Okay so on the draft players being able to be edited. My guess is that they don't want to throw away all their work on the back stories, which I could care less about. They are after all made up, so I doubt anyone would miss it. What ever happened to letting the people who buy the game play how they want to play it offline? I don't care about Bull Griggs, in fact I find it comical that EA would think anyone would. One of the greatest aspects was being able to import draft classes into Madden from NCAA, thus increasing replay value. My only question is if we cannot edit draft classes, what is the thought process behind it? Do you think people want to be told how to play a game offline, or do you not want your grand idea of scripted drafts thrown out?

I'm going to step out of my cone-of-silence for a moment and respond to this post because one, it is like a question I would have asked and two, I've learned since joining the Madden forums...

What I have learned is Madden is not one game for one person (whether that is a positive or negative is debated in other threads) so to ask if people want this or that is always yes. Yes to both, that there are just as many players that want one type of game as another.

I'm not saying don't don't ask/suggest that you want the game your way, just be aware that the game is made for as many different people as possible.

In past years, you were able to edit positions and it would change a players OVR....then you could sign the player for cheap (at their bad position) then edit them over to their good position.
Because not all players are allowed to be moved to the positions we want them in (Pryor WR, Tebow HB etc).

This is an idea I posted about that I believe would help with this issue and add incredible replay value, all the while adding almost limitless storyline possibilities.

You should only be allowed to make realistic changes. DE to OLB, LG to RG, G to T, S to CB.

A quarterback to wide receiver/running back is realistic.

Some of them, Pryor, Tebow etc. just refuse to do it because they feel they can play in the NFL at a high level.

Did they put the option to use created playbooks in for CCM?

# 489 Cutler2Hester @ 10/07/12 10:22 PM
so we can slide over to the other team in CCM with this patch??

if so, yessssssssssssssss

I'm sure this has been asked but I couldn't find it in my searching:

Anyone heard if the zoom camera will be patched? We all know whats wrong with it. I'm sick of playing on standard as it's too far away to get a good feel of this game.

# 491 angels027 @ 10/08/12 02:03 PM
do you need to restart your offline CCM for this update?

You should be allowed to put anyone anywhere and the game engine representing the players skills vs the position's needs in terms of performance. There are no rules in the NFL about who can play where. Realism would incorporate that.

So if I want to use Harvin as a HB like the Vikings do sometimes, Cobb like the Packers do, split McCoy out as a WR, have both Tebow and Sanchez on the field, I should be able to. The game shouldn't say "you can't put a WR in a HB slot in the formation" or "you can't put a QB at HB".

Heck, can you put a DL as FB? Put OL at TE in a 3 TE formation so you can have 8 on the field at once like a team did on Sunday (everything you see on Sunday?)

Primary position should be for contract situations/expected salary more than anything else. Otherwise, position = where you play on the field - and that can change based on set, formation, motion/shifts, and package.

No you will not have to, unless you would like to upload a CUSTOM ROSTER into your Connected Career.

No you cannot slide over to the other team. Somebody on your console can only slide onto your team and play with you.

Still no created playbooks in Connected Careers

Is this same as old coach mode (QB) or a new version? Can User controlled QBs with Coach Mode On scramble?

Josh Looman has mentioned many times that this is something we want in Madden, it just wasn't ready to be properly implemented into Madden NFL 13.

My hypothesis is they don't want cheesers (God did I really just use that word) turning online CCM to a fiasco by making Mark Barron a DT and Aaron Rodgers a WR. But that's all I can come up with. Seems like the schemes and such should be able to still function.
This is just something that wasn't ready for Connected Careers. A lot of things change on the backend when a player changes positions. There are also things that could be used as exploits (i.e. changing a player position to gain XP, and then switching back after the game). When the team can devise a way to implement this realistically and efficiently we will see it in Madden.

The only thing you will have to restart your Connected Career for is custom roster import. Everything else will happen retroactively

Multiplayer in the sense that you and another can play with eachother on the same console. You cannot control different teams in the same Connected Career without retiring and changing teams.
