Sliding = not having intertia in players movement = players don't defend like in reality

That's not entirely true. If it was something that was easily fixed in video games you wouldn't see it but you do see it in all 3d games. Noone complains about it in other games like Call of Duty or whatever but i's still there.

Its a video game -- Newton's Laws do not apply lol. I'm cool with a little sliding as well, as long as its realistic.

Well, nhl 13 and pes 2013 try to recreate momentum/inertia. Nba2k has it till some extent, but sliding kills it. In sport games I think inertia is very important. I know it is a videogame, but it is going to be a must in the future - like better IA, real physics, etc.

Apples and oranges imo, focusing on what's more technical versus what's more practical. I can't say definitively but I feel safe saying neither of those games has anywhere near the level of complexity the animations in NBA2K has. Some of you are complaining about something that's moving in hyper-slow motion that the naked eye probably wouldn't notice. Either way we won't know until we see full gameplay video.

As long as 2K continues to improve their animation system while retaining the ability to distinguish individual players via distinct player animations (and attributes) I FAR MORE prefer that system than some generically animated game where most players move the same way.

I couldn't be happier about the control stick change. I've spent the past 5 seasons saying "damn i wish 2k would just steal the control scheme from Live", and finally they just ate a little, tiny piece of crow and did the right thing. It is really funny to hear them try and explain it though, like it's some new, intuitive idea rather than a time tested classic. Either way, this has pretty much sold me on the game, after I was almost dead set on taking this season off. Excellent work 2k, other than the Jay Z soundtrack of course, that kills me.

Animations alone aren't the way to follow. They are very important because of the immersion they give to the game and because they open a lot of diversity in the gameplay. But if you want a realistic gameplay, you have to apply inertia to the movements of the players. It's inertia what gives you the opportunities to break ankles, to create your own shot, to move the ball till find an open man - because the defensive players cannot cover unrealistically all the place -, etc.

I want to see how this really effects the shot stick. Shots like step backs spinning lay-up and dunks, hop step dunks, euro lay-ups and up and under's.

Most likely wont see "True Foot Planting" until next gen. So as long as sliding is toned down and dont look like players only have socks on and slip&sliding, I wont complain about it.

I am waiting to see them explain about the speed issue fixed. It should be in the Gameplay #2 Insight(maybe this week or next). I dont want to see players chase down people on FB unless they are faster than them.

My main concern with Speed this year is that I hope we can press it without the CPU being triggered into to sliding. That is the main reason that PNR wasnt good. As soon as you pressed turbo and went around the pick, the opposing big man would slide right in front of you to bump you back

Awesome! My pre-order will be going in, shortly.

Oh no that's what I'm assuming that we'll have to wait for the next gen. But I think it just maybe a video game thing, as someone stated before. I think if they add more animations so they make the transition from one animation to another look and feel realistic. At the end of the day, video games will have limitations, I don't expect it to be ultra realistic or so realistic it can actually replicate everything in the real world.

Maybe there can't be a true footplanting in this generation, but what had nba2k12 wasn't nearly a simulation of it. Maybe sliding can't be avoided, but tweak it and add some inertia that movement... My last post about this
Nba2k13 seems that it's going to be a great game, hopefully it is - online issues solved, online sliders, etc.

Any word on the AI being able to double team this year? That killed 2k12 for me.

"Ronnie 2K 2K13
This is going to be a great week. Start to clear up the mystery behind the #NBA2K13 JAY Z involvement and make HUGE announcements
just now from web

Ronnie 2K 2K13
Chris and I are going to be shooting footage all afternoon of the Dev Insight Videos. Got some great stuff in store. But let me say...
less than 1 minute ago from web"

SO I expect the insight to be later in week (Thur-Fri) and other info in the week.

If we can do anything like this with the Isomotion this year:

I might just have to buy this game twice.

That Is something I want to hear about. Alot of it was cause by either the player sliding into position to steal or go physic defender by just sticking their hand up in the right time.

I really hope that I would want to press turbo this year. You were better off just using the sticks to just "jog". With speed being "fixed" and RTP, I hope I can see the difference between Westbrook and Perkins when it comes to speed
