Check out the Madden NFL 13 title update #3 details.

Feature Additions:

Custom Rosters Offline: Added the ability to start an offline career with a custom roster.

Connected Careers Edit Player: Added the ability to edit gear and information for players in a league.

Coach Mode in Connected Careers: Added the ability to use coach mode in Connected Careers.

Changing Schemes in Connected Careers: Added the ability to change offensive and defensive schemes as a coach.

Offline Play Along in Connected Careers: Added the ability for multiple people to join a CCM game. This applies to coaches only.

Draft Clock: Added a draft clock during the draft that is displayed on screen if you leave the draft interface to view rosters, depth charts, etc.

Draft Filter: Added a filter to the draft screen to display players that have been drafted.

Connected Careers Practice XP: Added the ability for user controlled players to earn extra XP in practice mode through the stats they accumulate.
Gameplay Tuning:
  • Fixed an issue where WRs were dropping too many passes when playing on All Madden difficulty setting.
  • Fixed an issue where it was too easy to time the kick meter on FGs and PATs in user vs. user games.
  • Fixed an issue where punt returners were moving away from the landing spot if you called a fair catch while letting the CPU control the player.
  • Fixed an issue where someone who attempted to bull rush with the R stick once the ball was snapped activated run commit.
Commentary:
  • Added over a dozen logic fixes to make our commentary more intelligent.
Presentation:
  • Fixed an issue where specific offensive player celebrations were not triggering.
  • Fixed an issue where the referee was backwards when calling a penalty.
  • Fixed an issue with the Giants away uniforms (missing a sleeve stripe).
Connected Careers:
  • Fixed an issue where Offline Gameplay AI/Logic did not match the logic in Play Now.
  • Fixed an issue where playing the game on All-Madden is too easy.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the camera setting in CCM game works for single player.
  • Fixed an issue where League Sliders had limited impact on difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where the Accelerated Clock did not function in an online CCM game when the option was set to On.
  • Fixed an issue where you could not turn on/off GameFlow in CCM.
  • Fixed an issue where you were unable to sign Free Agents during the season.
  • Fixed an issue where 'Starting a League' would reset Player Schemes.
  • Fixed an issue where after declining a trade offer, you are no longer able to accept or decline another offer.
  • Fixed an issue where you could exploit supersim to run the game clock indefinitely.
  • Fixed some spelling and polish issues in the News and Twitter.
  • Fixed an issue where a coach could make a contract offer to a user controlled player.
  • Fixed an issue where you are forced to select a throwing style for a created player that is not a QB.
  • Fixed an issue where turning Auto-Start to off does not save week to week.
  • Fixed an issue where you can see rookie overall ratings by accessing the player card of the prospect through Team Needs.
  • Fixed an issue where changing Auto-Sub Frequency does not change the correct data.
  • Fixed an issue where the profanity filter was preventing offline players from typing in their names.
  • Fixed an issue where you can draft a player and then trade down while the draft is paused. The issue resulted in the user keeping both the traded picks and drafted player.
Stability:
  • Fixed numerous crashes.
  • Fixed an issue with the in-game pause menu disappearing.
Madden Ultimate Team:
  • Changed the Packs button to Store Button.
  • Condensed Leaderboards and Help menus.
  • Implemented the ability to view videos from the hub.
  • Implemented Store Panel Changes.
  • Moved Auctions/Trades to a separate menu option.
  • Fixed several Solo Challenge exploits
Playbooks:
  • Fixed an issue where theHail Mary formation in a custom playbook had a blank play that resulted in a broken formation and invisible players if selected.

Well in theory, if what they say is true, then yes why not?

You can actually edit the current players' names this year too, and then give them old school gear as well. So unless they change something, I think roster makers will have all the tools necessary. Pretty cool.

Emmdot, can you confirm that the editing encompasses player names? Specifically the draft class names. Schools would be good, but names are a must. Without the ability to import, I just plan on copying the names and positions of my NCAA classes onto some notebook paper, then replacing the Madden rookie names with my own.

First off, thanks for taking the time to read the threads and address our issues. At least you're communicating with us.

I'm not sure how many patches are allowed for this Madden 32 team control or the choice to edit other teams during CCM appears to be a make-or-break for a lot of us in the forums in terms of getting the game. Is it being investigated for a possible patch for this Madden or being looked at for Madden '14? This can at least let me know what to expect supoort wise for the game.

The only reason that I'm pushed to actually ask this was because EA fixed stuff in this patch that NO ONE in this forum even thought would get fixed (custom rosters in CCM) and it was done. Impressed and I'm still shocked...

On the plus side, I don't think the position requirements are as tough as they used to be - for example, I've only got 1 backup at OT. You should be able to move your DE/LBs on the depth chart, and their ratings will probably change based on their ability at the position they're playing.

Will we be able to edit the names of drafted players? If so, can we even edit names of players that have storylines?

Honestly I wouldn't do much of that - the only drafted players I want to edit will be to edit me and some of my friends into the game.

This thread would be only 25 pages long if it weren't for the numerous multiple posts asking sometimes the exact same question, on the same page even!

Please, people, learn to follow directions and be considerate of what is trying to be accomplished here. If I were Emmdot, I'd make it through about 10 pages and run out of the room screaming because people are asking the exact same questions that were either answered in the OP or from someone else.

Now, will I be able to control all 32 teams in CCM?

Maybe someone should compile all of the questions in the thread into one easy-to-read post for emmdotfrisk to read. Let's not chase him away by making him read through 50+ pages of repeated questions that have already been answered. This will also ensure that we get the most common unanswered questions answered.

I think any other patch threads are getting locked, so Emm will just have to muddle through.

Yeah I read most of the pages just wanted to know if the draft classes can be edited before the actual draft takes place. So can you edit the draft classes before the draft?

I was really annoyed by that at first, but now i kinda like the fact that my subs don't carry over from game to game. i can customize my subs in each game, based on the opposing team. It seems to me there's a bit more time to call plays, so I can sub in a pass rushing DT and DE on the fly.

I find myself switching the subs during the same game now - moving players around to take advantage of matchups.

I have read all 53 pages of this thread and seen this questions asked, but gotten no definitive answer or clarification, so I'm going to list them here. I apologize if I missed something, but I really tried not to.

1) Co-Op: does that just mean on the same console, or can I invite a friend online to play co-op with me in CC?
2) What exactly can be edited for players in Online Connected Career? Is it the same for the commish as all coaches?
3) What are the details around changing scheme? Does this mean I can set my team's scheme to "Multiple DEF", or is it related to changing the positional schemes?
4) Accelerated clock fix: does this mean that accelerated clock now works in user vs user for Online Connected Careers. Kongemeier says so earlier in this thread, but I'm not sure because the wording in the patch doesn't make it clear to me.

I dont see it, but....is the CPU AI addressed?

The playcalling is downright silly at times. Especially late in the half/end of game

This one is answered in the first post where it says it patched in offline play along which means that you and up to 3 friends can play on the same team on the same console during CCM, no online co-op

So, will all future roster updates now be for only "play now and online?" -with the option to export to ccm?

Since custom rosters can now be used for ccm does that negate the need for separate ccm roster updates?

I guess what I'm asking is are all roster updates going to be "universal" for all modes now?

so im taking it that if i have a salary cap issue in a online ccm this patch wont fix it??? or will we be able to carry on when the patch arrives?
