R.B.I. Baseball 14 News Post

Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) has announced R.B.I. Baseball 14 for current and next-gen consoles, as well as mobile devices, arriving this Spring.

With 2K Sports confirming no baseball game, it didn't look good for Xbox 360 and Xbox One fans, but it now looks like we will see a baseball game for Microsoft gamers after all.

Time will tell what kind of game this really is, but in the meantime you can keep track of the game on Twitter, Facebook and their official website.

of course is going to be sim! they are reviving an old sim franchise with RBI Baseball, if the game is not a sim then why they are bringing back RBI Baseball name? also, the show states that they are the only SIM baseball game "disc only" so they know that MLB is bringing a SIM baseball download game, thnik about all the hints... the lack of information from RBI and The Show are simple, they are waiting for each other to bring information or they are waiting for the Superbowl to be over or maybe a Superbowl TV Commercial?

OOTP is a sim baseball game. Granted you don't actually play baseball.

I like your thinking! Both franchises are certainly pitching a shutout as for info and marketing thus far.

Now that football season is over, maybe we'll get some RBI information this week.

Honestly, what scares me the most is the logo. It just screams arcade. I just wish they would release some kind of info already. I mean we got 2 months before opening day...I just want a single screenshot and then would tell us everything we need to know.

Everyone must be good but all I see is a logo and it does not swing me to either direction as to what type of game it will be.

I had a dream the other night where I was reading articles about RBI being a baseball sim.

This exceptionally brutal winter has really taken a toll on me.

I need baseball now!

I can't believe we have no info on this yet. Some players are already at camp.

It should be arcade. RBI baseball was quite literally an arcade game in it's original form.

Yup…I haven't understood the 'is it sim/arcade' question from the beginning. It's like if they announced they were bringing back Super Mario Bros and folks wonder if it's going to be a sim role playing game.

Well, hopefully we get some information and screenshots soon so the speculation can end.

Its not even close to the same argument. You would be hard pressed to find any sports games on snes that we would consider sim these days. In fact there isnt any. Actually rbi base all was probably by far the most sim baseball game at that time. Offering 700 actual mlb players along with season and playoff game modes. It even had a screen in the upper right to show a cheering crowd to add to the realism. If anything we should exp3ct this to be a sim, consideri g the original was as sim as you could get on a snes

Umm, no.

Bases loaded on the Nintendo had none of this and was more sim than RBI...

I believe RBI is also the first baseball game to have real players.
So you're right in that it was considered sim in it's day.

Only time will tell what kind of game this will be.
