First impressions:

A big improvement in gameplay. Infinity Engine 2.0 is well-done. The cuts when running are a big improvement over past years' gliding. There's also a good feel of momentum. The option on both the user side and the AI is finally effective. The colors pop nicely.

On the downside, the crowd noise is improved but still not loud enough and we shouldn't have to turn down everything else to make it seem louder.....for me crowd noise and chants are a big part of the college experience. The new Seven Nation Army chant is a nice addition but it pops up at odd times (something they'll have to tweak). The cut scenes after touchdowns have to go......years ago they would stick to the action on the field and you could run to one of your guys and do a high five or some other animation and they should stick with that.

While playing as Michigan, I threw an interception at OSU's 20 yard line and the cornerback had a full head of steam to the end zone. The announcer rightly says "nobody is going to catch him" yet two of my lineman suddenly pop into the screen and one of them bumps him out of bounds 10 yards from the end zone. This is a glitch that will hopefully be corrected.

Overall, this is a real big improvement over the last few years. Will I buy it when it comes out......eh, I doubt it. It's a game that I would probably play a lot more than I did with '13 (which I never even finished a season with) but from what I've seen on the demo I don't think it's worth $60. I'll have to play the demo more before I make a final decision........the street date is still weeks away.

I just have to say, I'm really impressed with 14. Beat Oregon 31-16 with A&M, and the score doesn't tell half the story. Oregon kept it close until I pulled away in the fourth.

The overall feel is so much different, so much more fresh. The presentation changes are well needed, and look fantastic. Maybe this was in 13, but hearing my LB's screaming SCREEN! was just awesome. For the first time in at least a couple of years, I'm confident and having fun with the run game.

Yeah, I'm a little giddy for this year's game, obviously. This demo is telling the story of a game that has finally gotten right. Good job, EA.

Anyone had problems with freezing (360)? I've had it lock up about 8 times now, only once was about to get into Skills Trainer. Still haven't been able to get into a game. Have downloaded it three separate times now, cleared the system cache. Nothing.

I kinda like the demo . hope the full game is better. qb scrambles sometimes are big. sometimes not. the graphics are good. still alittle problems with players being on top of each other when fall. i played on AA difficulty only lost 14-9 (Ohio state & Michigan)

funny how you say "go to my twitter" yet dont give us your twitter.

I bet he comes back with a picture of the case. The same case anyone can get a picture of. If you really have the game. Write your OS username on a piece of paper. Then put it next to the CD and Take a pic.

And dont say you cant. There is almost no one without a camera these days

I'm a NCAA noob therefore my comments may be less important.. The gameplay seems to be ok (after a few games) but graphics and sounds of this game are still a GENERATION behind Madden 13. I felt like I popped an Madden 6 disk in my PS3. But again, gameplay is the most important thing in sports games...

In my opinion, NCAA gameplay is always better than Madden. Madden took a gigantic leap ahead of NCAA by getting a revamped physics engine. In the end, it comes down to the funding and how much money EA gives each game. Of course EA gives Madden way more than NCAA, which is why the graphics are better than NCAA. Still, Tiburon does a very good job of trying to revamp NCAA with the limited amount of money they get from EA. It's sad, but then again, sales always improve each year on NCAA.

-I like that your RB explodes after receiving the handoff without having to use speed burst. Running has come a long way. It's no longer a pass happy game.
-The screen options and reading of screens have come a long way. It's made this game a lot more realistic. It does have it's major faults though.
-I love the leading receivers and throwing low, etc. It's a better feel than before.
-Cuts by a runner are excellent.
My likes list can go on and on, but it's very solid

