Check out the Madden NFL 13 title update #3 details.

Feature Additions:

Custom Rosters Offline: Added the ability to start an offline career with a custom roster.

Connected Careers Edit Player: Added the ability to edit gear and information for players in a league.

Coach Mode in Connected Careers: Added the ability to use coach mode in Connected Careers.

Changing Schemes in Connected Careers: Added the ability to change offensive and defensive schemes as a coach.

Offline Play Along in Connected Careers: Added the ability for multiple people to join a CCM game. This applies to coaches only.

Draft Clock: Added a draft clock during the draft that is displayed on screen if you leave the draft interface to view rosters, depth charts, etc.

Draft Filter: Added a filter to the draft screen to display players that have been drafted.

Connected Careers Practice XP: Added the ability for user controlled players to earn extra XP in practice mode through the stats they accumulate.
Gameplay Tuning:
  • Fixed an issue where WRs were dropping too many passes when playing on All Madden difficulty setting.
  • Fixed an issue where it was too easy to time the kick meter on FGs and PATs in user vs. user games.
  • Fixed an issue where punt returners were moving away from the landing spot if you called a fair catch while letting the CPU control the player.
  • Fixed an issue where someone who attempted to bull rush with the R stick once the ball was snapped activated run commit.
Commentary:
  • Added over a dozen logic fixes to make our commentary more intelligent.
Presentation:
  • Fixed an issue where specific offensive player celebrations were not triggering.
  • Fixed an issue where the referee was backwards when calling a penalty.
  • Fixed an issue with the Giants away uniforms (missing a sleeve stripe).
Connected Careers:
  • Fixed an issue where Offline Gameplay AI/Logic did not match the logic in Play Now.
  • Fixed an issue where playing the game on All-Madden is too easy.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the camera setting in CCM game works for single player.
  • Fixed an issue where League Sliders had limited impact on difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where the Accelerated Clock did not function in an online CCM game when the option was set to On.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not turn on/off GameFlow in CCM.
  • Fixed an issue where you were unable to sign Free Agents during the season.
  • Fixed an issue where 'Starting a League' would reset Player Schemes.
  • Fixed an issue where after declining a trade offer, you are no longer able to accept or decline another offer.
  • Fixed an issue where you could exploit supersim to run the game clock indefinitely.
  • Fixed some spelling and polish issues in the News and Twitter.
  • Fixed an issue where a coach could make a contract offer to a user controlled player.
  • Fixed an issue where you are forced to select a throwing style for a created player that is not a QB.
  • Fixed an issue where turning Auto-Start to off does not save week to week.
  • Fixed an issue where you can see rookie overall ratings by accessing the player card of the prospect through Team Needs.
  • Fixed an issue where changing Auto-Sub Frequency does not change the correct data.
  • Fixed an issue where the profanity filter was preventing offline players from typing in their names.
  • Fixed an issue where you can draft a player and then trade down while the draft is paused. The issue resulted in the user keeping both the traded picks and drafted player.
Stability:
  • Fixed numerous crashes.
  • Fixed an issue with the in-game pause menu disappearing.
Madden Ultimate Team:
  • Changed the Packs button to Store Button.
  • Condensed Leaderboards and Help menus.
  • Implemented the ability to view videos from the hub.
  • Implemented Store Panel Changes.
  • Moved Auctions/Trades to a separate menu option.
  • Fixed several Solo Challenge exploits
Playbooks:
  • Fixed an issue where theHail Mary formation in a custom playbook had a blank play that resulted in a broken formation and invisible players if selected.

I probably will agree with you here. I've had M13 on the shelf for weeks now, aside from popping in to download the latest roster update to see if equipment updates are getting better.

The playcalling issue has zapped my enthusiasm for M13. I've gone back to M12, but in spite of having some great games with it, it feels stale so I'm basically in between a rock and a hard place.

Since it won't be fixed in this patch, and I don't think it can be fixed in a tuner, hopefully what Frisk said that it's being looked into.. hopefully it's fixed in a 4th patch.

Was he talking about actually modifying the positions though? I guess it's possible, the limiting factor they talked about before was player goals, so the goals don't have to change for a swap from right guard to left guard.

