R.B.I. Baseball 14 News Post

Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) has announced R.B.I. Baseball 14 for current and next-gen consoles, as well as mobile devices, arriving this Spring.

With 2K Sports confirming no baseball game, it didn't look good for Xbox 360 and Xbox One fans, but it now looks like we will see a baseball game for Microsoft gamers after all.

Time will tell what kind of game this really is, but in the meantime you can keep track of the game on Twitter, Facebook and their official website.

Anyway, I just don't want to bury this game without yet knowing anything about it.

For the original poster I replied to he said the Show underwhelmed him. If the Show does that to him then RBI would have to be sim, which it won't be.

Not to put words in his mouth, but I believe he said the news about MLB 14 underwhelmed them.
If you break down what was revealed MLB 14 will have better looking beards, crowds, grass, stadiums and online franchise.
There was nothing about gameplay.
So maybe that's what he was hoping to hear; some gameplay changes, updates, etc.

Saying that, not everyone likes MLB's brand of baseball. That's why it's always good to have choices.
I've gone back and forth between 2K and MLB the last few years. Both offer things the other doesn't.

At this point, nobody has any idea what kind of game RBI will be so it's too early to tell if it'll fit someone's style of play.

I'm hoping for a good game that plays sim but has elements of arcade to it minus the explosions. Give me Thorne as the broadcaster and an ai that knows baseball. Something along the lines of Power Pros would be great, i'm fine with that type of graphics, in fact I almost prefer them!

Kinda feeling this myself. If I have my info correct the devs specialty is social media and is the first videogame they have ever made. Eh, sounds like it's gonna be a simply made arcade game or sim attempt with all kinds of problems. Just a prediction FWIW.

In regards to using the PYS engine, sure would be nice but I'd be surprised if they even heard of it.

I like it. Enough of monopolies by certain sports games/companies. The more competition the better!

Not going to lie, but that's not bad for a mobile game. Seeing this actually puts my hope a little bit up.

Has anyone heard anything more about RBI? I wonder when the info is going to start flowing in... I'm very curious if this is going to be a fun game on the next gen systems.

Nothing yet. If I were a betting man I'd say that we hear something by next week.
Here's hoping. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this game has to offer too.

Well after seeing the shows fact sheet nothing peaked my interest other then quick count and nothing gameplay wise has changed in years so I would die for a fun alternative of Baseball as I actually like to play the games and not just watch.

Pick up and play fun with good graphics and semi sim gameplay is all I need I mean real interactive gameplay and none of that forced sim crap like your not even playing ! You hit a ball good you can get a good result same thing with pitching
Im just sick of getting hits I didnt earn and getting gimped on ones I should have had in sake of sim and heres hoping for a March release

I think we would have at least some info if this was being released in march.

But just bashing and not worrying about anything else is a lot of fun.

I totally agree! Then again, graphics are never a big factor for me being visually impaired anyway! lol, but if RBI has good gameplay and most importantly for me, fun and good announcers, I'll love the game. I'm hoping RBI comes out on ps4 before the show, so I've got something to hold me ove until the show.

Wow still no info ? and if nothing drops by next week this is just really strange as they already lost alot the excitement after the announcement in January .

I know, I wonder what's up. Maybe since this isn't a normal video game dev team, we won't get the usual type of news. I doubt they would just release the game without some type of news.

I wouldn't worry about that. This is being developed inhouse by MLB so I expect a big media push to get the word out.

Not sure what the hold-up is, but I really do think we'll hear something soon. Especially now that spring training is nearly in full swing.

I agree, I'm actually pretty excited. mlb advanced media does an amazing job with the mlb.tv product, and even though that's not a video game, it seems like they have a sense of how to do things right. I'm a big fan of them ever since they introduced audio overlay for mlb.tv.

Yeah their really the leader in this and I just cant see them not using all the tech at their hands and this alone is why I dont see them just releasing a Bigs type game alone as they really promote their brand well and from what I read down the road they just wanna profit off their own brand and cut out any middle men or other game companies and all the profits are theirs and thats why they created their own video game company with all MLB teams as the owners .