My negatives are pretty mundane, but there are corrections that need to be made.
-Offensive line hard count...fix it. I should be able to hard count on 4th and short and my line should be better disciplined. Same garbage as last year
-Interception animation is sluggish at best. I do like that when you are alone and the pick is coming right to your defender, he doesn't hesitate to haul it in. But the animation is slow, almost like the defender is bobbling it for 2-3 seconds before the camera flips angles.
-Bad user defensive line pressure. I don't want last years arcade style numbers, but I should be able to move my O-lineman so that I disrupt the pocket.
-Running back button layout change on read option makes zero sense. You start with your running back being RB and your slot receive being Y even though you know what play you're running. After you snap the ball depending on the direction of the run, your running back can change to LB and your slot WR changes from Y to RB. Make the layout before the snap and stick to it.
-Trucking is only equaled by gang tackling. Running has been boosted so much I haven't been able to open field tackle without some sort of extra yardage.
-What the F is with the hurry up offense? Am I taking crazy pills or does it revert back to your last play call option and not allow you to switch the formation? You should be able to make an adjustment to a different formation.

This is an outstanding game. It feels and looks great. I just can't bare some things that make no sense.
Its like that on purpose and a lot of people agree with it. I wont say ever but very very rarely will you see a team come out in 5 wide then change to goal line with the same personnel. You have to run what that personnel is supposed to run.

Watching CPU vs CPU just to see how well the CPU plays against itself. As a fan of coach mode, I know the past 2 years it didn't. But anyway I am impressed that the CPU plays pretty good against itself. When put the game at CPU vs CPU it takes you to broadcast camera view. The logo in the middle of the field is still upside down.

With that said I can't to start a coach mode dynasty as Army, now that the CPU can actually run the option attack effectively.

Sorry if already mentioned but if you complete a Fake FG Pass for a two point conversion, the commentators mention the holder (backup QB) is a new quarterback coming into the game, and the backup QB's profile comes onto the screen. It's good to see that they have this presentation feature for new QB's coming into the game, but it shouldn't be used in this situation.

Am I the only one who thinks the read option is way overpowered? It seems like I get 10+ yards every time I run it against Heisman AI.

It's not just the read option. The shovel is absolutely ridiculous. This game would be a first-day buy for me if the option game wasn't so overpowered, but as it stands I'm going to have to wait for a patch/tuning update to even consider it.

After playing the demo off and on all day:

1.) Gameplay is improved for sure. Weight of the players, running game, CPU playcalling. Same ol same ol when it comes to the special teams play.
2.) Infinity engine creates some fun animations and tackle situations, especially when players hurdle. Although I've seen some quirks, I am pleased with the implementation.
3.) I am disappointed in the graphics. Yes, the colors are more vibrant when it comes to the fields, but the player models are still grainy and jaggy (PS3). Hard to take knowing how good NCAA 11 player models looked...
3.) The sound is improved but some of the sounds get old fast (licensed music). However, better to have it than not plus we have custom sounds as an option. Commentary is fine, although some things are said out of context.

A little less hyped tonight than I was last night. So many things improved, yet so many things felt familiar. I need to just delete the demo and judge how I feel once I get some UT packs and dynasty stories going.

Love the direction EA is going and I love the feel of the new game so far. Way better than ncaa 13

So, after playing for a while, here are my observations:

Pro:
-The Flexbone seems to work now. Hopefully the same goes for the Wishbone.
-The Coordinator Cam is nice. It gets a little wonky on field goals and kick returns, but as a whole I really don't have any complaints about it.
-The presentation has been dramatically improved. Stat overlays are a welcome addition.
-For the first time in the history of the series, the Option Pass works right. Yes, it's darn-near unstoppable, but at the same time, the fact that I don't have to basically choose whether I'm running it as an option or a pass at the beginning of the play is huge.

Con:
-The Option game is way, way overpowered. Yes, when run right it should be nearly impossible to stop. But it should be difficult to run right.
-The intro videos could be better. Hopefully they're customizable, but I'm not holding out hope.

Michigan (me) versus OSU in OT, tied at 21. I pick off OSU in the end zone and return it over 100 yards down the sideline for the game winning TD, tackled as I reach the end zone. Game over. But not so fast! Clipping on the return, no TD!

I'm in the same boat. I skipped NCAA for 2 years and while I'm not a big graphics guy it was pretty damn jarring in comparison to Madden 13.
