedown animations but the stand up is spot on and the graphics are as next gen as any game out there.

# 369 Swamp Swagger @ 06/22/14 10:02 PM
The transition spam gets old quick. Unless you block and even then they can do another while your are lucky to land a single punch

I think if you block one then there should be a longer period before they can try another. If not that at least make it when there energy is low while yours is high then there transition should fail regardless if you block it(not always just depending on stats and energy will determine how often a unblocked one fails)

Ya theres no penalty to spamming transitions or takedown attempts. Guys can literally shoot nonstop with nothing to lose. Just get pushed away. Mindblowing they didn't put the intercept knee in. Stops that real quick. I had a guy using Belfort attempt 90 takedowns. No real penalty or stamina loss for doing so.
Im a bit shocked so many things were overlooked considering the time they had. Reversals should be THQ style. Flick rs. With a cool down period in between.

I don't have the game but what is the best difficulty level to play against the AI? The reason I ask is I am mainly an offline player with sports games. Thanks.

I've been experimenting with things to counter TD attempts. The front kick to the body usually does it. Or if you can dash back and they miss completely, you can get a free strike as your opponent is getting up. Uppercuts are useless. Flying knees land like 25% of the time, but if it doesn't connect you still avoid the TD by just jumping completely over the guy. I'm sitting at like 90% takedown defense online now, but it's not about preventing them. It's more about trying to find ways to punish the TD's even though there isn't really a way built into the game from what I've seen so far. I'm still shocked that you can't sprawl any of these. That's a glaring omission if I've ever seen one.

Advanced in my career where I was the reigning champion at 185 lbs, and I had a super fight with Jon Jones. He came in at 205 lbs, beat me, and took the 185 lb title?

Does anybody know if there is a way to see the fighters moves list? My favorite fighter is Nick Diaz and I want to see his moves list to make my CAF like him.

On top of Diego Sanchez not being in the game and the laughable stamina system. The biggest gripe that Id like to see the Devs fix ASAP has got to be the ref standing up the fight for no damn reason when im blasting my opponent with strikes from side control. Every single time ill be destroying my opponents face with elbows from side control and blocking his transition attempts only to have the ref stand up the fight in like 10 seconds. Its almost like the devs are the kind of fans that boo the cage when there is groundwork in progress during a fight. There has to be a reasonable amount of "non-action" before a ref will go ahead and stand it up. Standing it up when theres constant elbows and blood flying is the stupidest crap ive ever seen.

I've had the game for a few days now, and I'm torn on the game currently. Some spots they absolutely nailed, presentation is great, the TuF house atmosphere feels great, the graphics in general are some of the best on the Xbox One and PS4 at the moment, no doubt...

However, I find it hard to over look the stamina advantage they give the CPU and the insane rate the CPU fighters throw "Flashy" strikes that you're lucky to see one of every 4 cards, let alone multiple times in one fight (Looking at you rolling head kick thing and axe kicks). Online the stamina isn't a problem, but you still see people flying off the cage with various strikes, just a ton of stuff you wouldn't see in UFC fight. Combine that with leg and body damage having no lasting affects and it takes me out of the immersion. It feels less like a chess match, and more like an arcade fighter at that point.

Not sure what they can do to fix that in this cycle, but I think the ground work is there for the next game to be great.