Not that it seems hard for the game to just pull goals from a similar set to handle real position changes though. Like if you want change a rookie with superstar DEV from CB to FS, it just picks 3 goals from a pool of those that would be assigned to a rookie superstar FS and assigns him those instead of his CB goals. I'm no programmer but I don't see any real problem here.

The problem isn't they don't have the capabilities to do it. The problem is they don't want people online exploiting this to meet certain goals with players and then switch their position back once they rack up the XP.

It's not just zone play. I've seen it in man coverage as well. I doubt this can be fixed in a patch.

Any idea if something is being done about the issue that's causing a lot of peoples PS3 to double beep and have to restore when trying to leave out of Madden?

Also will any of the stability fixes fix the issue with bluetooth headsets not working properly with the game?

In your first video, assuming its a cover 2 zone, your lb is playing correctly, as he is coming down to cover what appears to be a back out of the backfield on a curl, if anything the safety is not making the correct play. Its hard to tell but it looks like you may have shaded zones to the middle since cover 2 has the safeties widening out at the snap.
In your second video, the safety is playing correctly, hes playing the deeper threat on his side of the field.
The third video I'm not sure whats going on there, one of two possibilities, given that DBs and WRs now have essentially a "vision cone", he "forgets" the middle receiver when he turns his attention to the outside receiver. The other possibility, since its the same safety making these mistakes perhaps its his awareness etc. I'm not familiar with the vikings depth chart so I cant be certain on this. Take it for what its worth but without knowing the play call and any adjustments it purely speculation.

Would this actually be a problem though? The goals and rewards for the positions that you'd actually switch are pretty similar. Like are they afraid people are going to put Calvin Johnson at LB and run nanos with him to get sack goals? Who cares? I guess they could make XP use it or lose it before switching positions, but you can still upgrade most of the same stats anyway, right?

Anyway, in my opinion it's not worth leaving out a basic thing that happens regularly in the NFL like switching a player's position in order to stop a few people from doing ridiculous things to gain a little extra EXP.

Once you start your Connected Career you cannot edit ratings or positions, most everything else can be edited

If it is that they were able to do, it is close to be called a joke. Changing positions in a custom roster file should no problem at all. There is no problem at al, because what can you exploit at this time? Nothing! After starting your CC it could be a bigger thing to do. But to be honest, I do not see that big of a problem. Changing an T to C shouldn't change the goals that much. Same thing with DE and OLB. The other thing they mentioned was productivity. As I know, this value is zero from the start of a players carrer and gets higher based on some stats. I guess different stats are rated higher then others (A DE is likely more productiv when his sack stats are high and a CB will be more productive if he has a lot of INTs). So if a player changes his position, take a look at his stats and recalculate the value based on the stats regarding his knew position.
I would say it is more a problem of how the code works (or does not work), than a design problem.

On play number 2 what would you like to see? This one is tough to evaluate because you are in a cover 2 sink defense and the deep third is being attacked by two WR's

You can flip positions (LE to RE, ROLB to LOLB) but you cannot change positions (ROLB to DE, FS to CB).

First off just wanna say your presence here is much appreciated, its nice to know someone is listening. Got a few questions for you if you dont mind.
#1. What is the likely hood of custom playbooks in CCM? ie. 50% chance, 90%, snowballs chance in hell?
#2. What about undrafted rookie free agents, at present they just seem to disappear after the draft? Along these lines it would be nice if there was a couple diamonds among these guys, how else are you gonna have a John Randle, Brian Waters, Wes Welker etc.
#3. I know this wont happen this year, but please, for the love of god, can we do something about the O/D line, especially the psychic O-line. I'll probably get flamed for this but I'd actually give up hot routes if we could get a fair playcall system. Stock blitzes wouldnt need adjustments if the O-line didnt already know where the heat was coming from.

In my offline CCM undrafted rookies appear in the free agent list following the draft until the end of preseason. I've found they don't appear under "All" but do appear when you look at individual positions. I usually go through each position and sort by age to see who is available. I've picked up a couple of 99 speed guys that went undrafted via this process.

Numerous fixes were made to address freezing at various points throughout the game.
