R.B.I. Baseball 14 News Post

Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) has announced R.B.I. Baseball 14 for current and next-gen consoles, as well as mobile devices, arriving this Spring.

With 2K Sports confirming no baseball game, it didn't look good for Xbox 360 and Xbox One fans, but it now looks like we will see a baseball game for Microsoft gamers after all.

Time will tell what kind of game this really is, but in the meantime you can keep track of the game on Twitter, Facebook and their official website.

I hear you. I like to actually control the onscreen action. PYS is perfect in this regard! Here's to hoping RBI has some of that!

Agree 100%.

All this sim talk has me a bit confused. If you want a true sim, you are going to have to play OOTP or text base because otherwise results are going to be dependent on the players skill. Or sim would be a 1 button mechanism for pitching and hitting where the results were determined by the players actual stats and ability.

I think a baseball game is the easiest video game sport to get realistic results in and play sim. From my experience, It really comes down to can the pitchers walk batters while trying to throw strikes, outfielders can't get to every ball, the power/homerun frequency where it needs to be, the stats fall in line.

The original RBI baseball for the NES, my friends and I played the heck out of it. I remember we had a tournament amongst all of our friends and the finals it was the Astros beat the Cardinals 1-0. There were some blowouts along the way and some other lower scoring games. I'll always remember the final game(which I was just a spectator at that point) because the ball appeared to go through the wall instead of over and it was a highly contested incident. But that being said, the stats at the end of the day seemed sim.

If RBI baseball has fun gameplay and the season stats are relatively decent that will be fine with me. I just want a fun game to play where running the bases isn't over complicated and pitchers actual pitch to their ability(meaning walk batters when actually trying to throw strikes for the mediocre pitchers.)

Yes I heard great things about it but we will know soon enough about RBI 14 and even if not hard core sim it can still be great fun without being arcade y I hope .

Anything new will be good enough for me. 2k has turned into into a disaster, and the Show has been the same thing over and over for a while now.

Now that some news on The Show has finally been released, hopefully we'll get some info on RBI.

I'm hoping for news early next week. I doubt they will release anything in the next couple of days to avoid getting lost in all The Show news.

I would agree the walks and Ks on the older usa powerpro games were a slight drawback.

Overall it didn't bother me that much because the rest of the gameplay was so solid. Those factors have improved some on the current japanese powerpro games.

Now that we've seen some of The Show, I'd really like to see what RBI has to offer. I'm looking forward to some arcade baseball.

I'm guessing the release date of RBI won't be any earlier than April 1 so that it doesn't pull customers away from The Show.

Why would you say that? They want to sell their product and a lot of it. I'm hoping to hear some great news about this game very soon because everything I saw from the Show so far has been underwhelming atleast for me...

Yeah, unless I'm missing something in boom's statement, I doubt the devs of RBI are concerned about pulling customers away from The Show. In fact I would bet that would be more than fine with them if that were to happen. Isn't that what competition is all about?

I have a feeling if the Show is underwhelming then this isn't going to be your game.

Not sure why anyone would make this statement at this juncture as we know little to nothing about RBI as of yet, besides, not everyone thinks The Show walks on water.........

But they sure do feel the need to bring it up every time they want to talk about any other baseball game.
So they gotta feel something for it.

I will gladly eat crow if this game is sim.

Well, even if it is a sim, which I highly doubt, it could still be a bad game. Although some may prefer an arcade experience with this game. I am in hopes that maybe RBI ends up being a combination of sim / arcade, if there is such a thing, or did I just make that up?

Anyway, I just don't want to bury this game without yet knowing anything about it.

If R.B.I. is even remotely well made....it's a positive.

I wouldn't mind sim or arcade to be honest. Like Knight said, of it's well made I'm all in.

I guess I would actually prefer if it was arcade, if I had to choose.

I myself would actually prefer something that didn't worry about graphics and focused on the GM side of the game.....and just good on field play.

But just bashing and not worrying about anything else is a lot of fun.
